The Peerless Beauty Stuck With Me

Chapter 1940 - 1939: The Moon Is Very Round

Tang Rao had the old man spinning in circles, establishing an incredibly good revolutionary relationship with him, while things were much more complicated on Chen Jingyi's end.

"Man Man, there's something I think we need to talk to you about separately."

Chen Jingyi wasn't used to discussing such blunt topics with Tang Rao, so she gave Wang Han a look to let him speak instead.

"We're all sisters, whatever you want to say, just say it."

Man Man was really not accustomed to their formal demeanor.

"Well, the reason we didn't tell you right away before was that we were worried it might be too much of a shock, so now we're telling you so you can accept it gradually and digest it properly."

Wang Han was uncharacteristically reserved for once.

"What? Why do you all look so serious, did I say something wrong?"

Man Man suddenly had a bad feeling.

"You didn't say anything wrong; you indeed have a bad feeling. What I need to tell you now is, if you want to rescue our lady, you have to become the Young Master's woman."

Become the Young Master, which is Tang Rao's woman?

Man Man was stunned when she heard it; she never thought she could become the Young Master's woman.

"Could you tell me why?"

The other women just went along with it, after all, they all liked Tang Rao, and being with Tang Rao while also rescuing the lady seemed like the best outcome.

Only Man Man asked for the reason, she simply wanted to know why she was being asked to do this, which didn't seem unreasonable.

"That's how the prophecy goes; it once said that we five women are like five fingers, and the Young Master is like a heart. The five fingers are connected to the heart, and if one finger moves, the heart will ache too. So, the connection of the five fingers to the heart also implies that we will be united like never before, and only then can we move Heaven and have our lady released."

Wang Han's explanation, whether credible or not, Man Man didn't know, but she decided to believe Wang Han for now.

"So the Young Master also agrees to this?"

Man Man asked, and the four women nodded in unison.

"Not only does he think so, but he might even strongly approve of this, do you believe it?"

The other women all believed, but whether Man Man did or not, was her belief that important?

"Alright, as long as none of you have objections, then I don't have any either, whatever you want."

Whatever you want? This concerns a woman's integrity; if everything is up to them, then their sin would be great.

"You need to think carefully; Tang Rao brought you here for this reason. We want you to willingly do these things, if you're forced, your future won't be perfect. Would you agree to that?"

Would she agree?

Because when it came to this, Man Man didn't reject it as she imagined she would.

"I guess I would agree."

How could a girl immediately say 'I agree'? At most, she'd say 'I guess I agree', with a touch of uncertainty included, so her answer doesn't sound too straightforward or make her seem too easy.

"We've made our side clear, she has no problems, but I'm still worried, Tang Rao, will you forget your original intention because of these things, forget what true love is?"

Original intention, true love?

He hadn't thought about those things at all; the only thing he thought about was rescuing his mother quickly and defeating Heavenly Dao.

"To me, those things don't matter, all that matters is when my mother can be released."

This was Tang Rao's true heart; he didn't want to lie or deceive them at all.

"Alright, now you don't have time to think about what true love is, maybe you'll have time once your mother is released."

The women were silent seeing the messages from Illusion City; this is Tang Rao's answer to them.

Before his mother is released, they really don't count for much; only if they later achieve something valuable that truly wins Tang Rao's favor might he appreciate them from a standpoint of love.

"Okay, once my mother is released, give me a little time, and I believe I can give you all a satisfactory answer."

Alright, they've waited a lot of time already, what can this little time be worth?

"Alright, we'll wait for you, and hope you can fulfill your promise."

The five women have sacrificed so much for love, they too wanted to know what their efforts amounted to in Tang Rao's eyes.

The night Tang Rao sleeps in the same bed as Man Man, the stars aren't bright, the moon is very round, half-covered by thin mist, making the whole night feel mysterious.

When Man Man woke from her blush, Tang Rao, who was sleeping beside her, had disappeared.

Where did he go? They only slept until dawn, how come when she woke, Tang Rao was gone, had he not slept at all?

"What's going on?"

Man Man asked herself, yet she didn't know how the person who clearly slept beside her suddenly vanished.

With questions in her mind, she got up and went out. Tang Rao hadn't gone anywhere; he was exercising outside the door.

"You're up so early."

When Man Man spoke to Tang Rao, she didn't know how to address him and couldn't meet his eyes. Just a look from Tang Rao made Man Man become tongue-tied.

"Not really that early, the day is already bright."

Tang Rao did not mention a word about last night, which made Man Man feel very disappointed.

Can last night really be treated as though it never existed, or was her being with Tang Rao merely a task, and once completed, nothing mattered?

"Young Master, when are you going to Central Island?"

If private matters can't be discussed, surely she could discuss business?

"If nothing unexpected happens, tomorrow."

Tang Rao's task on South Island is complete; just as they previously told the old man, they were only staying at Island Master Mansion for three days, leaving within three days at most, and now leaving earlier is considered mission accomplished.

"Alright, I'll go pack my things."

Man Man didn't tell her father about her being with Tang Rao; she was afraid she was just dreaming, and when that dream ended, she wouldn't dream it again.

Then how could she tell the old man this was her willing choice, not forced?

"Go ahead, pack a bit more, who knows when we'll be back next."

It could be soon or a lifetime before they return; now nobody knows.

"Okay."

One speaks, one responds, under Man Man's surprisingly understanding and obedient demeanor hides her deep melancholy.

The next day arrives quickly; the group waits at the Island Master Mansion's door, they just need Tang Rao to come, and they'll set off.
