Chapter 1985: No Escaping the Little Chubby Hands

"There must be hidden secrets within." Hua Jinyan also noticed the painting that seemed very out of place.

Where there’s something strange, there’s always a reason.

Little Taotie leaned in closer to the painting, taking in the scent of sandalwood.

"This rice paper smells nice, it’s the scent of sandalwood."

Hua Jinyan squinted his eyes, catching the same fragrance.

"I’ll take it down and have a look." Little Taotie reached out, but Hua Jinyan stopped him.

Little Taotie asked in confusion, "Not going to take it down?"

"I’ll do it."

"I can do it too, it’s not too high."

"No, I’ll handle it."

Little Taotie couldn’t argue with him, choosing to sit aside instead.

Hua Jinyan took out a pair of leather gloves, made from a rather thick material, entirely coffee-colored.

Once his hands were wrapped securely, Hua Jinyan stepped forward to remove the painting.

The painting wasn’t hung very high; in fact, it defied normal logic, being hung quite low. It was within a child’s reach, whereas an adult would have to bend or squat down to reach it.

Seeing Hua Jinyan take the painting down, Little Taotie hurried up to get a look, but Hua Jinyan blocked his view with his body.

Little Taotie puffed up with anger, "What are you hiding that you won’t let me see?"

Hua Jinyan pressed his lips together.

The front of the painting was an ink landscape, but the back was something quite improper.

Now he understood why the painting was here.

This place was modern and luxuriously decorated, with rows of wine cabinets filled with famous wines from around the world.

It’s a place where men gather to drink and have fun, and at some point, someone might flip the ink painting over to enhance the ambiance.

"What are you hiding!"

"...Nothing."

"You’re lying, move out of the way and let me see quickly!"

"You can’t look."

"Why? Why can you see what I can’t? No way, I have to see it, you’re being unfair! Why can you see it when I can’t?"

"I already regret seeing it, I wish I hadn’t."

"I want to regret too."

Hua Jinyan sighed, "You really can’t see it."

Little Taotie huffed and puffed, "Move your body away quickly, or I’ll use force!"

Little Taotie rubbed his hands together, breathed into his palms, preparing to act.

Hua Jinyan continued to shield Little Taotie with his back.

In front, he was holding the painting with one hand and was removing the improper painting on the back with the other.

Just before Little Taotie resorted to "violence," Hua Jinyan finally managed to take it down. The next part was easy, since it was thin rice paper, he could crumple it into a very small wad.

He crumpled the improper painting into a ball and hid it in his pocket.

Little Taotie pushed him aside and dashed to the wall, thinking there was a secret there which was why Hua Jinyan was blocking her. Yet, once at the wall, she found nothing but a barren white surface.

Little Taotie was puzzled, tilting her head, looking at Hua Jinyan in confusion.

Hua Jinyan shrugged.

Little Taotie squinted her eyes suspiciously, her gaze fixed on Hua Jinyan.

Hua Jinyan’s eyes drifted slightly.

Little Taotie stepped forward two steps, closing in on him, snorting: "You definitely hid something, I’m going to search you!"

Hua Jinyan: "..."

Little Taotie snorted, "You’re guilty, your eyes are shifty, you’re speechless without a comeback! You definitely hid something! Turn around, I’m starting the search right now!"

Little chubby hands had already "attacked".

Hua Jinyan retreated repeatedly, the little chubby hands shadowing closely.

In a soft, babyish voice, Little Taotie protested, "You can’t escape!"

Hua Jinyan held his forehead, "Stop messing around."

"Who’s messing around? You’re the one hiding something and not letting me see! You started it first, so I’m not holding back!" Little Taotie bared her teeth, lunging forward, her baby voice growling twice, adorably fierce.
