The withered old man was taken aback. ‘So they’re a team!’ he thought. ‘Husband?’

Immediately, the old man cackled, “So you are the love of his heart, the ‘truth’ he seeks?”

Li Huiran shook her head and said, “Whether I’m ‘truth’ or not, I don’t know. What I do know is I didn’t keep a good eye on him in this life, and he went and picked up a few extra sisters for no good reason. I’m quite cross right now!”

Hearing this, the old man burst into laughter. “Heh heh heh… Interesting. You little girl are just as interesting as that boy! I have already chosen his body as my own, so I naturally won’t hand him over to you! You say you’ll make me suffer? Let’s see just how you plan to make me suffer without any Dao Essence!”

Li Huiran sighed softly. The bells under her red umbrella chimed crisply.

The withered old man’s eyes filled with utter terror. An immense pain, like being struck by lightning, wracked his divine soul!

“What kind of Cultivation Technique is that? And what Immortal Artifact is that?” The old man refused to believe that any random person from the Floating Shadow Realm who could wield an Immortal Artifact could possibly injure him.

“The Six Paths Technique, and an ordinary Immortal Artifact.”

‘Another person who holds a world within their heart?’

The withered old man didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. He had encountered two of these peerless prodigies today, and according to the girl, they were husband and wife!?

“Spit him out,” Li Huiran said softly.

The old man hesitated, wondering if he should swallow this girl too and reunite the couple. But his current Power of Divine Soul wouldn’t allow for such extravagance.

With a flash in his eyes, Demonic Qi flared up.

Li Huiran’s expression remained calm. A ruler appeared in her hand, growing with the wind and instantly freezing the flaring Demonic Qi in place.

‘Laws?’ The withered old man could see it now. Every treasure this girl used exuded the power of Laws.

But at that very moment, the withered old man’s eyes bulged. His abdomen swelled rapidly, and an unbearable pain wracked him, as if he were about to give birth.

The next instant, his abdomen exploded. Countless bolts of lightning burst forth, filling the entire abyss.

Chen Dong’s figure reappeared amidst the lightning.

The moment he saw Li Huiran, his mouth fell open, utterly speechless.

Li Huiran snorted and said, “You got out on your own. It seems I came for nothing!”

Chen Dong quickly said, “Not at all, not at all! I’m just happy to see you so suddenly!”

In truth, he had heard the entire conversation between Li Huiran and the old man, especially her self-introduction. The reason he was so shocked to see her was that her hair was once again long and black, pinned up high, and her attire was just like the Queen of Fuyuan Country from his memories.

Li Huiran sighed helplessly. “How much of your lifespan did you have to sacrifice to end up looking like this?”

This time, it was Chen Dong’s turn to have a full head of white hair. Although his facial features hadn’t changed much, he now had an air of ancient weariness.

The moment Li Huiran arrived, he had already sacrificed his lifespan to prepare the Thunder Array. It was too late to take it back.

Chen Dong grinned, saying nonchalantly, “Not much. Only two thousand years!”

Li Huiran pouted. “Doesn’t that mean you don’t have much left?”

A cunning glint appeared in Chen Dong’s eyes. “Don’t you know the Six Paths Technique as well? You can just use… ‘passion’ to transfer some back to me!”

Li Huiran blushed. With her memories awakened, she naturally knew what the Passion Transfer Divine Technique was.

“But… but my Red Dust Dao… it’s never been lit!”

Chen Dong chuckled. “Aren’t we husband and wife? What are you afraid of when I’m here?”

Li Huiran’s face grew even redder, and she hid her face under her red umbrella.

The withered old man’s divine soul was on the verge of dissipating, seemingly beyond recovery. Seeing this man and woman flirting right in front of him only stoked his rage.

‘At my Realm, I should have only needed a sliver of my Power of Divine Soul to subdue even a Mahayana Stage expert. But instead, I’d run into these two. I can’t help but feel that I was fated to be countered by them. They hold worlds within themselves and can manipulate Laws before even ascending to immortality.’

