Chapter 342: Entering the White Bone Forest

The ten-mile road from Blackrock town to the edge of the White Bone Forest only took less than fifteen minutes riding horses at full speed.

When the convoy just crossed over a bare rocky hill, the entire twenty Green Wind Steeds currently galloping suddenly simultaneously neighed in terror, four hooves braking hard on the hillside and absolutely not daring to step forward even exactly one step! Because right at the foot of this rocky hill was exactly the boundary dividing between life and death of the Great World — the edge of the White Bone Forest.

Standing from the hillside looking down, a terrifying and desolate to the point of suffocating scene stretched endlessly all the way to the horizon in the Northwest.

A thick ash-gray fog wall hundreds of meters high stood erect like a giant prison cage covering entirely the entire primeval forest thousands of square miles wide, isolating completely the afternoon sunlight from the world inside. Through the blurry gaps of the fog screen, people could see millions of soaring high ancient tree trunks that were once the pride of the Eternal Forest. However now, on those giant tree branches there was completely not a single green leaf!

The entire tree barks, tree trunks, and the root clumps sprouting up onto the ground surface had all been sucked dry down to the final life sap drop, fossilizing turning into a pale white color, perfectly smooth and freezing cold exactly identical to dry dead human bone pieces currently reaching out skinny hands up to the grayish sky!

Under the forest floor was a thick, sludgy black mud layer unceasingly bubbling up toxic gas bubbles smelling of rotten eggs and rotting corpses. Scattered everywhere on the mud surface were countless stark white skeletons of birds, beasts, and even the bones of Elf people having fallen in the great massacre one hundred years ago.

"The decay miasma at the forest edge today is thicker than before five times!" Grand Elder Sylphie both jumped down from the horse and changed her complexion saying: "Supremes, this gray fog sort has the ability to corrode magical energy and rot flesh and blood extremely domineeringly. Ordinary people or mounts breathing in just a few breaths then lungs will turn into blood water immediately, we mandatorily must leave the horses behind out here to walk following the secret path only!"

"No need to worry about that filthy fog crowd." Kaelen stepped up to the front of the convoy, his green eyes looking straight into the fog wall currently billowing before his face: "In front of the face of the Nature Deity and the God of Life yet this foul-smelling toxic gas sort also dares to block the way huh?"

Kaelen raised his right hand up, simultaneously Finnick on his shoulder also raised his head high, the golden leaf mark between his forehead flared up brightly. Two Nature and Life origin Divine Energy streams immediately blended into each other, transforming into a crystal-clear jade green halo thirty meters wide enveloping the entire convoy!

Hum!

As Kaelen led the head of the convoy striding walking straight into the fog wall of the White Bone Forest, a miraculous scene making Grand Elder Sylphie and the Elf warriors shocked to the point of shedding tears immediately took place right under their feet!

The highly toxic miasma fog sort having once made all living beings on the continent hearing the name then terrified out of their wits throughout a century past, just touching the jade green halo of Kaelen and Finnick immediately emitted rapid "sizzle sizzle" sounds, being purified and burned completely clean, automatically parting to the two sides yielding forming a brightly wide road!

Not only that! Every step Kaelen and Finnick passed over on the rotting black mud floor, the decay toxin layer accumulated underground immediately was completely neutralized by Nature Divine Energy. From under the newly cleaned soil layer, the weed and wild flower seeds having slept buried throughout a hundred years as if hearing the calling sound of the origin Lord, simultaneously sprouted, reaching up tender blue-green grass leaves and blooming tiny white flowers stretching long following every footprint of the father and son!

A green grass road brilliantly full of life just like that stretched out amidst the pale white dry bone forest!

"Grass... grass grew back on the White Bone Forest land look!" A young Elf warrior looking at the tender green grass shoots having just sprouted under his boot heel choked thot lên: "One hundred years already... Since the day the World Tree withered until now, this is the first time on our homeland soil there is a plant shoot managing to survive!"

The old woman Sylphie walking leading the way in front also felt the Wood-element magical energy source in her body not only not being corroded by the miasma like usual, but conversely even being continuously replenished by the halo of the two True Gods, her footsteps light as nothing and agile double the usual days.

Following the guidance of Grand Elder Sylphie, the whole convoy skirted following the bed of an ancient dry stream having fossilized stark white, piercing through the outermost forest layer to advance deep into the core area where Moon Lake and the World Tree were located.

However, when the convoy just advanced deep into the forest for about fifteen miles, the ground under the feet of the dry stream suddenly shook violently as if tens of thousands of large beasts were simultaneously trampling!

Roar —!

From the direction of the forest center over twenty miles away, an ear-piercing shrieking roar suddenly resounded across the grayish sky, making the fossilized tree branches on both banks of the stream snap and fall clattering!

"It is the cry of the Decay Mother Worm under the World Tree base!" Finnick sprang up standing on Kaelen’s shoulder, his green eyes looking piercing through layer after layer of fog ahead: "The green grass road we just created has touched its sensory root network! It detected having Life and Nature origins entering the forest so immediately dispatched troops out blocking our way already!"

Finnick just finished his words, the thick gray fog screen on both hillsides along the dry stream suddenly billowed violently!

