Chapter 95: Chapter 95: The Day Humanity Bled 2

The smell hit him the instant the double doors swung open: blood, charred flesh, burnt gear, sharp chemical antiseptic, and underneath all of it, the cold, suffocating stench of death.

?The main entrance hall had been turned into a battlefield hospital. Stretchers lined both walls, staff sprinted back and forth between makeshift beds, and exhausted healers stood with their hands glowing, fighting tooth and nail to keep people breathing.

Some screamed for high-grade potions. Some shouted for clean bandages. Others just stood frozen beside beds where heart monitors had already flatlined into a long, continuous beep.

?There were too many. Far too many.

?Felix stopped for only a fraction of a second. Then, he unleashed his mana.

?Bright emerald light erupted from his body. It flooded outward like a tidal wave, sweeping through the hallway, down the adjoining corridors, and spilling straight into the packed recovery rooms.

?At S-rank, his healing aura was on a level other medics couldn’t even dream of. It didn’t just patch up scratches; it poured warmth directly into failing bodies, soothing shredded mana channels, jump-starting failing hearts, and holding dying patients back from the edge of the grave.

?All around the hall, collapsing vitals suddenly held.

?A B-rank fighter whose breathing had slowed to a shallow wheeze suddenly gasped and pulled in a deep, clean breath.

?A young medic felt the faint, dying pulse beneath her trembling fingers jump back to a steady, rhythmic beat.

?Another healer stared in disbelief as the violent mana tremors tearing through his patient’s chest abruptly stopped.

?"What’s happening?"

?"His vitals... they’re stabilizing!"

?"Who did that?!"

?Someone turned toward the front doors and gasped.

?Standing in the entryway, dressed in simple black pajamas and indoor slippers, was Felix Valerius: waves of emerald light rolling off his shoulders like a green sea.

?"Felix is here!"

?The name spread down the crowded hall like wildfire.

?Pure relief washed over the faces of the exhausted medical staff. A few healers nearly collapsed where they stood.

They knew he couldn’t fix everything, but in a disaster this horrific, where every second meant another life lost, Felix could accomplish in seconds what an entire team couldn’t do in half an hour.

?Before anyone could run up to him, frantic footsteps hurried down the corridor.

?"FELIX! OVER HERE!"

?Elena Voss came running. Her hair was a wild mess, her jacket sleeve was torn, and her face was pale with soot and strain.

?Felix turned to meet her. "What are we dealing with?"

?"Later," she panted, grabbing his arm. "Three S-ranks are in critical condition. Their assigned doctors are completely out of mana. One of them has already flatlined. We’re running out of seconds."

?"Take me to them."

?Elena didn’t waste another word. She took off running, and Felix kept pace right behind her.

?They sprinted past rows of stretchers. Wounded heroes were groaning in agony, clutching torn armor and bloody limbs.

Through an open doorway, Felix saw a female healer slumped on the floor, weeping from sheer exhaustion, her hands trembling so hard a nurse couldn’t get a water bottle to her lips.

?They had pushed way past their human limits. And people were still dying in the hallways.

?Just hold on, Felix thought, his jaw clenched tight. Don’t give up yet.

?Elena slammed her palm against a heavy blast door. It hissed open, and she yelled, "Clear the room! Make space!"

?Felix stepped inside. For a moment, even his breath caught in his throat.

?Three beds. Three S-rank heroes. He recognized all of them: veterans who had cleared dozens of red gates, pillars of the continent’s defense force.

?Right now, all three were at death’s door.

?The first man had been torn apart. Everything below his hips was gone, his abdomen shredded open, his face as white as chalk.

A female healer stood beside him, her hands flickering with weak, dying sparks of green light. Empty potion bottles littered the floor around her feet.

?"I can’t stop the bleeding," she sobbed, her voice breaking. "Every time I patch an artery, another organ shuts down. I’ve used every potion we have! Please... there’s nothing left I can do!"

?The second hero was barely recognizable as a human being. Half his skull and face were charred black, the entire right side of his chest was melted to the bone, and his mana channels were crackling with wild, destructive static.

?The third hero had no visible burns or cuts, but his skin was a mottled, sickening shade of dark violet and sickly green.

?Felix recognized the signs instantly. A high-tier monster toxin. It had bypassed the man’s natural defenses and was ripping through his bloodstream like acid.

?"None of our antidotes are working," another medic said desperately. "The venom is eating his mana veins and his organs all at once."

?Felix’s eyes narrowed. The poison was lethal, fast, and specifically designed to kill awakeners. They had less than two minutes before all three died.

