Chapter 1916 - 1915: Something Fishy

"You just want that? No problem, as long as you get this done, I'll give you as much as you want, even cover your lifetime supply of cosmetics."

For Tang Rao, who had reached such a status, cosmetics were nothing. Anything money could buy was considered insignificant now.

"Deal. I'll first find out where Rao Linger is. I haven't seen any sign of her on the Central Island lately. I suspect she's on the North Island, but I don't know exactly where."

"Where could she go on the North Island if not to my place?"

"No problem, even owing ten favors is fine. If my big sis helps me, I'm willing to do anything in the future."

Tang Rao's sweet-talking was current, but Tang Qingqing rolled her eyes. He agreed so readily, who knows if he'll go back on his word and refuse to serve as her errand boy later?

"Rao Linger, are you here?"

The whole process of the empty ground turning into a grassy field was watched by Rao Linger. Hearing Tang Qingqing call out, she wanted to hide, but then thought she hadn't done anything wrong, so why worry about being harmed?

"Are you looking for me?"

Staying in someone else's place, Rao Linger felt a bit guilty. Luckily, Tang Qingqing's pleasant appearance was not threatening or oppressive. Rao Linger came out, cautiously looking at Tang Qingqing.

"But how did you know I was here?"

She never hoped Tang Rao would forgive her or reconcile, just that he wouldn't hate her, treating her worse than a stranger.

Rao Linger did find it difficult to maintain a relationship; she didn't want to be laughed at, which would make her life even less meaningful.

"I'm serious. I'm Tang Rao's sister, Tang Qingqing. You should trust that I wouldn't deceive you."

What benefit would Tang Qingqing have from deceiving Rao Linger?

"I believe you, but does it really matter if I do?"

Tang Rao could never agree to be with Rao Linger, nor did he want to see her. So what does it mean to reconcile, to go back to the time before their fallout?
