The Rebate Tycoon: Spend on Him, Get Rich
Chapter 200 - 199: Kyoro Night Market
Chapter 200: Chapter 199: Kyoro Night Market
Auntie Alden prepared a large table of delicious food. They had originally hired a chef, but Rian Sinclair always felt that Auntie Alden’s cooking was better. Therefore, whenever she was home, Auntie Alden would personally cook to make delicious meals for her young lady.
Bandage lay obediently at Rian’s feet. Whenever there was a slight noise, the pup would look up, then nuzzle against Rian’s calf and lay back down. Bandage now weighed around sixteen kilograms and was nearing adulthood. She ate extremely well at home; after all, Auntie Alden made sure to prepare a variety of delicious and nutritious meals for her every day.
Taking Bandage, she headed out.
Rian didn’t want to just stroll around the neighborhood. After all, the previous incident with Yuri had left a deep impression on her. Given the time, she decided to visit a famous night market in Kyoro. It spanned two entire streets, packed entirely with food.
She drove a G-Wagon out. Bandage sniffed left and right.
"Bandage, get in the car."
Immediately, she heard the dog whimpering softly from the side. Seeing Bandage’s little antics, Rian could only helplessly open the passenger door. Bandage instantly jumped in happily and sat perfectly straight in the seat.
Rian shook her head in amusement. When she first brought Bandage home, the dog had ridden in the passenger seat, and she hadn’t expected it to become muscle memory. The car drove swiftly. Bandage sat quietly inside, not disturbing Rian as she drove.
After parking, Rian fastened the leash and led the dog out of the car. Bandage looked at the crowd and seemed a bit scared, pressing tightly against Rian’s calf.
"If you’re scared, we can go back," Rian said.
But Bandage whimpered and refused to leave; she probably wanted to familiarize herself with the environment first. Seeing this, Rian began walking toward the nearby stalls.
The night market in Kyoro was as bustling as ever. The street was filled with food, and mouth-watering aromas wafted through the air. Several people waited to buy food at every stall. The area was kept very clean, with trash cans placed at regular intervals and cleaning staff coming by on schedule to clear the garbage, providing all customers with a great experience.
Bandage was energized by the lively surroundings. Her whole body became incredibly bouncy, leading Rian to stand at one stall for a moment before running to sniff at another. The appearance of a dog in the night market stood out, and many young girls came up to ask if they could pet her.
Looking at the girls’ sparkling eyes, Rian said, "You can pet her, but please don’t feed her anything."
The girls nodded happily, not caring how they would eat their food after touching a dog. After all, they had boyfriends beside them, and at the very least, they could just wipe their hands with wet tissues and continue eating.
Bandage thrived in the night market like a viral internet-famous dog, mingling like a fish in water. Rian also went to the side to buy some food—fried skewers, milk tea, crinkle-cut potatoes, takoyaki, teppanyaki shrimp paste...
Every time, Rian asked the vendors to give her only as much as she could finish, though she still paid full price. This way, she could sample more varieties of food.
Bandage, meanwhile, was drooling with greed beside her, whining incessantly. However, Rian didn’t give her a single bite. Looking at the dog’s pitiful state, she laughed and said, "You have a sensitive stomach. You can’t eat any of these things."
Bandage seemed to understand. She leaned against Rian somewhat aggrievedly, her tail no longer wagging as vigorously as before.
Once Rian was mostly full, she took Bandage back to the car to get some dog food. After letting the pup crave human food for so long, as a good mommy, her heart ached for her pet too.
While Bandage ran happily across a nearby patch of grass, Rian sat quietly to the side, facing the evening breeze and enjoying the serenity of the night.
"Hello, Ms. Sinclair!"
A slightly unnatural-sounding Veridian voice rang in her ears. Rian looked up to see a young, blonde-haired, blue-eyed foreign man. Given the situation, this man likely knew her identity. Was his approach purposeful, or just a coincidence?
The man was a bit nervous, struggling with his unfamiliar Veridian. Rian, completely baffled by his words, indicated that she could understand English.
"Oh! Ms. Sinclair! I’m so lucky to meet you! Your beauty is simply a beacon of light in this night!"
Listening to the man’s flattery, Rian felt a bit exasperated. "Is there something you need?"
The foreign man finally revealed his purpose. Hearing him out, Rian curled her lips into a faint smile. "These matters are entirely handled by my special assistant. You shouldn’t be pitching this to me; you should go make an appointment with him."
The man’s face stiffened for a moment. "Ms. Sinclair, as you know, Special Assistant Sinclair is very difficult to book an appointment with."
Hearing his words, Rian frowned slightly. "Then you should also know that I don’t manage these affairs. Furthermore, do you really think I would agree to a business proposal while I am off the clock and resting?"
Rian strongly disliked being disturbed during her downtime. She didn’t know what his underlying motives were, but approaching her in private was highly inappropriate.
The man seemed to have made up his mind. He quickly summarized the collaboration using extremely concise terms and added, "Under the FOB trade terms, your company would only need to deliver the goods to a designated location in Veridia."
Rian looked at the man, who was still unwilling to leave, and laughed. "Then why do you think we would sell the goods to you? Right now, demand exceeds supply even within Veridia. Do you think we’d prioritize you?"
"Ms. Sinclair! I can pay more!"
Rian shook her head slightly. She wasn’t short of money right now, so his offer didn’t tempt her in the least.
"I’m not lacking in money."
The man’s face turned ashen, completely at a loss for what to do. His arrival here had been entirely impulsive. The moment he spotted Rian, he felt his company was saved, which was why he had shamelessly approached her. But he had forgotten one crucial fact: Sinclair Group was absolutely not lacking in partners right now. Countless companies were practically begging to work with them.
Glancing at the man, Rian fell silent for a moment before calling Bandage over. "You currently aren’t a match for Sinclair Group. If you try to bite off more than you can chew, a shaky foundation will easily collapse."
With that, Rian took Bandage’s leash and left.
The foreign man stood rooted to the spot, pondering Rian’s words. Suddenly, he looked up at her retreating figure and gave a deep bow. "Thank you."
Rian heard him but didn’t respond.
If they wanted to source goods, they didn’t have to go directly through Sinclair Group. After all, Sinclair Group was too massive and had too many partners to consider a small-scale operation. However, Sinclair Group wasn’t the only one with goods. By working with Sinclair Group’s other partners, they could still obtain the merchandise. This was, in a way, another method of driving domestic and foreign economic trade.
Sinclair Group didn’t monopolize the market. It was precisely because they were willing to share their resources that they could establish such a firm foothold in Veridia, ensuring that Veridia’s top leaders wouldn’t make a move against them.
Bandage walked obediently by her side.
Rian believed that tonight’s encounter was just a coincidence, but she still had Donovan Sinclair and the others lock down any information regarding her whereabouts.
After returning home, Auntie Alden took Bandage away. Enjoying some free time, Rian took a shower and scrolled through Sharkstream for a while.
Looking at the trending headlines, she couldn’t help but feel a bit puzzled. After clicking in and reading the article, Rian only felt that some people in this world had it too easy, willing to make any sort of dirty money. Had Veridia mistreated her? To think she would resort to selling out her country for glory.
