Chapter 790: Finally Back Home

"Ryukkun, you are back!"

It had been three hours since the game between Schalke and Union Berlin was over, and after what felt like an eternity, Higo was finally back at his own flat. When they saw this, Kumiko and Sakura jumped immediately, with the former wanting to hug her boyfriend. However, she stopped straight away, especially after looking at Higo’s right arm that had to be put in a sling.

"Oh, you both must be the girls who live with Higo, right?" Daniel Guzman came from behind, greeting them with the most charming smile that he could muster. "My name is Daniel Guzman, by the way, the team’s doctor and Higo’s best friend on the team. Nice to meet you. May I have the honor of your names?"

The two girls were taken aback at this sudden move. They looked at each other hesitantly, even stepping back with slight fear in their eyes. It was clear that in their eyes, Guzman’s move was a little bit creepy.

Higo himself couldn’t help but roll his eyes in exasperation. He knew full well the man’s obsession with Japanese girls, but the boy would never expect that Daniel Guzman would dare to flirt with Sakura and Kumiko, straight in front of his face.

Hell, Higo was sure that if he wasn’t here, the man would kneel immediately, starting to kiss the back of their hands like he was some sort of a noble person.

"Ouch! What the fuck?!" Daniel Guzman glared while rubbing his bum, not expecting Higo to kick it like that. "You know that you are injured, right? Stay down and be a good patient, will you?!"

"Fuck it! You know that I am injured, and you still dare to flirt with them?! And don’t think that because my hand is unavailable, I cannot kick your fucking ass!" Higo glared, returning the argument flawlessly. "Also, for your information, the girl on the left is my girlfriend, and the one on the right has already had a boyfriend back home! So, calm down, you old pervert!"

"...Tch! Another taken girl..." The man clicked his tongue in disappointment.

Higo just let out a relieved sigh when he saw the doctor give up immediately. For all the flaws the man had, he would never flirt with someone else’s girlfriend, fiancée, or wife. In his mind, that kind of relationship was sacred, and he didn’t dare to be the one who broke that.

At least, Daniel Guzman still had his principles, something that Higo was so relieved beyond a doubt.

Kumiko and Sakura themselves looked at each other in bewilderment. Honestly, they had already thought that about the worst-case scenario here, and yet, looking at Higo still being able to joke like this, they couldn’t help but doubt everything.

"Um... So, is the injury serious?" Kumiko couldn’t help but ask, her tone cautious.

"Just a shoulder dislocation, at least four weeks of recovery," Higo answered, trying to act nonchalant. "Anyway, Guz, where are the files? The result of the CT scan, I mean. They should be curious about that."

The doctor rolled his eyes back at him for a moment before taking a bunch of files from his bag. The two girls huddled quickly, looking at the X-Ray image cautiously. After that, Daniel Guzman also switched back to his doctor mode, starting to explain Higo’s injury and recovery process in the future.

"So, the first week is basically a phase to let his body try to recover first so that the damage wouldn’t spread?" Sakura asked, trying to confirm her understanding. "No, the second week should be the same, trying to protect his shoulder first. Still, his menu in the recovery training increases a little bit, trying to restore safe movement gradually, huh? That means everything will start in the second—no, it should be the third week."

Daniel Guzman arched one of his eyebrows slightly. "You sure know a lot about rehabilitation progress. Are you studying that?" He asked curiously.

"Um, we are students in the sports science program at the German Sport University Cologne, me and Kumiko-chan, I mean," Sakura said proudly.

"My alma mater, huh? Not bad, not bad..." Daniel Guzman mumbled lowly, nodding in approval as well.

With him knowing the girls’ background, the conversation became smoother. It was always easy to talk with smart people, as they understood everything easily. They talked about a lot of things, with mostly Kumiko asking about Higo’s rehabilitation plan and Guzman answering everything patiently.

Higo himself was so speechless right now, as he, the one who was injured, was being sidelined in this conversation.

"Anyway, Higo will need to rest soon, so I will leave as well." The man said, starting to pack everything into his bag again. "Just make sure that he follows the recovery plan! Don’t let him do anything stupid, and keep an eye on his mind! If you don’t watch him, he will get crazy so easily, you know?" He grinned jokingly at Higo.

The goalkeeper rolled his eyes once again, trying to kick the man on his bum like before. "Shut up and just go back, old pervert! Hush! Hush!"

Daniel Guzman grinned mischievously, bowing like a chivalrous man to the two girls before running away as quickly as possible. The man’s laughter echoed outside, clearly enjoying the fact that he managed to get under Higo’s skin.

"Tch! Disgusting old lecher." Higo scowled, staring at the man who slowly disappeared from his line of sight. "Anyway, don’t think too much about him! He might be a pervert, but—Ofh!"

The boy winced in surprise when Kumiko suddenly hugged him from behind. It was a gentle one, and the girl was definitely cautious here, not wanting to get into his injured shoulder. However, Higo could still feel the warmth on his back, and he couldn’t help but let out a deep, tired sigh right here.

After the doctor was finally gone, it seemed that all the tension in this room disappeared immediately, and right after that, Higo felt like his body seemed to lose all the strength remaining. However, despite all of that... Looking at the two girls in front of him, somehow, Higo felt like he was at peace right now.

"Sorry for making you both worry, but I am back... Tadaima, Minna..."
