Chapter 10: Hurt your sister

Victor felt a wave of relief wash over him the moment he heard Nina’s voice. For the moment since being dragged away from his pack, he believed Nina was the only powerful enough to stop Andrew. Meanwhile, Jeremy glanced toward Nina with a hint of disbelief. He couldn’t understand how quickly she had managed to follow them all the way here.

"Don’t worry, Nina. Victor will return to his territory in a coffin," Andrew declared, matching her intensity without showing the slightest sign of backing down.

The relief disappeared from Victor’s face instantly. His body stiffened as he realized Andrew had no intention of letting him leave alive.

"If you want to live, you’d better return to the capital," Andrew warned Nina, his eyes fixed coldly on her. "I’m not in the mood to deal with you right now, Nina. Don’t make this worse than it already is."

"I won’t let you hurt my man." Nina stepped closer to him, refusing to back down despite his warning. "You’re challenging me, Andrew. I’m your elder sister. Do you even understand what that means?"

"Victor attempted to murder my mate. Why would I let him go simply because he’s your man?" Andrew frowned, his patience clearly wearing thin. "Your relationship with him doesn’t give him the right to escape punishment for what he did."

"I already told you that Victor has done nothing," Nina insisted, her voice growing firmer. She then looked past Andrew toward the warriors restraining Victor. "Bring that woman out. I want to see the person who’s accusing Victor with my own eyes."

As Nina spoke, her eyes briefly flashed a rare orange. It was a distinctive trait shared by members of the Kensington Alpha family.

"Caroline Blackwood," Andrew replied.

The moment Victor heard her name, his throat went dry. His entire body stiffened, and for a few seconds, he could barely blink.

He had been certain Caroline was dead.

He had been told by his wolves that she fell into the foreign territory, believing that the injuries she had suffered would eventually finish her.

The realization that she was alive, and had somehow become Andrew’s mate, filled him with sudden dread.

Nina’s brows furrowed as she heard the name. She recognized it immediately. She had heard about Caroline before, though she had never expected that the omega would become the reason Andrew was threatening Victor’s life.

"Ah, that pathetic omega," Nina said with an unexpected calmness. "It wasn’t Victor who ordered the wolves to kill her. I did."

Her confession shocked everyone in the room. Even Victor turned toward her, stunned by how openly she had admitted her involvement.

"Tell them, Victor. Tell them how Caroline kept trying to claim that she was your mate," Nina added, looking at him as though she expected him to support her story.

Victor quickly recovered from his shock and nodded. He couldn’t reveal how terrified he was that Caroline had survived.

"Caroline had been bothering me for a long time, Prince Andrew," Victor said, forcing his voice to remain steady. "As the Alpha of my pack, I have the authority to punish wolves who cause trouble or make false claims against me. That’s what the law allows."

Andrew’s hand shot toward his sister’s neck, his fingers tightening around it as his pupils changed color. His wolf surged to the surface, making the air around him feel heavier. The anger in his eyes made it clear that he was no longer willing to listen to excuses or explanations.

"Then you will pay the price for making her lose her family and her pup," Andrew said through clenched teeth.

Nina immediately grabbed Andrew’s wrist with one hand and wrapped her other hand around his neck. She didn’t show the slightest sign of fear despite knowing exactly how dangerous her brother could be.

If Andrew was fierce, Nina was no different. They had both inherited the same powerful Alpha blood from their father, the Alpha King, and their mother, the Luna Queen.

"Don’t think you can threaten me just because you’re angry, Andrew," Nina warned, her grip tightening around his neck.

"Both of you, pull away!" Miller shouted as he stepped forward.

"Your Highness, stop!" Jeremy ordered, moving closer to separate them.

Neither Andrew nor Nina listened. They remained locked in each other’s grip, their wolves pushing against their control as the tension between the royal siblings continued to rise.

They both felt pressures building in their wind pipes and shoved each other at the same time.

"Bring that omega out here, now! I will kill her with my own hands for lying about her pregnancy!" Nina shouted, her anger growing as she glared at Andrew.

"Caroline isn’t lying," Andrew growled, his eyes darkening with rage. "How low can you possibly sink? You dared to have a pregnant woman killed. Even if you’re my sister, you won’t escape punishment for what you’ve done."

Nina smirked instead of showing any fear. "Bring that bitch here first. What kind of magic did she use on my little brother? You never fought with me over a woman before, and now you’re ready to turn against your own family for her."

She turned toward Miller, her expression hardening. "That’s an order, Miller. If you don’t want to die, drag that omega here right now."

Miller didn’t even move from his position. He remained completely still, making it clear that his loyalty belonged to Andrew alone. Nina’s status as the Alpha Princess meant nothing to him when Andrew had given him a direct order.

"Agh!" Nina gasped when Andrew’s hand suddenly clamped around her throat again. His grip tightened as his anger finally broke through his restraint.

"You should be grateful that Mom and Dad are the only reason I haven’t ended you for running your mouth like that," Andrew said coldly. His eyes remained fixed on hers, leaving no doubt that his patience was almost gone.

"Andrew, don’t do that!"

A voice suddenly came from the top of the stairs, making everyone in the room turn toward the sound. Caroline stood there, one hand resting against the railing as she looked down at them. She had heard the commotion from the maid in her service and, despite still feeling weak, had forced herself to come out.

"You can’t hurt your sister. Please," Caroline said.

Andrew’s grip around Nina’s throat remained firm for a moment, but his eyes shifted toward Caroline.

He let go of Nina, who coughed profusely while Andrew stood right next to Caroline.
