Genduo knocked gently on the door.

"Mr. Lemondaff, my friends are here."

"Come in."

"Yes."

Genduo opened the door for Sean's group and motioned with his eyes for them to enter, but he did not go in himself.

He could act like a friend around Sean without any inhibitions, but in front of the Chairman, he knew not to overhear things that weren't for his ears.

Inside the room.

A head sat on the office desk. In the executive chair behind it was a middle-aged man of about fifty.

Seeing Sean's group enter, he glanced at his watch and said, "Good. You're not late."

Yisha turned her head to the side and rolled her eyes.

'Old bastard. He really thinks he's the one in charge.'

"Sit," Lemondaff said.

He sized up the group, his gaze finally landing on Sean.

"You must be Sean?"

Sean smiled and nodded. "Hello, Mr. Lemondaff."

"Let's get straight to business." Lemondaff looked him directly in the eye. "Genduo tells me you want to make a move against the Kovloki Family?"

Sean countered, "And you don't, Mr. Lemondaff?"

Lemondaff didn't answer. "Do you have any idea how powerful the Kovloki Family is?"

Sean looked at him. "Are you afraid, Mr. Lemondaff?"

"Whether I'm afraid is not important," Lemondaff said. "What's important is that I have all these brothers to think about. Why should I believe you can stand against the Kovloki Family, and not that you're just leading us to our deaths for nothing?"

Sean glanced at the head on the desk. "Isn't this enough?"

"Not enough," Lemondaff said. "Some punk who just had his Breakthrough to Tier Six. If I wanted to, I could kill him myself. But what about Bofunova?"

Tier Six was the level with the greatest power disparity among Wizards. The difference in Magic Power between a Wizard who had just achieved a Breakthrough and a veteran Tier Six Wizard could be twofold, threefold, or even fourfold.

Killing Midi didn't mean they could kill Bofunova, let alone defeat the Kovloki Family's hundreds of thousands of Witch Hunters. Ever since Freedom Manor was destroyed, the Wizards of Sonaros State had never gathered again. Bofunova had crushed their confidence, and no one wanted to die. This meant they would have no outside support. To put it bluntly, with the few people in the White Bear Organization, forget taking Kovloki Castle—they probably couldn't even take down a single branch or asset of the Kovloki Family.

"So you've been on your knees for so long you've forgotten how to stand?" Elvire asked coldly.

She was not as tactful as Sean.

From the moment she first saw this so-called guild headquarters, Elvire had lost any good impression she might have had of the White Bear Organization.

It wasn't because of the smell of smoke or liquor—smoking and drinking were personal habits, and none of her business. What she cared about was the lifestyle of these Wizards. Lemondaff seemed provoked by Elvire's words. He retorted angrily, "You outsiders don't understand anything!"

"You don't understand how terrifying that woman, Bofunova, is!"

"The White Bear Organization may be small, but our lives still have value! As Chairman, I am responsible for every single one of them!"

"So, unless you can prove you have the strength to defeat Bofunova, this partnership... is off the table."

"Prove my strength…" Sean chuckled. "Simple enough."

"I wonder, Mr. Lemondaff, how do you compare to Bofunova?"

Lemondaff's expression visibly darkened. "Why do you ask?"

Sean: "It will help me get a rough estimate of her power."

Lemondaff snorted. "I'm a bit weaker than she is."

"Just a bit? That's great." Sean snapped his fingers. "Elise."

Elise snapped to attention. "Yes, Master. Your orders?"

Sean: "Kill Mr. Lemondaff. Let's show him who's more powerful, us or Bofunova."

Elise: "Yes, Master!"

Lemondaff: "???"
