Chapter 112: Chapter 112: Pulling Out a Gun to Squirt Water at Him

The man sent to negotiate had been sharply rebuffed, but he could only suppress his anger. Forcing a smile, he continued asking. "Miss Sinclair, regarding the people we previously sent to negotiate with you... we are willing to offer a blank cheque on top of our previous commitments. What do you think?"

The man’s words naturally played out in the livestream, and the viewers immediately began urging her in the chat.

[Miss Innocent, don’t believe his nonsense! You know what people from The Sunken Isles are like, don’t fall for his tricks!]

[The Innocent Heiress! We want to see The Sunken Isles get bombed! Don’t let him pull the wool over your eyes!]

[Miss Innocent! We came to the livestream to watch the shrine get blown up, not to see you get tempted!]

[WTF! These people from The Sunken Isles are so shameless!]

[Damn, if the streamer agrees, I’m an anti-fan for life.]

[Please, The Innocent Heiress, don’t agree! I just want to see the video of the shrine getting blown up!]

[I’m already on my way! I took my pants off for this, and this is what you show me?]

[Damn, if she agrees, I’ll reach through the screen and hack this traitor to death!]

[Don’t agree!]

[The Innocent Heiress, ignore him! I want to see the shrine go boom!]

[My grandpa is watching with me! He literally has a knife to my neck right now. The Innocent Heiress, if you don’t blow it up, I’m dead meat!]

[The Innocent Heiress, whatever you do, don’t listen to their bullshit!]

[I just want to see the shrine blown up once in my life! I’ve rewatched the last video of it burning so many times the pixels are rubbing off.]

[Miss Innocent, repeat after me: a bastard’s chanting is just noise. I’m not listening, I’m not listening!]

[All my aunts and relatives are already gossiping about this. The Innocent Heiress, if you don’t blow it up, I’m gonna explode!]

Since the man’s arrival, Rian Sinclair hadn’t had time to look at her phone. She looked at him and said, "Are you talking about Kensei Aoyama and Numa Aoshi?"

Hearing the familiar names, the man thought there was a turning point and nodded hastily. "Yes, Miss Sinclair, those two. Do you remember them? We can add an unconditional promise on top of whatever they offered."

Rian Sinclair nodded. "Ah, those two. Yes, I remember them slightly. One was arrogant as hell, and the other brewed tea that tasted like dog shit. Of course I remember them perfectly."

The man’s face stiffened, his smile almost faltering. For the first time, he felt that there was someone in the world with such a sharp tongue... Oh, wait, no. Rian Sinclair was the second. The first was Veridia’s diplomat.

But what could the man do? His superiors had given him strict orders. If he couldn’t pull this off, his career would be over. "Miss Sinclair, surely there’s still room for negotiation? If those two offended you, then I apologize on their behalf here and now. I hope you can do us a favor and grant us some face."

Hearing his words, Rian Sinclair tilted her head and looked at Quentin Sinclair. "Quentin, calculate how much their ’face’ is worth."

Quentin Sinclair immediately did the math. "It’s worth less than the Brown family’s face."

The man opposite them turned green, then white—his face shifting colors like a painter’s palette.

Rian Sinclair continued, "They pointed a gun at my head. They wanted to blow my brains out and take my life, and you’re telling me to forgive them?"

The man’s smile froze before he let out an awkward chuckle. "I’m afraid there’s been a misunderstanding, Miss Sinclair. Those two just really love joking around. You must have misunderstood."

Rian Sinclair, who had been sitting in her chair, abruptly stood up upon hearing this. She pulled out a gun and aimed it squarely at the man’s forehead. This action was broadcast live to the viewers, who instantly turned into armchair diplomats trying to talk her down.

[Miss Innocent! Are you crazy?! Pulling a gun in broad daylight! You’re digging your own grave!]

[It’s over, it’s over. Don’t bother watching anymore, Miss Innocent just buried herself.]

[The Innocent Heiress, firearms are things you use in secret! Are you afraid people won’t notice if you do it this openly?]

[Miss Innocent really did that, I’m crying!]

[That’s my Miss Innocent!]

[666666, pulling a gun in public on the streets of The Sunken Isles. In what country is this considered legal?!]

[Livestream’s over. Everyone pack it up, nothing more to see here.]

[My dear Miss Innocent, what kind of wild stunt is this?]

[Calm down, calm down. Heiress, please calm down.]

[When they said earlier not to escalate this to a national level, was that foreshadowing this moment? Are they clairvoyant?]

[She’s too badass. This is the first time I’ve been this excited watching a livestream. My blood is boiling!]

[Heiress, even though we love this gift, busting out weapons escalates things to a whole other level.]

[I’m losing my mind! What the hell is going on? I’m stunned!]

[I saw that diplomat from The Sunken Isles smiling so smugly. I knew right then Miss Innocent was going to lose this round.]

[Wahhh, who brainwashed Miss Innocent to make her do something so reckless? I’m completely devastated.]

Having never faced such a situation, the negotiator’s legs gave out, and he collapsed onto his backside.

She leaned over, bringing the muzzle of the gun a few inches closer to him. "Sorry about that. I just really love joking around, too."

The man was on the verge of tears. After all, it was his first time having a gun pointed at his head. Just as he was about to have a mental breakdown, a voice rang out.

"Miss Sinclair, don’t forget that you are in The Sunken Isles. In this situation, we have the right to arrest you. Even if you had a thousand mouths, you wouldn’t be able to talk your way out of this one."

Rian Sinclair looked at the newcomer. It was Kaede Endou, the diplomat from The Sunken Isles whom Quentin Sinclair had mentioned earlier. She stood up straight, toying with the gun in her hand.

The moment Kaede Endou saw Rian Sinclair pull out the gun from a distance, he knew they had won. "Miss Sinclair, firearms are strictly prohibited. Are you hoping to end up in the International Court of Justice?"

When Rian Sinclair didn’t respond, Kaede Endou continued, "Miss Sinclair, please come with us."

Holding the gun, Rian Sinclair pulled the trigger at the man slumped on the floor. He instantly hit the deck, his entire body trembling uncontrollably. However, he didn’t feel the slightest bit of pain. Stiffly, he looked up at Rian Sinclair, his eyes meeting her mocking gaze.

Then, he felt a warm dampness spreading through his crotch.

The entire scene fell dead silent. It wasn’t just the people present; the livestream, too, descended into a deathly silence. After all, who would have thought that in such a tense atmosphere, Miss Innocent was actually playing around with a toy water gun?

Rian Sinclair reeled in the mockery in her eyes and looked at the man groveling on the ground with feigned surprise. "No way. I just told you I love joking around, too. Did that really scare you this much? I was merely playing a joke on you. You’re far too pathetic... Wouldn’t you agree, Mr. Endou?"

Rian Sinclair raised her gaze to Kaede Endou. The diplomat’s forehead was slick with sweat.

Kaede Endou had also been startled by her hesitation-free shot, but seeing that it merely squirted a stream of water, a wave of immense relief washed over him—followed quickly by intense resentment. After all, Kaede Endou had finally found a pretext to make a huge fuss and gain the upper hand.

But as it turned out, she had pulled out a toy water gun—and one manufactured by their own country’s Qiaohu Enterprise, no less!

What else could he do?
