The Rich Cultivator
Chapter 824. Tyler’s offer
Chapter 824: 824. Tyler’s offer
"All right, all right. Don’t misunderstand me." Tyler finally stopped his work and glanced toward the Sky Demoness. "I’m not the type to become committed to someone simply because we’ve spent some time together. At most, I prefer casual relationships."
The Sky Demoness stared at him for a moment before letting out a soft laugh. She walked toward one of the floating stone platforms and sat down gracefully, crossing one leg over the other.
"Then I suppose I don’t have to worry about you suddenly trying to become my husband."
Tyler gave her a strange look.
"Who said anything about marriage?"
"Exactly." She smiled.
Tyler shook his head and returned his attention to the formation in front of him. "Anyway, I am actually planning something. This current project will take quite some time to complete, but once it’s finished, I’m thinking of leaving the Dark Forest Society."
The Sky Demoness’s expression became serious.
"Leaving?"
"Yes."
"Are you planning to establish your own force?"
"Something like that." Tyler paused before adding, "But I don’t intend to establish an ordinary sect. I want something closer to a merchant sect."
"A merchant sect?"
The Sky Demoness’s interest immediately increased.
Tyler nodded. "I want to sell things. All kinds of things. Weapons, pills, transportation, formations, everyday necessities, entertainment... whatever I can produce. Then I’ll sell them throughout the world."
The Sky Demoness stared at him for several breaths.
"That sounds simple."
"It is simple."
"It isn’t."
She shook her head.
"Managing such a force is much more complicated than you think. The moment people realize how wealthy you are, you’ll become a target. Other merchants will fear you. Sects will fear you. Powerful families will want a piece of your business. Some will try to cooperate with you, while others will attempt to destroy you."
Tyler smiled.
"That’s why I want you."
The Sky Demoness raised an eyebrow.
"You’re straightforward."
"I know who you really are, after all."
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"Sky Demoness... or should I call you Murong Yue?"
The atmosphere instantly changed.
Murong Yue’s expression froze.
For the first time, the playful smile disappeared from her face.
"You knew?"
"The Sinclair sisters told me, apparently they heard it from their previous master."
She slowly narrowed her eyes.
"And what exactly do you want? The support of the Murong Family?"
"No."
Tyler shook his head.
"I want your support."
Murong Yue frowned.
"And what does that mean?"
"I want you to use the support and influence the Murong Family has given you."
Her expression became complicated.
"That isn’t possible."
"Why?"
Tyler looked genuinely confused.
"Aren’t you supposed to become the next head of the Murong Family?"
Murong Yue let out a quiet laugh.
"You’ve misunderstood the situation."
She leaned against the floating stone and sighed.
"There’s another person competing for the position. His name is Murong Xie Chen. He’s from one of the branch families and is also considered one of the most promising members of the younger generation."
"What’s his nickname?"
"The Blood Blade."
Tyler nodded thoughtfully.
"So there are two outstanding geniuses from the Murong Family. Isn’t that a good thing?"
"If only it were that simple."
Murong Yue’s smile became bitter.
"My family actually intends to give the position of family head to Murong Xie Chen."
Tyler’s eyebrows rose.
"A branch-family member?"
"Yes."
She nodded.
"And that’s where things become interesting. They originally told me that I could inherit the position as well, but only if I could defeat him in a fair battle."
Tyler frowned.
"And you can’t?"
Murong Yue shook her head.
"Not at the moment. He’s stronger than me."
She paused before continuing, "There’s another condition. They also suggested that I marry him. According to them, the descendants of two exceptionally talented cultivators would possess an even stronger bloodline."
Tyler’s expression became strange.
"So your family gave you two choices. Defeat him or marry him."
"Essentially."
Murong Yue sighed.
"Those two conditions tell you everything you need to know about what my family actually wants."
Tyler fell silent.
His fingers lightly tapped against the floating stone beside him as he thought.
The Murong Family was clearly attempting to use both possibilities to strengthen its future.
If Murong Yue defeated Murong Xie Chen, the strongest member of the younger generation would become the family head. If she married him, their descendants would potentially inherit both bloodlines.
Either way, the Murong Family would benefit.
Tyler suddenly looked up.
"If I can make the Murong Family support you, will you join me?"
Murong Yue was stunned.
She had expected him to ask for something difficult, but she hadn’t expected such a straightforward proposal.
"If you can help me take control of the Murong Family..."
She smiled.
"I’ll repay you."
"How?"
Murong Yue’s eyes narrowed playfully.
"I’ll let you fuck me."
Tyler didn’t hesitate.
"Deal."
Murong Yue froze.
She had expected him to at least think about it.
Instead, he had agreed so quickly that she almost wondered whether she had underestimated him.
After a brief silence, she extended her hand.
Tyler clasped it.
"It’s a deal."
Murong Yue smiled.
"Then I’ll be waiting."
Tyler suddenly frowned.
"Actually, I have a question."
"What?"
"Why don’t you just marry this Blood Blade fellow? Wouldn’t that be the easiest solution?"
Murong Yue’s expression instantly became strange.
"He is my half-brother."
Tyler’s hand stopped halfway toward the formation.
"...Oh."
For once, even he was completely speechless.
Murong Yue sighed.
"Now you understand why I don’t have any intention of choosing that option."
Tyler rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"I see."
He looked toward her with a complicated expression.
"Then I suppose your family really is determined to preserve its bloodline."
Murong Yue gave him an exasperated look.
"That’s one way of putting it."
Tyler shrugged.
"Either way, I’ll help you."
Murong Yue’s eyes flashed.
"Then I look forward to seeing how you’re planning to accomplish something even I couldn’t do."
Tyler turned back toward his unfinished formation.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Don’t worry."
His hands moved, and several floating materials immediately began arranging themselves according to his will.
"If I’m going to build a merchant sect that changes the entire cultivation world, having the Murong Family behind me isn’t a bad place to start."
