LUO YAN blinked, then let out a soft laugh. So that's why Shen Ji Yun had been acting so awkward. He'd been worried he had gone too far. That was so like him. Always thinking of Luo Yan first, even when he didn't need to.

"You don't have to apologize for that, Brother Ji Yun," he said softly. "Yes, you were a beast in bed." A literal beast, if he might add. "Something I didn't really expect. Not that I didn't enjoy it. I did. Very much. It might have hurt here and there, but I was happy too. Really happy. The fact that you couldn't help yourself just showed how attracted you are to me. And that's a boost to my confidence. Which says a lot, considering my confidence is already overflowing. So no, there's no need for any apologies."

Shen Ji Yun's ears went red. He rubbed the back of his neck, his fingers tugging at the collar of his shirt. He felt both relieved and flustered at the same time. He wanted to say something, but his brain still seemed to be lagging, because the next thing he said was, "Was I any good?"

Luo Yan stared at him for a second, then burst out laughing. Shen Ji Yun had a way of saying the most embarrassing things with a completely straight face, never seeming to realize how they sounded until after he said them. It was one of his charms, Luo Yan supposed. And one of the many reasons he had fallen for him.

He wanted to reach out and pinch Shen Ji Yun's cheeks, but the trays made it hard to reach over. So he just smiled and held his gaze. "Were you good? Of course you were. I couldn't have asked for anyone better for my first time. You set the bar so high. Honestly, I don't think anyone else would be able to come close."

The longer Luo Yan spoke, the hotter Shen Ji Yun's face grew. Why had he even asked that question? Was he out of his mind? Was his brain still clouded with lust that he couldn't think straight? That was the only explanation he could come up with. Then he caught Luo Yan's last words, about not anyone else coming close. For some reason, a sharp pang of jealousy stabbed at his chest. Because it sounded like there might be a chance someone else could come after him. He didn't like that thought at all. He didn't want anyone else to even have the chance.

Just the thought of someone else touching Luo Yan the way he had, of someone else seeing him flushed and breathless with that look of desire in his eyes, made something dark and possessive coil in his chest. If that ever happened, he might actually kill someone. And he wasn't even sure if he was joking when he thought that.

Luo Yan raised his brow as he watched the fascinating change of expression on Shen Ji Yun's face. From shy to murderous in a couple of seconds. "Brother Ji Yun, what are you thinking in that adorable head of yours? One second, you look like an angel, the next you look like you're planning to commit a crime."

He said it playfully, but he was genuinely curious about what had crossed Shen Ji Yun's mind to make his expression change like that.

Shen Ji Yun tried to school his features back to normal, not even aware that his feelings had been showing on his face. Of all times for his usually blank expression to betray him, it had to be now. But then again, Luo Yan had always been able to read him, even when there was hardly anything to read on his face.

Knowing how perceptive Luo Yan was, he decided to just be honest. "I felt... jealous."

A confused look crossed Luo Yan's face. He was probably trying to figure out how Shen Ji Yun had jumped to that conclusion from what they had just been talking about. "Of what?"

Shen Ji Yun looked away and mumbled, "That you'd do the things we did with someone else."

Luo Yan's eyes went wide. How had Shen Ji Yun even gotten to that? They had been having a light, playful conversation, and suddenly his brain had cooked up this imaginary 'someone else'? He didn't know whether to laugh or cry at that.

"I'm not going to do any of those things with anyone else," Luo Yan said, holding Shen Ji Yun's gaze so he could see how serious he was. "There's no one else I want, Ji Yun. There never has been, and there never will be." Then a small smile tugged at his lips. "Of course, I trust you feel the same?"

"Of course!" Shen Ji Yun said quickly. Then his expression faltered, and he winced. I'm sorry. I just got ahead of myself. You must think I'm weird."

Luo Yan chuckled. "You're my kind of weird, so it's fine."

Shen Ji Yun let out a quiet breath of relief. He had been so embarrassed by how he had acted. He felt like a child, unable to control his own thoughts. He couldn't believe he had let his jealousy show like that, and over nothing. Maybe his brain really was still clouded with lust. He was just grateful that Luo Yan didn't seem to mind.

"Let's eat breakfast before the food gets cold," Luo Yan said.

Shen Ji Yun was relieved to let the topic drop and nodded. "Okay."

He picked up his sandwich and took a bite. He glanced at Luo Yan and was glad to see the other seemed to be enjoying the congee. He was about to take another bite when Luo Yan suddenly spoke up.

"But you know, Brother Ji Yun, I think between the two of us, I should be the one who's jealous. After all, you were so good in bed. Who knows if you've done it before."

Shen Ji Yun coughed, nearly choking on his sandwich. "Wha—no! I was a virgin too. I—" He stopped when he caught the playful smile spreading across Luo Yan's face. It was clear then that Luo Yan had just been teasing him. Shen Ji Yun let out a breath and shook his head. "Yan Yan."
