The challenge ended with the Jade Dragon Emperor’s declaration. Every Great Dragon and Ancient Dragon Clan member stared at Han Wu with admiration. He had proven himself with raw power.

The five Dragon Kings had long since lost their earlier arrogance. They had been convinced the moment the Jade Dragon Emperor threw itself in front of them to block that lethal breath. Seeing Han Wu actually wound the Jade Dragon Emperor only turned their shock into pure respect.

After all, they had fought the Jade Dragon Emperor before, and even the five of them combined couldn’t crack a single scale on its body.

Han Wu naturally became the center of attention at the banquet that followed. The Great Dragons sang his praises and the Ancient Dragon Clan members toasted him repeatedly until everyone was thoroughly drunk.

Afterward, Long Qi escorted Han Wu back to his room.

The prospect of conversing with Long Qi again excited Han Wu, and he quickly used his Conversion Jurisdiction to purge the alcohol from his system.

Long Qi had actually chosen to escort him because he had something to say. “It’s only been a little over two months since we last saw each other. I originally planned to set up some training opportunities for you, but your growth has already surpassed anything I imagined.”

“You flatter me, Senior Long Qi,” Han Wu said modestly.

“You performed exceptionally well this time. Knowing the Jade Dragon Emperor, it’ll definitely find a reason to bring you back to the Great Dragons and present you to the Nine-Faced Dragon God,” Long Qi said. “The Nine-Faced Dragon God is an extremely powerful being from another foreign civilization. Long ago, it harbored ambitions of swallowing the Divine Civilization, but the strongest God King of that era drove it back.”

Han Wu nodded. “Long Xiang mentioned that the God King of Destruction repelled the Nine-Faced Dragon God.”

“The God King of Destruction. What a nostalgic name.” Long Qi sighed wistfully, a fellow powerhouse from that same era. His voice then took on a grave solemnity. “So remember, if the Nine-Faced Dragon God brings up the God King of Destruction, you cannot reveal that he’s been missing for years.”

Han Wu nodded. This concerned the safety of the entire Divine Civilization. He had to take it seriously.

“The fact that you accepted the invitation to the Ancient Dragon Clan’s secret realm tells me you’re a good kid. The future of the Divine Civilization rests on people like you.” Long Qi patted Han Wu’s shoulder with an encouraging smile before pulling a blood-red jade pendant marked with patterns of dragons from his pocket. “I noticed you have a Microcosm Divine Weapon that’s starting to fall behind your strength. This Dragon Blood Jade Pendant can upgrade a Microcosm Divine Weapon once. Consider it my thanks for keeping the Divine Civilization’s secret.”

“Senior Long Qi, safeguarding the Divine Civilization is the duty and responsibility of every God. I’ll hold the line no matter what,” Han Wu declared with righteous conviction.

Despite his words, his grip on the Dragon Blood Jade Pendant remained iron-tight, clearly having no intention of returning it. Han Wu’s blatant shamelessness had Long Qi feeling more at ease. With a personality like that, forget the Great Dragons. Han Wu would come out on the bottom, even in the most desolate reaches of the Black Prison Civilization.

The night passed without incident.

The next morning, Han Wu received a notification from the Ancient Dragon Clan. Long Qi wished to invite him to become an honorary member.

This came with many of the expected privileges. An honorary member enjoyed every benefit a regular member had, but without any of the responsibilities. All he had to do was lend a hand if the Ancient Dragon Clan ever faced a crisis, though only as long as it was within his ability to do so.

Han Wu had no reason to refuse these generous terms and thus became the first honorary member in the Ancient Dragon Clan’s history. It wasn’t just a title, but also a credential that granted him access to all the Ancient Dragon Clan’s cumulative knowledge. He could even pull the unit profiles of every clan member and use the data to cultivate his own units.

There was even a chance he could cultivate a Dragon Emperor, just like Long Qi. Becoming an honorary member was an incredible treasure to Han Wu.

As Long Qi had predicted, the Jade Dragon Emperor sought Han Wu out after the celebration banquet and expressed its desire to bring him back to the Great Dragons.

Its main reasons were the Defier title and Han Wu’s strength. The Jade Dragon Emperor believed Han Wu’s potential was no less than its own and wanted to establish a friendly relationship before he fully matured. That way, negotiations would go more smoothly once he grew into someone even the Great Dragons had to take seriously.

Long Qi had already informed Han Wu that the trip was non-negotiable. He would end up having to go whether he wanted to or not. Knowing this, Han Wu agreed on the spot and saved himself the headache.

The Jade Dragon Emperor was thrilled. It immediately dug into its Microcosm and showered Han Wu with treasures. Among them were numerous items that could enhance draconic attributes. Han Wu nearly drooled at the sight.

Their departure was set for three days later. In the meantime, Han Wu retreated into his divine realm and put every reward to use.

The Yinglong was the ultimate tier of Han Wu’s Dragon Enhancement Path for his core race and needed to be strengthened. He fed every draconic treasure he’d collected to the Yinglong King.

After absorbing a massive amount of Dragon Energy, the Yinglong King underwent a reversion and transformed itself into an egg. It would digest the energy within the shell and only evolve once it emerged. Its evolution path would improve from there.

Han Wu also used the Dragon Blood Jade Pendant on Peerless. In just two hours, Peerless completed its upgrade and became a Mesocosm Divine Weapon.

The upgraded Peerless was no longer a plain white blade. Crimson veins ran across its surface like a web of blood vessels, channeling energy.

Its techniques didn’t change much, with the nine Peerless Slashes being preserved. The only addition was a passive skill called Crimson Dragon Soul. This allowed it to absorb enemy blood to nurture the dragon soul within the blade.
