Chapter 580: Chapter 356: Soul Ascenders Proclaim Zog is Invincible

When a Dragon loses their cool, they *really* lose their cool.

The shock Zog felt upon hearing the words "Dragon Ascending Sword," spoken in a strange accent, hit him even harder than the earlier talk of "deciphering Zog’s memory fragments."

He froze for a few seconds. It wasn’t until the man holding the sword drew it with both hands, raised it high above his head, and Zog saw the familiar design—the yellow blade and red hilt—that he realized what it was: the Dragon Ascending Sword.

The Dragon Ascending Sword from *Demon God Heroic Legend*.

After the initial shock passed, however, Zog began to analyze the matter of the Soul Ascenders deciphering his memories.

’If they need to decipher it, then they obviously don’t have my complete memories. Otherwise, even with a language barrier, they could have just watched and understood everything.’

’The most likely explanation is that unlucky sod who tried to trap me before, only to get overwhelmed by the backlash from my massive memory pool.’

’He must have transmitted a portion of my memories back to the Soul Ascenders’ Consciousness Space right before he completely broke down.’

’And because his mental state was already unstable at that point, the memories he sent back would be chaotic and incomplete—mere fragments that require deciphering.’

’They didn’t even realize the Dragon Ascending Sword was from a cartoon; they just went and recreated it with a completely straight face.’

The presenter’s next move confirmed Zog’s suspicions.

As he brought the sword down in a sweeping chop, he yelled, "One strike, two halves! Ruyi Divine Sword!"

This, too, was in accented Chinese.

’He probably has no idea what it means and is just mimicking the sounds.’

’And clearly, he’s mixed up the signature moves from *Demon God Heroic Legend* and *Light Manipulator*.’

’Definitely chaotic.’

’It’s understandable, though. They’re both Mecha anime, they both involve swords... it’s an easy mistake to make.’

’To be fair, the Dragon Ascending Sword this Soul Ascender created was actually quite impressive. It produced a brilliant light effect when swung, and a single slash traveled a great distance.’

According to the presenter, he was researching a completely new approach to weapon Enchantment.

The idea was to treat the sword as a Casting tool rather than a simple melee weapon. It would be enchanted with a type of Magic similar to Combat Techniques, allowing a limited number of uses. This way, even new recruits could be quickly armed and gain a decent level of combat effectiveness.

’So, aside from its appearance, it’s a completely different beast from the original Dragon Ascending Sword.’

’As for being a recreation, well, the light effects were certainly faithful to the original.’

’He probably has his own unique interpretation of the fights in the anime.’

A thought suddenly struck Zog. ’With a design like this, could they also pull off a Crescent Celestial Strike?’

’And if they have the Dragon Ascending Sword, shouldn’t they be more focused on the Mecha that came with it?’

’Those things look a lot more powerful than a single sword.’

Therefore, Zog was now very curious just how fragmented the memory shards in the Soul Ascenders’ possession truly were.

’If things recreated from my memories can be publicly presented like this, it must mean my memories aren’t considered classified.’

Just as Zog was about to ask where these memory fragments were stored, Sutton I, who was standing beside him, spoke with a hint of impatience. "How many of these creations from Zog’s memories is this now? Not a single one has been useful."

"Are there that many things in Zog’s memories?" Zog asked.

"Oh, there’s plenty of material, for sure," Sutton I said, "but it’s so chaotic that it’s nearly impossible to distinguish what anything is, what it’s used for, or how it works."

As Sutton I spoke, he seemed reluctant to recall a painful experience. "You have no idea. To read those memories, you have to experience them in the first person. The memories that Sage sent back were already incomplete and disjointed. On top of that, the stuff in Zog’s head isn’t normal. I think... I really think..."

He leaned in and said conspiratorially, "Zog... was probably a madman. There’s no other way to explain why the things in his memories are so bizarre."

"Er..."

As the Dragon in question, Zog felt he was being unfairly maligned.

’You’re the ones rummaging through my memories, and *I’m* the madman?’

"So, how can I access those memory fragments? Maybe I can figure something out," Zog said.

Sutton I chuckled. "Ha, you’re just like every other newcomer. You all think you’re going to be the one to discover something incredible. I don’t think you’ll find anything, but I wish you success all the same."

"Thank you."

’Hearing this, Zog felt like his memories were the Soul Ascenders’ version of the Tree Guardian—every newcomer had to come and get their teeth kicked in by it.’

Zog bid farewell to the historical figures and, following their directions, found the Grand Library within the Holy Sanctuary—the repository of all knowledge.

The Soul Ascenders truly took the concept of knowledge sharing to heart.

The Grand Library housed a vast collection of the Soul Ascenders’ research, all of which was open to the public. Any member could peruse it without submitting an application; they could simply walk in and start reading.

The "Zog’s Memory Fragments" project was clearly a hot topic. It had its own dedicated section, which was bustling with people.

The entrance to the section even had displays for projects that were considered "solved"—or at least, what the Soul Ascenders *believed* they had solved.

The device for viewing Zog’s memories was a rather unremarkable-looking lounge chair. One simply had to lie down to begin their search.

There were no empty chairs available in the section at the moment, so Zog had no choice but to get in line and wait.

The people currently engrossed in the memories did not look well.

Some fainted as they got up from the chairs. Others threw up on the spot. Still others were unsteady on their feet, shouting and screaming.

’If you didn’t know any better, you’d think this was a psychiatric ward.’

The other Soul Ascenders in the area, however, were clearly accustomed to the phenomenon and paid it little mind.