Crash! Crash! Crash!

Over five hundred giant pale white shadows from inside the fog simultaneously shot rocketing out, blocking completely both the advancing path ahead and the retreating path behind! That was a White Bone Beast pack consisting of giant wolves, armored bears, and hunting leopards having died from dozens of years ago. The entire flesh and blood on their bodies had rotted completely only remaining the stark white bone frame, but inside the empty chest and skull there was a grayish-black fleshy root tuft currently twisting controlling every bone joint like immortal puppets!

Even more terrifying was behind that White Bone Beast pack, the ground cracked wide open, eighteen fossilized ancient trees over fifteen meters tall automatically pulled their pale white root clumps up from the ground, turning into eighteen giant Withered Treants! On their wood trunks stark white like bones still retained the old, pained faces of the ancient Wood Elves — the plant souls having once been personally enlightened with sentience by Finnick from ten thousand years ago to guard the Eternal Forest, now actually being pierced through the wood core cores by the parasitic roots of the Mother Worm, forcing them to swing their wooden arms full of toxic thorns smashing straight down onto the heads of the Elf people they had once sworn to protect!

"They are the Wood Elf Elder Sirs guarding the middle forest ring!" Grand Elder Sylphie painfully cried out: "Lord, the souls of those Wood Elves are still tightly locked by the Mother Worm’s roots in the wood cores, throughout the past hundred years they live worse than dead yet cannot free themselves!"

Looking at the loyal Wood Elves personally created by his own hands in the past being turned into rotting killing machines, the wrath flame in Finnick’s chest finally completely exploded!

"Enough!"

The leopard cub from Kaelen’s shoulder shot rocketing up into mid-air!

Poof!

The jade green origin Life Divine Energy stream combined with Chloe’s blood light simultaneously released! In mid-air of the White Bone Forest, the leopard cub in the blink of an eye transformed back into the tall, handsome young man in the dark green long robe with black trim, his dark green long hair flying fluttering, his ice-cold eyes radiating divine prestige overwhelming even heaven and earth:

"Daddy, that dry bone crowd is handed over to you! As for my eighteen Wood Elves, let my own hands free them!"

Finnick just finished his words, Sane below had smirked sneering coldly:

"A rotten bone bunch yet also dares to be brought out blocking the way. Scram completely turning into ash for me!"

Sane stepped up one step, his right hand swinging horizontally across the empty space ahead.

Boom!

A dark purple Purple Lightning storm carrying the destructive power of the God of War immediately transformed into dozens of giant lightning dragons roaring charging straight into the middle of the five hundred White Bone Beasts pack!

If it were ordinary swords or magic slashing breaking the bones of this monster crowd, the parasitic fleshy root crowd inside only needed to pull the bone pieces connecting back then they again stood up fighting further. However before Sane’s origin Purple Lightning, wherever the purple lightning dragons swept past, regardless if it was wolf bones, bear bones hard as iron and steel or the grayish-black fleshy root tufts hidden in the skulls all immediately exploded turning into fine ash dust right on the spot!

Simultaneously at that moment, in mid-air, Finnick swung both hands up, controlling hundreds of Chloe’s fiery red vines stabbing straight into the wood core positions in the middle of the chests of the eighteen Withered Treants currently charging over!

Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!

Chloe’s vines completely did not destroy the tree trunks, but carrying Finnick’s origin Divine Energy accurately bit snapping completely all the grayish-black fleshy tentacles currently wrapping around the souls of the eighteen Wood Elves, yanking those parasitic roots completely outside then crushing them into nothingness!

Right when the parasitic root crowd was yanked out, the eighteen giant Withered Treants simultaneously stopped abruptly. The bloodthirsty crazy look on the eighteen old wooden faces disappeared, replaced by serenity and boundless gratitude when seeing the figure of the Lord of Life in mid-air:

"Many thanks... Lord... for granting us... freedom..."

The eighteen Wood Elf Elder Sirs simultaneously dropped to their knees on the ground, bowing their heads performing a ceremony before Finnick. Right the next second, their withered tree corpses transformed into tens of thousands of warm green light specks flying up into the air; eighteen tiny clear Wood Elf souls escaped from the rotting shell, flying over burrowing into Chloe’s vine branch on Finnick’s wrist to sleep soundly recovering from wounds, waiting for the day the World Tree resurrects will once again be recreated new physical bodies!

In just less than ten breaths, over five hundred White Bone Beasts along with eighteen blocking Treants had been cleaned up completely clean! However Finnick just landed down on the ground beside Kaelen and Sane then ahead less than five miles away, a violent explosion sound accompanied by blindingly bright silver light suddenly flared up then abruptly extinguished!

"Not good already!" Grand Elder Sylphie terrifiedly cried out: "That is the light from the Moon Lake barrier! The barrier protecting our five hundred clan members has just been broken losing a corner by the Mother Worm’s legion already!"

"Go quickly!"

Kaelen, Sane, and Finnick did not say two words, simultaneously utilized divine power wrapping the entire convoy of Sylphie, transforming into a purple-green flowing light stream tearing the fog screen apart, charging straight toward Moon Lake!
