The Mad King's Heir
Chapter 149: Confession of love
"Since it’s not so busy that you can leave, it means our services aren’t required. Alex, tell Red Valkyrie to pack up. General Vane has everything under control," he continued to say before turning to leave.
He was seething with rage. He wanted to tear each and every one in this room apart, but he restrained himself. He had to get Li Jun out of here first.
"General Yu," the man called out as he blocked his path. He also thought it was ridiculous for him to personally escort Zi Rui, but he didn’t question the imperial queen’s decisions. He didn’t expect, though, that Yu Wen would react this strongly.
"I will discuss this with Her Majesty. Please reconsider," he said in a panic. If Yu Wen leaves, then they will be fucked.
Yu Wen met his gaze and said, "See to it." After saying that, he walked out, his intense aura lingering behind. Just because he left didn’t mean that the oppressive aura left with him.
Alex caught up and said, "Sir, are you really going to let them take him?"
Yu Wen’s steps halted. He turned to look at him. Alex knew this wasn’t his place to say anything, but he hadn’t seen Yu Wen this happy. He had known him for years, and this man walked around looking like someone owed him a lifetime of debt.
But ever since this person, whoever he was, came into his life, it was like a secret portal was opened, revealing another version of Yu Wen. How could Alex let them take that away from the general?
"I can smuggle him off the base, and you can reunite later," he suggested, already plotting how to do it. He was ready to commit the ultimate crime of treason with no hesitation.
The corner of Yu Wen’s lips curled, and he said, "No need. I will take care of it. Just keep an eye on them."
Alex smiled and replied, "Yes, sir. I am on it." He was going to stick to General Vane like white on rice.
Yu Wen walked towards his tent, his steps growing hurried the closer he got. When he got inside, Li Jun was playing cards with Yan Jia. The two of them didn’t even look at him when he entered. They continued playing cards like he didn’t exist.
He didn’t disturb them. He just sat close to Li Jun, waiting for them to finish. His gaze lingered on Li Jun’s handsome profile like he was trying to etch every inch of his skin in his heart. Li Jun was going to leave soon, and he wouldn’t be able to see him until this war was over.
Li Jun couldn’t stand the burning gaze, so he said, "Are you trying to make me lose? Are you two in cahoots?" He placed a card on the pile before looking at Yu Wen.
"No, I am just admiring your handsome face," Yu Wen replied with a flirtatious smile.
Yan Jia, exasperated by the pair of lovebirds, said, "Ugh!!! I am out. You two can flirt in peace." Li Jun didn’t even stop her. He was just glad the third wheel was gone so he could harass Yu Wen to his heart’s content.
He raised his leg underneath the table, and the tip of his toes slid up Yu Wen’s leg before pressing on his crotch. Yu Wen bit his lip while staring at the man who was fully intent on provoking him. He grabbed Li Jun’s leg, preventing him from getting away after starting a fire.
He massaged Li Jun’s foot, his fingers pressing hard at the ball. Li Jun instead of feeling a sense of relief, he was laughing while trying to pull his leg away. "Stop... please stop. It tickles hahahaha... Yu Wen, let go, or I will kill you hahaha," he threatened while laughing. He was fighting for his life at that moment.
Yu Wen stopped, but he would be lying if he said he didn’t want to continue. He didn’t tickle him anymore, but he didn’t let him go either. "Do you know that Xiu Ying issued an imperial decree to have you arrested and brought to the imperial capital?"
Li Jun knew. He just didn’t think she would be this impatient, especially when her daughter was being torn apart on StarNet. "Are you going to turn me in, General Yu?" he asked in a teasing tone, the smile on his lips bewitching.
"Why would I do that?" Yu Wen asked, but it was more of a declaration than a question. "You have to leave. I bought you time."
Li Jun didn’t want to go. He had been having the time of his life in the camp. He woke up when he pleased, the food was alright, and he could be around Yu Wen. Why would he want to give that up? But he also knew he couldn’t stay. He would be putting Yu Wen in a tight position.
"You really want me to go?" he asked, their gazes locked in an intense stare.
Yu Wen shook his head no. He wished he could protect Li Jun. He wished Li Jun could do whatever he pleased and be happy. Yu Wen would happily shield him from all storms and protect him from harm, but he was powerless right now. He could only watch as Li Jun was forced to go back.
"I want you to stay by my side night and day. It sounds cheesy, I know, but... that’s how I really feel."
Li Jun felt his cheeks heat up. He looked away while saying, "It does sound cheesy as hell."
Yu Wen’s hand shot up, and he grabbed Li Jun’s chin. Li Jun turned to look at him, and when their eyes met, Yu Wen said, "Li Jun, I love you. I know it’s hard to believe me given our past, but I love you with every fiber of my being."
"No matter what I am doing, my mind always strays towards you. I am always wondering if you ate, if you are happy or sad, if you miss me too. I love you so much it aches just not being with you."
