Chapter 155: Chapter 154: Daring to Impersonate a Military Officer, a Compounded Crime

Hearing those familiar words once again, Rian Sinclair recalled the scene earlier where Officer Morgan had ordered Commander Ronan Ford to squat with his hands behind his head. Now, the tables were simply turned.

Officer Morgan let out a laugh at those words. "Who do you think you are, saying something like that?"

Ronan’s expression turned stern. "I am Ronan Ford, the First Commander of Kyoro HQ. Your behavior contradicts the very police uniform you wear; you act more like local thugs. Higher-ups will be sending investigators down. Be prepared to face their questioning."

Ronan’s voice wasn’t loud, but the imposing aura radiating from him still managed to intimidate the men across from him.

Seeing this, Officer Morgan refused to believe a word of it. "What First Commander? I think you’re just spouting bullshit. Daring to impersonate military personnel is an added crime!"

Listening to his words, Rian increasingly felt that this man resembled one of those treacherous officials from ancient times.

Ronan didn’t move, merely staring down his opposition. The men beside Officer Morgan were somewhat shocked by his imposing presence and didn’t dare to step forward. Officer Morgan spat lightly and cursed under his breath, "A bunch of useless trash."

With that said, Officer Morgan was just about to advance when, suddenly, a voice rang out from the doorway.

"What do you think you’re doing, Franklin Morgan?! Stop right there!"

Subsequently, a slightly chubby middle-aged man came running over. Beside him was a soldier dressed in military green. The soldier marched up to Ronan, stopped a meter away, and offered a respectful salute. "Commander."

Ronan gave a slight nod. His gaze shifted to Franklin Morgan as he spoke softly, "Impersonating military personnel?"

When Franklin saw his brother-in-law, Director Morgan, acting so deferentially toward the man who had just saluted Ronan, and hearing the man’s voice, he swallowed hard in guilt. Thinking back to what he had just said, a sudden wave of fear washed over him.

Director Morgan looked at Ronan with a fawning expression, his tone brimming with respect. "Commander."

The Director was terrified. He had suddenly received news that the First Commander was at the very police station under his jurisdiction. This was someone who had made a name for himself in front of the top brass, holding the highest military rank, and more importantly, bearing the terrifying title of First Commander.

He didn’t know what his brother-in-law had done to provoke such a prominent figure, but upon hearing Ronan’s words, he knew it was over. His brother-in-law had dragged him into a massive disaster, and it was even possible that his own past misdeeds would be dragged out into the light.

Rian looked at the newcomers, then back at Ronan. Seeing this, Ronan offered an explanation. "This is my assistant, Lance Forrest."

Lance nodded at Rian in response. He didn’t know this woman, but this was the first time he had ever seen the Commander so close to a girl, let alone go out of his way to explain things to one. Could it be...

He looked at Ronan with a hint of uncertainty. He wondered if the chronically single Commander was finally showing interest in women.

Ronan noticed Lance’s gaze but didn’t say anything more. Rian remained silent as well, but in Lance’s eyes, this only solidified his internal suspicions.

Rian had no idea when Ronan had called for backup. Aiden Sinclair, on the other hand, was someone she had brought along the moment she left her house.

Director Morgan’s body trembled as he looked at Ronan. This was someone he had never expected to meet in his entire life, yet their very first encounter was under such dire circumstances.

Ronan looked at Director Morgan. "Explain yourself. What is going on here? The incident from last night has already blown up online, yet today it is claimed that a letter of forgiveness was received from the victims. From what I understand, however, this letter is entirely fabricated. How exactly does your police station handle matters? Are you colluding with the criminals?"

Franklin guiltily shrank back against his brother-in-law, not daring to meet Ronan’s eyes. Director Morgan was also at a loss for how to respond. After all, he was well aware of what had happened last night, and he was the one who had let the perpetrators go.

Who could have known that those girls had such powerful backing?

At this moment, neither of them felt any shame over their nephew beating someone up; instead, they were merely frustrated that the other party had strong backers to bully them back with.

Aiden handed over a phone and said softly, "Miss, that man has started a livestream."

Hearing this, Rian took the phone. Looking at the disgusting face on the screen, she saw that he was still talking about last night’s incident, still criticizing the girls.

"I never change my name or hide who I am! I, Zachary Morgan, never expected to go viral on the internet. Yesterday’s incident was clearly those smelly bitches’ fault.

"Going out late at night shows they had impure motives, and going out to drink late at night? Isn’t that just being sluts? Clearly, those women were in the wrong first. They even threw a beer bottle, trying to bust my head open! I was just acting in self-defense by busting theirs back. There’s nothing wrong with that, right?"

Zachary’s arrogant and conceited voice echoed through the livestream. Many netizens flooded into the broadcast because of last night’s incident.

Some supported Zachary, others thought he was just spouting nonsense, and some remained neutral, taking no side at all.

Rian hadn’t expected someone like him to actually have the nerve to start a livestream. The video of the incident had clearly been released, yet there were still people blaming the girls.

The comments flying across the screen were filled with wildly differing opinions.

[Brother Strong, you’d better run! You’re going to get tossed in a jail cell soon!]

[Brother Strong, your name is seriously an embarrassment. You did all that stuff, yet you’re called ’Self-Strong’? What kind of parents named you?]

[Not to be mean, but how do you still have the face to livestream? Aren’t you afraid of getting arrested? You really are an outlaw.]

[Hey upstairs, don’t insult my guy Sam’s title as the ultimate outlaw! This guy is just pure brainless.]

Watching the comments in the livestream, Zachary couldn’t help but laugh out loud. "Tossed in a jail cell? How is that possible! How could I, Zachary Morgan, ever go to jail?

"Let me tell you, those kinds of people will obediently hand over a letter of forgiveness if you just give them a bit of cash. You bunch of dogs are still barking on their behalf. Is your life really that great?

"Are you working hard at your jobs? How much do you make in a month? Do you have a house in Kyoro? A car? Have you finished paying off your loans? Yet here you are, yapping away.

"Let me tell you, your big bro here is rich. I can casually throw away hundreds of thousands. Do you even understand my worth, you bunch of societal parasites?"

With Zachary saying things like that, even some of the neutral viewers couldn’t hold back anymore. The comments were a mix of curses and people defending Zachary.

[Wow, okay. Insulting me like that right here? I got yelled at the moment I entered the livestream. I’m genuinely triggered.]

[I work and earn my own money, and I’m proud of it! I’m not like you, a massive idiot who can only leech off his parents all day.]

[This is absolutely hilarious. Brother Strong, do you even know who the woman who stepped in last night is? She’s currently a woman in the top ten of the Forbes list.]

[I really want to laugh. Trying to compete in wealth with Miss Innocent? I just don’t get it.]

[This bro is seriously trying to lecture us here.]

[Just want to ask, how does the abuser have the nerve to start a livestream and publicly denounce the victims? Where does he get the audacity?]

[@KyoroPolice Officers, look quick! There’s a criminal right here.]

[How is he not being severely punished yet? @KyoroPolice]

...

Zachary genuinely wanted to laugh when he saw these comments, but it wasn’t long before he watched his livestream screen go pitch black.

"Motherfucker." Zachary threw his phone onto the ground. "Banning my livestream?! These little shits just can’t stand seeing someone else live a good life, can they?"

Zachary didn’t for a second consider that his livestream was banned because of the heinous nature of his incident. Instead, he genuinely believed that the netizens had reported his stream purely out of jealousy.
