The Lust Grimoire: I Steal Magic By Fulfilling Her Desires
Chapter 3: First Target — Married, Desperate, and Ready
Arthur sat on the edge of a narrow bed in a cheap inn two streets away from the Hall of Binding. The room smelled of old wood and cheap soap. A single oil lamp flickered on the table. Outside the thin window, the capital’s lower district kept making noise like it had no idea the world had just changed for one Fringe reject.
He had paid for three nights with the last of the coins his father had thrown at him the day the family sealed the door. That had been four years ago. The moment the tutors confirmed his channels were useless, the investment turned into a debt. His parents called it theft. They said he had stolen years of grain money and hope. When the Academy letter arrived they did not even look up from their ledgers. He left with a worn coat and silence.
The black book rested on the bed beside him. Warm. Always warm.
A soft pop of air broke the quiet.
Pink-gold light gathered in the middle of the room and shaped itself into a girl no taller than his chest. Translucent wings like thin glass beat once behind her back and settled. Her hair was a messy cascade of pale rose that floated as if underwater. Her eyes were too large and too bright, the color of fresh cherry blossoms. She wore nothing on top except thin straps that barely covered her small chest. From the waist down hung a hyper-short skirt made of five overlapping obsidian orchid petals. The glossy tips brushed her bare thighs every time she moved. Dark leg wraps climbed from her ankles to mid-thigh, leaving the rest of her skin exposed.
Arthur’s gaze dropped for half a second to the way the petals parted when she hovered. He forced his eyes back up.
Little girl. She looks like a little girl. Stop.
The tiny figure grinned like she had caught him anyway.
"Pervert. I felt that."
Arthur exhaled through his nose. "You can take a physical form?"
"Only for you. No one else can see me unless I want them to." She spun once in the air. The petal skirt flared and settled again. "Name’s Mimi. I’m the consciousness that woke up inside this dusty old book while it was rotting on the top shelf. Been waiting a long time for someone whose channels matched. Congrats. You’re stuck with me."
She landed lightly on the bed and sat with her legs swinging. The petals shifted and revealed more thigh. Arthur looked at the wall.
"Let me tell you what this grimwore can do," she said, counting on small fingers. "I print abilities. You help a woman unlock a desire she’s been crushing, sexual kind, the kind that makes her Eros Mana leak all over the place. When she finally lets go and you finish the job properly, her Grinwore resonates and I copy the core seal onto one of my seven pages. One thing to remember though, it will be permanent if she’s Tier 7 or higher. Below that the print is temporary. How long it lasts depends on her tier and how hard she’s trained the ability. Low-tier stuff fades fast. Not worth the effort most of the time."
Arthur frowned. "You said high-tier only before."
"I said high-tier is the good stuff. It’s Permanent and Strong. The kind that lets you punch up. But technically any female with real sexual desire works. The book doesn’t care about morals. It cares about resonance."
She tilted her head, studying his face. A slow, knowing smile curved her lips.
"You’re already thinking about someone."
Arthur did not deny it. Downstairs, when he had paid for the room, the innkeeper’s wife had stood behind the counter with a polite smile that never reached her eyes. Something about her had tugged at the new sense sitting behind his vision. Dense. Heavy. Almost desperate.
Mimi floated up until she was eye level with him.
"That’s Desire Sight. It’s an ability of this grimoire. You see the pink-gold threads leaking from women who are bottling something up. The thicker the mist, the stronger the repression. Useful, right?"
Arthur stared at the closed door. Thirteen years of being called worthless. Years of his family counting every coin they had wasted on him. The laughter in the Hall still echoed in his ears. If this book worked the way she claimed, those people would not stay above him forever.
He stood.
Mimi’s wings beat faster. "Oh? Going hunting already? Bold."
Arthur ignored her and left the room. The wooden stairs creaked under his boots. The common room below was half empty. A few travelers nursed drinks. Behind the counter stood the woman he had noticed earlier.
She looked to be in her early thirties. Clear skin, dark hair tied loosely, a simple dress that still showed a full figure. Beautiful in a tired, everyday way. When she saw him she offered the same polite smile as before.
Arthur stopped a few steps away and let Desire Sight focus.
Pink-gold mist poured off her like heat from a stove. Threads wrapped around her waist and thighs. Words formed at the edge of his mind, clear and blunt.
[Repressed Desire: Wants to be fucked like a cheap whore for one night by anyone who will take her]
[Block: Husband has been soft for two years. Pride. Fear of being caught]
[Intensity: High]
Arthur’s pulse stayed steady. He walked the last few steps and rested one hand on the counter.
"Hello."
The woman’s smile flickered with mild surprise. Upstairs, invisible to everyone but him, Mimi hovered near the ceiling with both hands clasped under her chin, eyes shining with pure excitement.