?"Everyone step back," Felix said.

?His voice wasn’t loud, but it cut through the room like a blade.

?The exhausted healers looked up, their bloodshot eyes finding him.

?"Doctor Valerius—"

?"Please save them—"

?Felix raised one hand. "Out of the way. Now."

?They stumbled back on shaking legs. Felix walked between the three beds, his eyes scanning each body with cold, sharp focus.

?These weren’t ordinary injuries. One crushed by pure brute force. One incinerated by abnormal heat. One melted from the inside by unnatural venom. Three completely different types of lethal damage, all happening in the exact same hour across different rifts.

?He shoved the thought out of his head. He could hunt the culprits later. Right now, three lives needed saving.

?Felix raised both arms.

?WHOOSH.

?A massive roar of emerald mana erupted from his palms. This time, it wasn’t a gentle wave. He compressed the energy, twisting and condensing the light until three thick streams rose from the floor.

They coiled into the air, hissing with raw power, shaping themselves into a massive, three-headed serpent of brilliant green light.

?Each glowing serpent head hung directly over one of the beds.

?The room fell dead silent.

?"Stay back," Felix ordered, his eyes glowing bright emerald. "Do not touch them, and don’t interrupt the mana, no matter what it looks like."

?"Is that... pure healing magic?" a young nurse whispered in terror and awe.

?The three serpent heads plunged down at once, swallowing all three bodies in blinding green fire.

?The moment the light sank into their flesh, the three heroes arched off their mattresses, their bodies convulsing violently.

?"Doctor, they’re seizing!" a medic yelled, reaching forward.

?"Don’t touch them!" Elena barked. "Let him work!"

?Felix poured his mind into the flow. His mana acted like microscopic hands, weaving through destroyed flesh, hunting down every spark of life.

He felt the first man’s dying heartbeat, the second man’s melted muscle fibers, and the corrosive venom eating through the third man’s veins.

?He pushed his control to its absolute limit.

?For the first hero, Felix didn’t just close skin, he reconstructed what had been lost. Muscle tissue sprouted from bone, severed arteries knit together, and organs reassembled out of raw mana.

?For the second hero, the charred, blackened skin peeled away like ash, replaced by fresh pink tissue, while his fractured mana channels were realigned and sealed smooth.

?For the third hero, Felix’s mana acted like a filter, hunting down every single droplet of poison in the bloodstream, neutralizing the venom before it could melt the liver, and jump-starting the man’s immune system.

?Minutes felt like hours.

?The emerald glow slowly settled, sinking deep into their skin. The serpent dissipated into tiny motes of light.

?Felix lowered his hands, letting out a slow, controlled breath.

?Silence hung heavy in the room.

?The heart monitors, which had been beeping frantic red warnings, now beeped in slow, steady green rhythms. Three men lay on their beds: breathing peacefully, skin healthy, severe wounds gone.

?"He’s... breathing," the female healer whispered, staring at the first man’s chest rising and falling.

?"All of them are alive," another medic choked out, slapping a hand over her mouth.

?The woman who had been treating the first hero dropped to her knees, burying her face in her hands and sobbing with pure relief. "I thought he was dead... I thought he was gone..."

?Felix wiped a drop of sweat from his temple.

"Keep them under tight watch. Their bodies are repaired, but their mana systems took a massive beating. Don’t let them stand up when they wake up." He glanced at the third bed.

"And draw a clean sample of that poison. Don’t throw it out, I want Association researchers running a full chemical breakdown on it immediately."

?Elena stood by the door, completely frozen.

?She had watched him work before, but seeing him literally rebuild three dying S-rank heroes from the brink of total destruction in under five minutes shook her to her core.

?This isn’t just talent, she thought, her throat tightening. This is something approaching a god’s work.

?She thought of all the politicians and guild leaders who complained about Felix’s attitude and his unorthodox methods. Those arrogant fools have no idea how lucky humanity is that this man is on our side.

?"Director Voss," Felix’s voice snapped her out of it.

?Elena blinked. "What?"

?"Where are the rest of the critical cases?"

?She straightened her shoulders instantly. "Main emergency hall. Dozens of A-rank and B-rank squads. Several are hanging on by a thread."

?"Lead the way."

?"Follow me."

?Elena spun around and ran out into the corridor.

As Felix followed, the young healer on the floor looked up, bowing her head low. "Thank you, Doctor Valerius! Thank you!"

?Felix didn’t slow down. "Save your thanks for later. Keep them alive."
