“We know each other. There’s no need for such formality.” Zhang Deming waved his hand, looking at the plant floating before Fanx Dexian, which resembled a light brain. He said,

“Summoning Path, Planting Vine Dao, Heart Spirit Calculation Path… Hmm… and a faint trace of the Array Dao. You’re certainly ambitious. Just what is this thing you’ve developed, a Skill that fuses the power of four different Daos?”

Fanx Dexian paused for a moment, then pushed the dandelion-like light brain toward Zhang Deming. “This is a Technique I developed recently,” he said. “I was inspired by the Grand Assembly and incorporated the Computation Dao. Due to a fortunate coincidence, and with your help, Martial Grand-Uncle, it underwent a spontaneous mutation.”

Zhang Deming nodded. “In other words, this Skill can be considered a new Technique, then? Does it have a name?”

After reaching Mastery in a Technique, mutations from fusing multiple Runes were a common occurrence. Anyone with the right opportunity could repeat this process. The resulting Technique wasn’t truly a new one, unless it transformed in the way Zhang Deming’s had within his Dantian.

A Technique that could truly be called new, however, was usually like this one: based on a single Magic Rune, it incorporated the concepts of multiple Daos during its development and underwent a spontaneous mutation. That was what made it, more or less, a new Skill.

“It can indeed be considered a new Skill. As for a name…” Fanx Dexian trailed off, then suddenly bowed to Zhang Deming. “I humbly request that you grant it a name, Martial Grand-Uncle!”

Looking at the respectful Fanx Dexian, Zhang Deming paused. ‘Heh, what a clever fellow. He hasn’t changed a bit.’

Zhang Deming pondered for a moment, deciding to indulge him. “Do you know its general effects?” he asked.

Fanx Dexian replied, “It’s an Outer Realm-inclined Technique. I can’t describe it clearly. How about I demonstrate it for you, Martial Grand-Uncle?”

Zhang Deming was taken aback. ‘Outer Realm-inclined? Don’t tell me its resemblance to a three-dimensional light brain is more than just cosmetic?’

Zhang Deming was instantly intrigued. “Alright,” he said, “go ahead and demonstrate.”

Hearing this, Fanx Dexian beckoned to the dandelion-like light brain, and it floated into his hand. As his Spiritual Power surged, he explained, “This Skill is primarily for auxiliary control. Since the Technique is still new, I’ve only grasped two applications so far.”

He paused, then added, “Here it comes, Martial Grand-Uncle. Please don’t resist. My Heart Spirit Power is weak; it wouldn’t be able to withstand even the slightest tap from your Heart Spirit!”

As Zhang Deming nodded, Fanx Dexian tapped the light-brain dandelion. A crystalline thread suddenly shot out and wrapped around Zhang Deming’s wrist, its tip piercing directly into it.

However, there was no sensation of physical injury; the thread felt almost illusory.

The moment the thread connected, Zhang Deming was completely stunned. He felt his brain become unusually active, his thoughts racing at incredible speeds. His capacity for rational calculation, in particular, was lightning-fast.

“Stop! Stop! Stop! Martial Grand-Uncle, I’m just a Tai Chi Stage Cultivator! I can’t take this kind of strain!”

Fanx Dexian’s urgent words rang out while Zhang Deming was still in a daze.

Zhang Deming snapped back to his senses and looked over. The light brain in Fanx Dexian’s hand was flashing rapidly, his face was flushed, and he was breathing heavily. He was clearly exhausted from the strain Zhang Deming had put on him, yet he didn’t dare withdraw the Technique abruptly.

Zhang Deming paused and slowed the operation of his Heart Spirit. Fanx Dexian’s condition immediately improved.

Looking at the light brain in Fanx Dexian’s hand, Zhang Deming began to understand what this Technique was. Its general effect seemed to be a Heart Spirit Blessing.

‘To put it bluntly, this fucking thing is a server!!!

The thread is the network cable. Once connected, it hooks the target’s brain up to a network. This Technique can currently help the target by offloading some of their Heart Spirit’s operation, especially in terms of rational computation. And this is just in its infancy. The potential for future development is insane!

It’s a Heart Spirit Blessing type of Technique; its prospects and effects are quite impressive. To take it to a frightening extreme, if Fanx Dexian fully understood the network era of the Celestial Universe, he could single-handedly become a central Main Brain for all of humanity.

Holy shit… his Talent is terrifying. He developed something like this from a single lecture on computation. He truly is the undisputed number one Tai Chi Disciple in the Celestial Spirit Sect today!’

“The second application relates to my Major. I Major in the Plant Summoning Dao, and my biggest weaknesses have always been control and Spiritual Wisdom. They’re the most difficult problems to solve, so I’ve been researching them constantly. But with the blessing of this Skill, the issues of both control and Spiritual Wisdom should now be resolved. I have to say, Martial Grand-Uncle, your two lectures complemented each other perfectly. Combined with concepts from the Outer Realm, they gave me profound inspiration,” Fanx Dexian said while Zhang Deming was still lost in his thoughts.

Zhang Deming: “…”

‘Was that what I lectured on???’

‘When did I ever talk about this stuff???’

‘Am I really that ridiculously amazing???’

*Hiss…*

‘So that’s who I am!’

As these thoughts ran through his mind, Zhang Deming looked at Fanx Dexian and said, “I take back what I said about you being reckless. This Skill has exceptionally good prospects, and it’s worth you putting your effort into it. You could even choose it as your core when you undergo the Duality First Transition.”

“That’s my plan as well!” Fanx Dexian said. “But I was indeed too rash earlier. I knew these novel concepts could lead to unusual changes, yet I failed to take proper precautions. If you hadn’t intervened in time, Martial Grand-Uncle, I would not only have lost this opportunity but would also have been seriously injured, which could have severely affected my future path in the Dao. I will remember today’s lesson forever.”

Zhang Deming looked at Fanx Dexian and nodded. ‘No wonder he’s the number one Tai Chi Disciple.’

‘Strong Talent, a good Heart, sensible, knows when to advance and when to retreat, understands his limits, and knows how to get ahead. It’d be a crime against nature if someone like him didn’t become powerful.’

“Please grant it a name, Martial Grand-Uncle!” Fanx Dexian repeated.

Zhang Deming paused, then said, “Based on this Skill’s appearance and function, let’s call it the Brain Implantation Skill! We’ll see how it develops in the future, but for now, the name feels quite fitting!”
