The moment the Light God King’s presence vanished, the Light Faction’s members lost all will to fight. Without the Light God King, the Light Faction was nothing more than a massive, unguarded slab of meat, ripe for anyone to come and take a bite. Plenty of hungry wolves were already circling outside the headquarters.

Sun Qingnian had been monitoring the Light Faction through his informants the entire time. The moment he received confirmation of the Light God King’s death, he leaped to his feet in excitement.

“Han Wu, you actually pulled it off!” Sun Qingnian exclaimed.

He immediately reopened the hidden channel and added all the anonymous faction leaders back to the group before sending a single message: “The light has fallen. Confirmed!”

That one message sent shockwaves through every faction.

Outside the Light Faction’s headquarters, gates opened at full power. Major Gods and even God Kings appeared in person, leading their units straight into the headquarters.

The Light God King was dead. What was left to fear?

The buildings throughout the headquarters had been constructed from precious resources, some of which had been taken from these very factions. Now, they had come to reclaim everything.

Old grudges and past humiliations all came pouring out at once. Players from every faction in the Divine Civilization swarmed the entire headquarters.

A few die-hard Light Faction loyalists still refused to believe that the Light God King had fallen. They tried to invoke his old reputation to frighten the invaders away.

“If you leave now, His Majesty will overlook your transgressions.”

“If you insist on staying, don’t blame His Majesty for being merciless!”

Some of the invaders hesitated. The Light Faction had bullied them for so long that their fear of the Light God King had become instinctive. The ones who had come for vengeance ignored the warnings entirely and ordered their units to charge.

Everything of value was either carried off or destroyed on the spot. The principle was simple: leave nothing behind for the Light Faction.

The bolder ones rushed straight in to claim their share of the spoils. The meeker ones waited until they confirmed that the Light God King’s presence was truly gone before they went in.

Sun Qingnian kept posting in the channel, confirming the Light God King’s death and rallying more hostile factions to join the raid. Based on the reports from his informants, he was confident that the Light Faction would never recover after that day. Their home had been gutted, and they had nothing left with which to rebuild.

Inside the Light God King’s divine realm, the realm itself had started to collapse following his death.

Han Wu seized the chance and used Stellar Plunder on the Light God King’s corpse, pulling numerous Microcosms into his possession.

Converting so many Microcosms into his own would take time. The corpse itself was also a treasure, so Han Wu froze and stored it in his divine realm for later use.

He then used his Origin Microcosm to consume and absorb the crumbling divine realm. As his Origin Microcosm expanded, the divine realm steadily shrank until only its Core remained in his hand.

It was a perfect Core, upgraded to Level 50, the maximum level, and fitted with a complete set of Rank 10 Sacred Objects. Its value was immeasurable, so Han Wu stored it in his own divine realm.

While Han Wu was handling the spoils, Jing Jing had recalled the skeleton sea into her own divine realm. She hadn’t competed with Han Wu for any of the other resources because the skeleton sea itself was her greatest reward. Once she fully absorbed it, she would reach the threshold to unlock the Soul Jurisdiction’s second effect.

After collecting everything, Han Wu and Jing Jing appeared inside the Light Faction’s headquarters.

Their sudden arrival caught Jia Gui and Elina completely off guard. The two had been tangled up with each other the entire time.

Elina quickly put distance between herself and Jia Gui before demanding an answer from Han Wu. “How are you two out here? Did you receive a pardon?”

She couldn’t fathom the possibility that the Light God King she worshipped had lost to Han Wu and Jing Jing.

“If I were you, I’d check whether the Light God King still exists. Take a look at your surroundings while you’re at it,” Han Wu said.

After Han Wu and Jing Jing had invaded the Light God King’s divine realm, Elina had immediately gone after Jia Gui. She wanted him dead. Once the Light God King’s Purification cleared her mind, the memory of her behavior over the past few days had left her feeling deeply violated. Killing Jia Gui was the only way to wash away that humiliation.

Sadly for her, Jia Gui was a master of escape. Few in the entire Divine Civilization could match him when it came to fleeing, so dodging Elina was child’s play.

Elina was smart. She knew Jia Gui was in love with her, so she threatened to kill herself unless he came to her side.

Jia Gui loved her so much that despite being a coward to the bone, he actually obeyed.

Elina struck the moment he came within reach. Thankfully, Jia Gui was still a World fighter. He managed to restrain her, and the two had been locked in a stalemate ever since.

After Han Wu’s warning, Elina reached out with her senses, praying for the Light God King’s response. Horror gripped her when she realized that she couldn’t detect him at all. It was as if the Light God King had never existed.

“Impossible! You’re lying! Great light, illuminate the truth and save your children...” Elina cried out, but no answer came.

Deep down, she already knew that the Light God King had most likely fallen. She simply refused to accept it.

Jing Jing looked at Elina and drew out Evilspawn. She considered Elina a threat and wanted to end her now.

Jia Gui rushed forward to stop her, but Jing Jing listened to no one except Han Wu.

With no other choice, Jia Gui pleaded with Han Wu. “Brother Han Wu, this is the first time I’ve ever truly fallen for someone. Please, just do me this one favor. I swear I’ll spend the rest of my life repaying you.”

The sincerity on his wrinkled face was evident. Han Wu could clearly see that Jia Gui was hopelessly in love with Elina, even though his feelings were entirely one-sided. It was practically killing the old man.

By then, Jing Jing had already pinned Elina down and was about to bring Evilspawn across her throat.

“Don’t kill her!” Han Wu shouted.

Jing Jing stopped immediately and waited for his instructions.

“I’ll destroy her divine realm and seal all of her powers. From now on, she stays in your divine realm as a powerless prisoner. Do you agree?” Han Wu asked Jia Gui.

Jia Gui looked at Elina with a pained expression. He knew this was the absolute limit of what Han Wu would accept. Elina carried the Light God King’s bloodline, so leaving her uncontrolled would invite endless trouble.

“Fine. I’ll keep her locked in my divine realm for the rest of her life,” Jia Gui said through gritted teeth.
