The Red Dragon Lord is OP, but Insists on a Pop Culture Invasion!
Chapter 548: Dancing with Dragons
“Igor, are you sure this is a good idea?” Little Deer asked worriedly, looking at the script Igor had provided.
Igor, meanwhile, was in an empty plot of land in the village, earnestly building a snowman while looking at a picture of the Snow Child.
He had been a master snowman-builder as a child, and he quickly replicated a version that looked nearly identical to the one in the cartoon.
“What’s the problem?”
He answered while admiring his work, “Do you have any idea what a brilliant idea this is? Oh, god, I can already picture the view count for this video skyrocketing as it goes viral.”
Igor’s plan was to film a melting Snow Child, and just as it was about to collapse into a shapeless lump, Little Deer would jump out and start introducing the Igor Magic Energy Refrigerator.
“Want to help the Snow Child live past winter? Then hurry up and buy an Igor Magic Energy Refrigerator…”
And then it would seamlessly transition into an introduction of the refrigerator’s features.
A genius ad.
At least, that’s what he himself thought.
Alright, the idea would probably attract a lot of criticism, but getting flamed was better than getting no views.
They could flame it all they wanted; they would definitely remember the refrigerator.
Igor believed the practicality of his product’s design would be enough to attract a group of customers.
“That’s not what I mean,” Little Deer said. “Won’t there be copyright issues?”
Little Deer had only heard of the concept of copyright. It was something about how you couldn’t use things other people invented to make money without their permission.
‘Seems reasonable enough.’
“Copyright? How could there be any copyright issues? The very first day I invented this refrigerator, I registered the patent. A design with adjustable temperature and two separate compartments—it’s one hundred percent original,” Igor said smugly.
“Not the refrigerator’s copyright, the Snow Child’s!”
“Oh, right. The Snow Child’s copyright.”
“Don’t tell me you never even considered that the Snow Child is copyrighted and you can’t just use it!” Little Deer said, agitated.
“Haha, just kidding. Of course I considered it. Look at this snowman. See how it’s different from the character in the cartoon?”
“Uhh…”
Little Deer stared at the snowman Igor had built for a few seconds. ‘It’s actually quite well made.’
“I don’t see any difference.”
“You need to work on your observation skills. Look closely. The eyes on the Snow Child I built are one-tenth lower on its face than the eyes of the Snow Child in the cartoon.”
“Huh?”
“Therefore, this is not *that* Snow Child.”
Little Deer was stunned. ‘That’s all it takes? For some reason… this feels a little wrong.’
He looked at the older neighborhood boy he’d idolized since he was small and felt that the person in front of him had changed.
He’d become a bit… um, a bit Zog-like…
Little Deer didn’t know why “Zog” had become an adjective in his mind, but he couldn’t quite describe what it meant for a person to be “very Zog-like.”
‘His vocabulary was limited.’
‘Igor has become Zog-like. How scary. Is this the legendary effect big cities have on people?’
In Little Deer’s eyes, Winter City was one of the biggest cities on the continent. Twin Tower City was number one, Winter City was number two. He’d never been anywhere else.
“In any case, there won’t be a problem,” Igor guaranteed confidently.
In truth, he was just spouting nonsense.
There was no “one-tenth lower” business; who could be that precise when building a snowman?
As for whether the Zog Group would come knocking over the copyright issue…
Let them come if they were going to come. This was a desperate measure. If he could sell this batch of refrigerators and secure funding, he’d worry about compensation later.
Igor sighed, then drew a Warming Rune under the snowman he had just painstakingly built.
Although he had been initiated through the Prophetic School, he still knew a few of these basic magic spells.
“Alright, let’s begin. I can only make it melt; I don’t know the Repair Technique. We only get one shot. I hope we can get it all on film, or I’ll have to build another snowman…”
—————————
On a small island nearly a hundred kilometers off the coast of the Feilin Continent.
This was Dragon Island, Zog’s old lair, which he hadn’t returned to in a long time. The ground beneath it was riddled with tunnels.
Ever since he shifted his operations to the continent, the Beastman Goblins on Dragon Island had been relocated to the cities in batches. All useful equipment had been moved away, leaving the island an empty nest.
But today, a large Teleportation Array had been activated here, transporting several Juvenile Dragons, the Broken Tooth Dragon Breeding Corps, and an entire Magic Shadow Production Team to the island.
And Zog. Now as large as a small hill, he was currently digging a hole—the very hole he would burst out of later.
This was the filming site for the *Dancing with Dragons* production team.
Its original title was *Dragon Tamer*.
In the original story, the “dragons” were closer to the concept of Dragon Beasts, so they could be tamed.
But Feilin’s Dragons are an intelligent species—extremely smart—so the term “tame” was no longer appropriate.
Besides, Zog himself was a Dragon.
Thus, after much consideration, the title was changed to something that sounded more like a concept of cooperation and coexistence between humans and Dragons.
The plot wasn’t changed much, aside from turning the original Vikings into coastal residents plagued by the Dragon Race.
The Juvenile Dragons from Deepwater City were cast as the dragons with the most screen time.
The role of Toothless naturally went to Little Black Dragon Nick.
As for the coastal residents, they were played by the former Broken Tooth Dragon Hunting Corps, now the Broken Tooth Dragon Breeding Corps.
These elite Warriors had completed a total 180-degree transformation.
A few days prior, after their leader capitulated at light speed, Zog had a sudden realization: ‘Hey, this bunch of people seem to know Dragons really well. They hang around them, aren’t afraid of being hurt by Juvenile Dragons, and have even raised quite a few Dragon Beasts.’
‘Doesn’t that make them the perfect choice for actors?’
And it just so happened that the Deepwater City Dragon Race Kindergarten was also severely understaffed and in need of experienced professionals.
