The Master and His Wealthy Fiancée

Chapter 565: Demonic Seed Outbreak, Heartbreak and Indignation

  • Next Chapter

No one could have expected that a Core Disciple of the esteemed Mo Palace would actually produce a Heaven-shaking Thunder Pearl saturated with Demonic Qi!

In that instant, before the Array Masters could even react, Leng Tong activated and detonated the Heaven-shaking Thunder Pearl.

BOOM~!!! A massive explosion erupted within the army.

The Array Masters suffered heavy casualties!

Leng Tong had already prepared his own defenses, but he was still covered in wounds from the blast. Drenched in blood amidst the carnage, he let out a wild laugh.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!!!

The explosion instantly drew the attention of Leng Xiuming and Baili Zhangtu, but it was all so sudden that it was too late for them to intervene.

His face contorted with rage, Leng Xiuming immediately subdued Leng Tong.

Heartbroken, he roared, “You are a disciple of Mo Palace and a member of the Leng Clan! Why would you do such a thing?”

Leng Tong just kept laughing. “BWAHAHAHA~!!! My Demon Lord will rule this world! He will slaughter every last one of you and devour you all! Bwahahaha…”

Leng Tong seemed to have gone completely mad.

Upon hearing this, Leng Xiuming and Baili Zhangtu frowned deeply. ‘The Demon Race?’ they thought. Examining Leng Tong again, they noticed a faint trace of Demonic Qi emanating from him. Since their army was in the Demon Realm, this subtle aura had gone completely unnoticed.

“I’ll kill you and offer your life to the spirits of our fallen clansmen!”

“Go on, kill me! The Demon Lord will avenge me! Bwahahaha…”

At the same time, a series of bloodcurdling screams erupted from within the army. Several thousand disciples, driven into a frenzy, were slaughtering their own comrades. These were all elites from the two sects—only the best had been chosen for this demon-subjugation campaign.

Leng Xiuming and Baili Zhangtu swept the area with their Divine Sense. They discovered that all these disciples were emitting Demonic Qi. Their expressions were wanton and crazed, and they were already showing demonic traits: bloodthirsty, vertical scarlet pupils and patches of dark scales growing on their skin.

“Subdue every last one of them!” Leng Xiuming roared.

He was utterly heartbroken. These were the prodigies of the Human Race, yet they had turned to the Demon Race. Among them was Leng Tong, a disciple he had held in extremely high regard.

Baili Zhangtu let out a long sigh. Many disciples from his Heart Slaying Hall were also among them. But the biggest loss was the Array Masters—a single Heaven-shaking Thunder Pearl had caused hundreds of casualties.

Leng Xiuming looked at where Qian Fangyu had been obliterated, took a deep breath, and asked Leng Tong in anguish, “He was your Martial Uncle, and he was so good to you! He cared for you deeply, and you repay him with this viciousness!”

Not a trace of remorse could be seen on Leng Tong’s face; instead, it was filled with contempt.

Baili Zhangtu interjected, “Brother Leng, this isn’t the time. We have to notify the other two allied armies immediately. If they’re facing the same situation, we’ll be in serious trouble.”

Leng Xiuming quickly agreed. “Right, right! My anger got the better of me!”

But by the time he took out his communication device, it was already too late. Varying numbers of demon-corrupted individuals had also erupted within the other two allied armies, and they were also launching suicidal attacks aimed primarily at their Array Masters.

Baili Zhangtu pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed again. “Alas, Brother Leng… what do we do now?”

“What else can we do? We kill them all! But even that won’t be enough to extinguish the rage in my heart or make amends to our fallen kinsmen!”

“My Demon Lord will reign supreme and look down upon all creation…”

Amidst their fanatical shrieks, the demon-corrupted disciples were struck down one by one, their bodies and souls annihilated.

Leng Xiuming’s hands trembled uncontrollably. ‘Demon Race,’ he thought, ‘I swear I will wipe you from existence!’

Baili Zhangtu saw Leng Xiuming’s inner turmoil and tried to console him. “Brother Leng, do not grieve. They can no longer be considered human. Their minds were corroded by Demonic Qi; their actions were not of their own will. They were puppets of the Demon Race. I knew the boy, Leng Tong, too. He would never have done something like this on his own.”

Leng Xiuming shook his head. “Brother Baili, you don’t need to console me. I understand that.”

The Array Masters in all three armies had suffered casualties to varying degrees. The progress on cracking the City Array was effectively delayed.

Yet, ten days later, the Array Masters managed to decipher a method to break the Array. They had pushed themselves past exhaustion, damaging their own Divine Sense and even sacrificing their lifespans to deduce the solution as quickly as possible.

After the battle against the corrupted, the hatred that both the Human Race and the Yao Race held for the Demon Race intensified.

After consulting with the other two allied armies, Leng Xiuming discovered that each had devised a different method for breaking the City Array. This was to be expected. The Dao of Arrays was endlessly complex; even a common Second Order Array could be deployed and broken in hundreds of ways. The slightest initial difference could lead to vastly different outcomes.

Fortunately, the City Array belonged to the same class as a Mountain Protection Formation; once deployed, it could not be easily altered. In just ten days, the Demon Race would not have had enough time to modify the Tier Six City Array. This was precisely why the Array Masters had been willing to harm themselves to find a solution so quickly.

If they took too long, the demons could alter the Array, forcing them to start their calculations from scratch.

Now that the means to break the Array were in hand, the three armies immediately began preparing for the first official assault.

Within Western Demon City, a look of frustrated anger appeared on Chi Huang’s face for the first time.

“Damn it! How did they figure it out so quickly? Never mind. It has come to this. Now we’ll see who is truly stronger.”

Just as he had this thought, his Divine Sense detected the Human Race’s army approaching.

Facing the human army, now dozens of miles away, Chi Huang once again rose into the air above Western Demon City. He activated his Demon Pearl once more, this time unleashing his full power to form dozens of Demonic Qi Tornadoes.

The vast Demonic Qi Tornadoes surged directly toward the human encampment.

Divinity Transformation Power could affect the soul itself. It was capable of inflicting effective damage on ordinary Golden Core or Nascent Soul Stage cultivators, even when they were protected by a formation.

Baili Zhangtu stepped forward once again. He let out a spiritual roar: “Sever!”
