The Peerless Beauty Stuck With Me
Chapter 1805 - 1803: Proud to Be a Dad (Part 2)
"Dad, it's right here, come over quickly. There's a lot of little things inside, and I've got them all under control."
Tang Rao was relieved that Tang Xiaobai stayed in the cave because he found it fun, so he never came out. It was safer in the cave, as the Demon Beasts were limited in size; no matter how much they hated Tang Xiaobai, they couldn't cause much trouble. But stepping outside was different.
He's so small, not even enough for a mouthful for a Demon Beast.
"You little rascal, you're smarter than I thought, hiding in there all the time. Are you trying to scare your old man to death?"
Tang Rao hugged Tang Xiaobai and rubbed his head twice while holding him close.
A perfectly fine son was being treated like a toy by Tang Rao. Tang Xiaobai didn't want to go through that experience again.
"Dad, I'm not as foolish as you. These Demon Beasts grow larger once they get out. If I went out, I'd definitely be eaten. The Demon Beasts in here are so obedient. I can play around with them however I want; doesn't that make me look quite impressive?"
Given his young age, Tang Xiaobai's thinking was quite dangerous. The more Tang Rao observed him, the more he felt like his son was evolving into a gang leader, and this feeling was very strong!
But this wasn't a country with five thousand years of historical development, where values like benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, trust, and harmony are emphasized, and murder is illegal. In the Divine Realm, it's different; the emphasis is on power. Whether it's wealth or strength, being powerful enough to earn awe and respect is the ultimate truth!
After working through these thoughts, Tang Rao felt that Tang Xiaobai's temperament wasn't too bad. At least he wouldn't be bullied in the future!
"Son, you're so smart, I'm truly proud to have you as my son!"
"Oh, stop pretending. You were just about to lecture me, and now you're bragging to me!"
Tang Xiaobai knew very well that Tang Rao disliked his behavior, but he insisted on it.
As long as Tang Xiaobai thought something was right after weighing it mentally, he would stick to his opinion and maintain his stance, without letting the thoughts of previous generations influence the choices of the young ones.
"Hey, I say, you little rascal, can't you speak properly?"
Tang Rao did everything for Tang Xiaobai. Even the heavens should be moved by his dedication, yet why haven't those efforts touched Tang Xiaobai?
"Dad, I'm telling you, we're now in a new era. There's a generation gap between us. Don't try to control me with your thinking. I have my own ideas, alright?"
For the first time, Tang Xiaobai was speaking to Tang Rao with an adult tone, making Tang Rao feel like Tang Xiaobai wasn't a child at all, but rather a seasoned middle-aged man.
"There's something I, as your father, must say: Sometimes I really wonder if you came to this life just to give me trouble?"
This guy must have had a grudge against Tang Rao in a past life, so now he's here to create trouble, to exact revenge and settle scores!
"With so many ways to cause trouble, why would I demean myself by choosing to be reborn as your son? Dad, it's important for a person to have self-awareness, but I think you haven't grasped the essence of this phrase yet!"
Tang Xiaobai indiscriminately criticized Tang Rao from top to bottom, showing no regard at all, just for the sake of speaking his mind without realizing that the person he's bickering with is his own father!
"Fine, you're my son, so I concede, Dad admits defeat."
What was Tang Rao saying to Tang Xiaobai?
Saying too much would only infuriate himself.
Instead of arguing, it would be better to find out where the little Demon Beasts came from—at least that would be more useful!
"Alright, I'll find some time to talk to you properly. Right now, I don't have time to argue over irrelevant things!"
No time to argue? Then why did Tang Xiaobai see Tang Rao arguing so happily earlier?
Tang Xiaobai kept these thoughts to himself, knowing that speaking them out loud might infuriate Tang Rao, who was quick-tempered. What if he decided to sever their father-son relationship?
The cave was quite large, and the further they walked, the more it revealed hidden wonders.
When Tang Rao was about to enter, Granny Hua and the others had already taken a look around inside and were making their way back out.
"No need to go in; it's just a tunnel formed by the Demon Beast clan's Array, nothing significant. We've just sealed the tunnel, so the Demon Beasts won't bounce back out. You can rest assured!"
The Demon Beast tunnel being sealed was great news. Although how the tunnel was formed was unknown, Tang Rao still wanted to say that the immediate crisis was solved, returning things to calm. But the calm was temporary; if the Demon Beast clan could form one tunnel, a second was foreseeable, followed by a third and fourth...
To ensure safety, there must be no relaxation regarding the Demon Beast clan. This wasn't just Tang Rao's responsibility; the entire Northern Island and even human inhabitants across the Divine Realm need to pay attention. Only by united effort can the Demon Beast clan be eradicated!
"The first tunnel is gone; do you think there are other tunnels on Northern Island or elsewhere, or could they create another to smuggle all those little critters over next time?"
What worried Tang Rao also worried Tang Xiaobai. There were things Tang Xiaobai, as a prophet, could anticipate, but others he couldn't—like the Demon Beast tunnel; he had no clue.
When he tried to predict, his mind came up blank, unlike before, when things were clear as day with a bit of computation.
"Who knows? If we knew, they wouldn't have gotten in so easily this time!"
Hua Wuque always paid close attention to changes from all directions, yet even he hadn't noticed this issue, so others certainly hadn't.
"Well, let's head back. This batch of Demon Beasts has been dealt with; we don't know when the next will arrive."
Tang Rao's scalp was almost bald from the constant worry over so many things, now also fretting over the masses' safety and well-being. Life like this wouldn't be sustainable for long!
"Forget Northern Island; similar situations might occur elsewhere. The real fear isn't Demon Beasts appearing on Northern Island or other islands. They've never been the scariest thing; it's human hearts that are truly terrifying!"
Indeed, it's always been human hearts that are terrifying. Though everyone knows how frightening human nature can be, attempts to fully comprehend it have remained out of reach.
"With soldiers coming, we block; with water, we obstruct. Whoever released the Demon Beasts must be fuming. What we should wait for now is for that person to reveal themselves. Whoever is idle enough to play with lives so carelessly, if we find out who they are, the first target for Xiaobai's new weapon will be them, no mercy!"
Tang Xiaobai's temper might be quirky, but he always maintained a deep respect for life.
Sometimes he wouldn't harm even a tiny bug.
Seeing thousands of Demon Beasts charge out, trampling innocent people to death beneath them, and hearing the cries of agony, his fury burned hotter than his small stature.
"Didn't realize my son was quite righteous, not at all like earlier with the gang lord aura. Makes me, as a father, extremely proud!"
Tang Xiaobai pretended not to hear this remark.
Who knew who said it earlier—that Tang Xiaobai came just to exact revenge on Tang Rao—and now they're saying Tang Xiaobai makes Tang Rao proud. Isn't this just slapping your own face?
"These little Demon Beasts are still in the cave; Dad, are you going to kill them all?"