At this point, he remembered the Demon Race he had cultivated. ‘This boy before me is only at the Nascent Soul Stage, and the girl is likely about the same. Any Demon Marshal should have been able to take care of them easily.’

He tried to sense the positions of the Demon Marshals he had cultivated, only to be completely dumbfounded. All three Demon Marshals were gone—and they were Divinity Transformation Peak experts! There should have been no one in the Floating Shadow Realm capable of killing them.

“Fate! It’s just a divine projection, anyway! I will return to this place sooner or later!” After muttering to himself, the withered old man self-destructed his divine projection, vanishing from the world.

Watching the old man disappear, Chen Dong felt the relief of surviving a disaster. ‘If not for Liu Ling’s training beforehand, would I have even had the space to use my Dao Essence after being swallowed into the old man’s stomach?’

As the old man vanished, the Demonic Qi in the abyss began to weaken. Two figures descended at the same time. One was dressed in snow-white robes trimmed with fox fur, the other in a peach-colored dress, her face covered by a light veil.

Seeing these two women, one on his left and one on his right, Li Huiran huffed coldly. “Hmph! Once you’ve dealt with this, come find me at the Heart Slaying Hall on your own!” With that, she rode her red umbrella and departed.

Chen Dong felt a headache coming on, but he was relieved that, for once, the two women didn’t start fighting the moment they saw each other.

Suddenly, a thought struck Chen Dong. ‘It makes sense for Zisang Jin to be here, but didn’t Yun Mengshang succeed in severing her emotions? Why would she come too?’

As if guessing his thoughts, Yun Mengshang said, “I just came to see if my helper completed his task. Since you’re fine, I’ll be on my way.” She turned as if to leave.

But she suddenly stopped. “If you ever get bored, you can come find me in Immortal Fox City. I’ve recently become obsessed with music, and you seem to be quite skilled at it.” Then, she ascended and flew away.

Zisang Jin looked at Chen Dong’s head of white hair and couldn’t help but chuckle. “Just as expected. The Celestial Dao’s cycle is truly fair!”

「Two months had passed since the two races allied to fight the Demon Race.」 In the Celestial Mansion in Ningxian City, Murong Qing was sprawled boredly over a table.

“So boring! Where the hell did Chen Dong go! If Elder Zisang hadn’t sent word that he was safe, I would have gone looking for him myself!”

A resentful look crossed her face. “That damned Chen Dong! He won’t let me go on adventures, but he runs all over the place himself!”

A light chuckle came from behind her. “Who are you blaming now, my dear Miss Murong?”

Murong Qing’s face instantly lit up with a smile. “You deadbeat, running all over the place!”

She raised her hand as if to hit Chen Dong but stopped. She primly lowered it, bowed her head, and said softly, “Greetings, Sister Huiran.”

Li Huiran smiled faintly.

「Far away on Cyan Sword Peak of the Cyan Sky Sect.」 Tian Sisi stroked the tassel on her saber, the intent in her eyes growing more focused. ‘I must be close to mastering the Dao-slaying Sword.’

「Meanwhile, at the former site of the Demon Realm.」 The first group of tourists from the Jiuzhou Realm was on a tour. A guide was loudly explaining, “Don’t worry, everyone! The three major sects have cleared this area countless times. There’s no danger whatsoever. Just a few months ago, this was the most dangerous place in the entire Floating Shadow Realm…”

In the tour group was a woman wearing oversized sunglasses. Even though the sunglasses hid half her face, her exposed red lips and jawline were enough to make the other men in the group stare. Not only that, but her perfect figure also sent their imaginations running wild. Such was the woman’s charm that even the few other women in the group were not immune.

The woman, walking at the back of the group, suddenly twisted her ankle. She looked down and saw a bead half-buried in the ground. The bead seemed to pull at her, as if by magic.

The woman bent down and easily picked up the bead that had been firmly embedded in the earth.

Her assistant, who was posing as a companion, noticed the woman’s unusual movement and hurried forward to ask in a low voice, “Qin Yun, are you alright?”

Qin Yun gave a charming smile, one that was both natural and yet tinged with a hint of malevolence. “I’m fine.”
