The Mirror Master

Chapter 255: Pill Room, Scripture Pavilion, Artifact Storage

  • Next Chapter

It was hard to believe unless you saw it with your own eyes. Someone had managed to hollow out such a towering mountain and build four palaces inside. The craftsmanship was simply divine!

Of the four palaces, three were arranged around the center, corresponding to the Three Realms of Heaven, Earth, and Man.

The central palace was the largest, its architecture ancient and simple. It was surrounded by towering boulders, and a group of Nascent Soul Realm experts had already descended above them, rushing toward the palace in the middle.

Lu Bai’s gaze swept across the scene.

‘This must be the main tomb and three side tombs of Mo Yuan’s Tomb, just like the rumors said.’

Suddenly!

The Ancient Mirror on Lu Bai’s chest stirred slightly. Something seemed to be attracting it!

“Hm?”

Lu Bai’s expression shifted.

‘The last time the Ancient Mirror reacted like this was when I saw that Immortal Vine.’

‘It seems there really are some rare and exotic treasures buried in this great tomb!’

The force attracting the Ancient Mirror seemed to originate from the largest palace in the center.

But that was where a group of Nascent Soul True Monarchs had gathered.

‘Even if there were rare treasures, it probably wouldn’t be my turn to get them.’

But a flicker of doubt soon crossed Lu Bai’s mind.

‘If this is the first time the tomb has appeared, how did these rumors start spreading?’

‘Perhaps there were similar records from the past?’

Just then, from one of the three side palaces, the sound of scriptures being chanted echoed out.

The scriptures were profound and complex. At first listen, they seemed to contain some kind of ultimate principle of the Great Dao.

“That must be the Scripture Pavilion in the great tomb!”

someone exclaimed.

“Could the legendary *Talisman Manual* really be in there?”

The eyes of many Golden Core True Masters glinted with excitement.

The *Talisman Manual* was known as an unparalleled cultivation technique. According to legend, it recorded numerous Ancient Runes, many of which had been lost to time.

Mastering these Runes would provide enormous benefits, whether for making Talismans or for inscribing Restrictions during Artifact Refining!

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

One figure after another shot through the air, rushing toward the Scripture Pavilion.

At that same moment, rays of multicolored light burst forth from another tomb chamber, manifesting in midair as the shapes of numerous Divine Weapons and Treasures.

Treasure Swords, Long Sabers, Spiritual Boats, Ruyi scepters… they drew countless gazes.

“This must be Mo Yuan’s Artifact Storage from back in the day! It must hold the many Divine Weapons he forged!”

“Could the Ancient Exotic Treasure, the Execution Crossbow Cannon, be in there?”

“No way. The Execution Crossbow Cannon must be in the main tomb in the center.”

“Even without the Execution Crossbow Cannon, we’d still make a killing if we could get a few Supreme Magical Treasures!”

Many Golden Core True Masters charged toward the Artifact Storage.

Meanwhile, a medicinal fragrance suddenly wafted out from the third palace.

Everyone could smell it clearly, even from over a hundred feet away!

“It’s Mo Yuan’s Pill Room!”

“With a fragrance like this, there must be a Supreme Spiritual Pill inside!”

A gasp rippled through the crowd.

Spiritual Elixirs are divided into four tiers: Lower Grade, Middle Grade, Upper Grade, and Top Grade.

Being able to refine a Top Grade Spirit Pill is already considered extremely rare.

But even Top Grade Spirit Pills still contain a trace of impurities and aren’t perfectly pure.

Above Top Grade Spirit Pills are the legendary Supreme Spiritual Pills.

These Spirit Pills are exceptionally rare. They contain no impurities, are as clear as crystal and as translucent as colored glass. Their rich fragrance can be smelled from a hundred feet away, and their medicinal potency can reach a full 120%!

The two leaders from Wu Country, the True Masters of the Martial Dao Xu Changfeng and Jiang Qingsong, exchanged a glance.

Yue Qianshan and Xiao Qingyu had already entered the main tomb.

