Chapter 136: Did Oshan Lie?

He still remembered that little dog-hole they had assumed was another path.

"Let’s forget it. So the entrance is not there. We have to focus on the Southern Ring River. There is still occasional spiritual fluctuation." Alpha Vaelis said and stood up.

"Owen, let them all divide the things they have gotten equally." He commanded and went out.

As soon as he left, an argument broke out.

"I lost eighteen men!" the Ironfang Shadow Lord snarled, slamming his hand onto the table. "And what did I get? A few herbs and some old weapons, yet you want to take a bite!"

The Lyris Shadow Lord’s face twisted. "You think you suffered? My people only got a few Starlight Grass and Moondew Flowers. If we give them out, does that even worth the people I lost?"

Blackthorn’s Shadow Lord’s face darkened. "We had a deal. No matter what we got, we would divide. And so we went different paths. Or else I would have sent people into every path."

The Vaelis Shadow Lord clenched his fists so hard the knuckles cracked. "Some paths were empty. We already knew that, and we had a deal. Don’t go back on your word now."

Vesper’s Shadow Lord stayed quiet for a long time, then lifted his eyes.

"This was all your Vaelis plan. We helped, and we lost people. What right do you have to take things from us? Or perhaps you were hiding something from us? I don’t think the great Shadow Lord of Vaelis needs to come out just to take back a few wild children and a rogue witch."

The tent fell silent all of a sudden.

It was true. They all had some doubt about this.

The Vaelis Shadow Lord stayed silent.

Owen spoke up, waving his hand. "Respected lords, don’t show discord at this time. Did you forget? The main purpose of this alliance was not to catch them, but to find the secret realm. Let’s not doubt ourselves."

He said it in a low voice, yet it held a conclusion that no further argument was allowed.

The lords were displeased, but it was not the time to part ways.

So they still agreed to divide what they got.

Of course, none of them took out the real amount they had gotten. All three who had obtained things kept almost half hidden inside their storage.

After settling all of these, they all went out.

The Vaelis Shadow Lord met Alpha Vaelis once more outside.

Owen also stood beside the Alpha and asked in a low voice, "My lord, what is your plan now?"

"Leave twenty of my personal guards in the gorge."

He turned to the Shadow Lords and said respectfully, "Elder Ange, thank you for your trouble. But I will need your help to check those caves once more."

"You have something in your mind?" Shadow Lord Ange asked.

"Hmm. Not sure. But didn’t you notice? Those caves each have their own specialty."

"Yes. And I am afraid after today more people may also keep their eyes on them." Ange tilted his face toward the leaving shadows.

"Let them be."

Alpha Vaelis’s brows knitted.

Others did not know, but he was deeply aware of those five defectives’ innate power.

They were born with those strange anomalies, and these caves strangely reminded him of their birth.

At that time, he was heartbroken.

Emma had been missing for so long, and when he finally found her, she was with another man, pregnant with a full litter of five pups.

He had wanted to kill those bastards right there, but for some reason, he could not bring himself to do it. He had a pipe dream that those pups were his.

Yet after they were born, nature acted up. The sky changed colors like it had gone crazy.

The thunder roared, and the rain fell, yet there was still sunshine, and a fiery red glow didn’t fade in the distance.

He knew right then that they could not be his sons.

He was a pure-blooded Eclipse-grade wolf spirit. There was no way his sons could be mixed blood.

And Emma was a neglected, abandoned she-wolf he had found in the far northern territory of the Lycan Empire.

She was all alone, gentle, and neglected.

She could not be someone who could give birth to a bloodline that could summon such an anomaly.

The only explanation was that mixed-blooded man she was with when she was missing.

He had wanted to kill those five newborns, but nature was against him, so he let them live. And seeing their innate power, he had raised them as his own sons.

He had always thought they would awaken as at least Eclipse-grade wolf spirits.

But who knew they would turn out to be defective?

If he had known, he would not have raised them all this time as his own sons.

That ungrateful woman and her pups had just gone against him, repaying his kindness with enmity.

He was looking at a distant cave and was reminiscing about his past foolishness.

Owen and Ange left a long time ago.

Luna Alisa slowly came behind him. She looked over the injured men and said softly,

"My Alpha, the poison is still spreading in their blood. If we do not treat them soon, even the stronger ones will be dead by night."

Alpha Vaelis glanced at her. "Prepare the carriages. We return to the palace first. The rest can wait."

Luna bowed once and turned to leave.

Her eyes turned cold.

Those defectives were still alive and even causing such a ruckus.

Did Oshan Dew lie to her?

Her heart was throbbing. Her mind was restless.

Everything she had planned so far was going to waste.

Even Alpha Vaelis seldom looked at her now. He was frequently going to the cold fortress of the 6th garrison. That bitch Emma still had her bewitchment on the Alpha.

As she walked past the tent and ordered the subordinates to prepare the carriages, her mind was filled with the memory of the last time she met Oshan.