The next decision was up to the two of them.

The Scripture Pavilion, the Artifact Storage, the Pill Room.

All three side tombs contained treasures sufficient to attract numerous Golden Core Realm experts!

It was impossible to claim all the treasures within.

They could only choose one.

Xu Changfeng observed their surroundings.

The True Masters of the Martial Dao from the Great Li Country had split into two groups; one was heading for the Artifact Storage, the other for the Scripture Pavilion.

“Let’s go to the Pill Room. We’ll avoid them for now and see what treasures are there before deciding anything else.”

Xu Changfeng made his decision instantly.

Xu Changfeng and Jiang Qingsong gave a shout, leading the nine Wu Country generals behind them as they charged toward the Pill Room.

It would be foolish to start a big fight before even seeing any treasure.

Lu Bai didn’t follow the Wu Country generals. Instead, he charged directly into the Scripture Pavilion.

For him, the most appealing thing here was the *Talisman Manual*.

‘Then again, an unparalleled cultivation technique like that isn’t likely to be in a side tomb.’

‘But no matter what, with the Ancient Mirror’s help, obtaining some Cultivation and Martial Techniques would be the biggest boost for me.’

Lu Bai arrived before the main gate of the Scripture Pavilion.

Some Golden Core Cultivators had already gone ahead and pushed the gate open, and everyone was now filing inside.

Lu Bai blended in with the crowd and followed them in, but he frowned inwardly and scanned his surroundings.

‘Logically, a tomb like this should have some traps and mechanisms to prevent grave robbers.’

‘How did we get in so easily, without any resistance at all?’

‘There’s been no danger from the very start?’

‘Could it be that Mo Yuan thought hiding the tomb inside a mountain was concealment enough, so he didn’t bother leaving behind any safeguards?’

Inside the Scripture Pavilion, the light was dim and visibility was extremely low.

After entering, the sound of chanting that they had heard outside suddenly vanished, as if completely sealed off by the palace.

Someone lit a torch.

Others took out Luminous Pearls to illuminate the area.

Soon, the inside of the Scripture Pavilion gradually brightened.

The interior was completely empty and could be seen at a glance. There were no bookshelves, nor could any books or ancient texts be seen.

“It’s empty?”

“Could it have been cleared out already? Are we a step too late?”

The many Golden Core True Masters looked on, their expressions filled with shock and suspicion.

Lu Bai frowned slightly.

He had felt a faint sense of unease ever since entering this place.

The Yin Qi here was very heavy.

It was normal for a great tomb that had been sealed for many years to have heavy Yin Qi.

But this Yin Qi gave him a sense of déjà vu, as if it were…

“Look!”

“There’s writing on the walls!”

Just then, an exclamation came from not far away.

Someone who had been searching the Scripture Pavilion had reached the stone walls at the edge, and upon raising their torch, discovered that the walls were covered in inscriptions.

“So the scriptures are on the surrounding stone walls!”

At once, all the Golden Core True Masters rushed to the surrounding walls, raising their sources of light and staring greedily at the scriptures inscribed there.

Lu Bai was about to step forward when, by the surrounding light, he saw rows of sinister, Yin Qi-shrouded coffins placed at the base of the stone walls!

“Hm?”

Lu Bai’s heart skipped a beat, and he subconsciously halted.

It was normal for a tomb to have coffins, but these Golden Core True Masters seemed completely oblivious to the ones right next to them. Every single one of them was staring intently at the scriptures on the wall.

It was as if the scriptures possessed an indescribable magic, and the minds and bodies of these Golden Core True Masters were completely immersed, unable to pull themselves away.

TING-A-LING-LING!

A strange ringing echoed endlessly throughout the Scripture Pavilion.

‘The Corpse Heart Bell!’

Lu Bai’s heart pounded.

‘The Corpse Refining Sect!’

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Accompanied by a chilling sound, the lids of the coffins began to slide open slowly.

But the crowd of Golden Core True Masters standing before the stone walls seemed not to hear a thing, still lost in the scriptures.
