The Rise of the Iron Wall!
Chapter 792: Life of an Injured Player (II)
Well... Higo took back whatever words he said about the situation was not as bad as he initially thought.
No, this was definitely the worst.
The first inconvenience came when he was about to sleep. Somehow, Higo was not allowed to put weight on the right side where his shoulder was injured. Well, it was pretty logical, and when Daniel Guzman said that, Higo didn’t take it seriously, even snorting sarcastically while muttering, ’As if I am that stupid...’
However, when he was already on the bed, the boy finally realized how hard it was to lean on only one side for the rest of the night. No, it wasn’t hard; it was pure torture. Hell, the boy was so afraid that his sore left shoulder would get injured next, and everything would be way more complicated.
In the end, after fighting against the discomfort of his sleeping position, the boy finally managed to knock himself out. However, that only happened because he was too exhausted. Higo didn’t want to imagine what would happen in the future regarding his sleep.
Then came the other inconveniences in his daily life. From putting on and taking off his shirt, going to the toilet, picking up something on the floor, and even trying to relax on the couch and getting up from a sitting position, everything was a struggle for him. His shoulder felt sore and weak, and it didn’t help that the sling really prevented him from moving it freely.
The constant fear of making a move was real here, as if a slight disturbance in his shoulder could destroy his body instantly.
His mood only got worse when he saw Kumiko and Sakura helping him without even complaining. From sweeping and mopping the floor, feeding him, helping him take off his shirt, and even messaging him gently, everything was done in silence, with the boy being allowed to enjoy the final result.
Still, if anything, this didn’t make him happy. Even though at first, Higo enjoyed the attention on him, after half a day like that, the boy couldn’t help but feel distressed, feeling like he owed them a lot at this point.
"And to think that this would happen for the next four weeks... Man, this is going to be a long month..." Higo sighed depreciatingly.
Both Sakura and Kumiko glanced at the boy immediately, hearing what he had just mumbled. The former even snorted a little here. "You know what, if it were any other people, they would be ecstatic to have two girls serving them at the same time like this, you know?" She arched her eyebrows playfully.
Higo couldn’t help but choke, and Kumiko’s face also blushed red like a ripe tomato at the innuendo that Sakura just spouted.
"W—What?! W—What are you saying, Sakura-san?!" Higo stuttered before wincing unconsciously. His cough earlier was enough to give a slight force that put discomfort on his shoulder once again.
"Y—Yes, Sakura-chan! You cannot say t—that casually like that!" Kumiko added, her voice in a high tone.
"What? I am not wrong here." Sakura just shrugged mischievously. "I mean, look at Ryusuke, being served by two pretty girls like us, and yet, he is so restless right now. He sure has a problem, right?" She pointed at Higo, whose eyes had deep, dark bags below, showing that he hadn’t had a good sleep last night. It seemed Sakura associated that with his current situation.
"No, it is just... You are not even complaining here, doing everything in this house while I cannot even lift my hand properly. Honestly, I didn’t even pay you a single Euro, you know?! And you are intending to stay here and help me until I recover?! Honestly, you guys are being too nice here, making me feel so guilty, you know?! How much would I owe you for everything that you have done here? I myself wouldn’t be able to count it, for God’s sake!"
The two girls were stunned for a second, not expecting Higo to rant like this. Still, they realized that the boy seemed to be burdened by the thought of bothering them like this, and they had to say something to reassure the boy that he didn’t need to worry about them.
Fortunately, they had a perfect reason for that.
"In case you didn’t notice it before, Ryusuke, we are basically living off your place right now. No, you can say that we are leeching off you." Sakura snorted sarcastically.
"I mean, we live under your roof, eating the food that you paid for, and we are even studying with the internet that you provide. God, we are basically living a luxurious life when everyone is worried about rent and so many other things just because of you! And you think you are still owing us for some trivial things that we did when you are down like this? Then, how much do you think we are owing you so far?"
Well... At least, that was not the kind of answer that Higo was expecting. Not that he expected something, but the boy had never thought that Sakura would be this confrontational toward him.
"I might put it a little bit more politely, but I agree with what Sakura-chan said here." Kumiko chimed in, her eyes staring directly into his soul as if she didn’t accept any refusal. "I know that you are anxious and frustrated with your shoulder right now, but that doesn’t mean you have to reject the help that is offered to you. Don’t be ashamed to admit that you need help, okay? You are human, not Kami-sama."
Higo exchanged an intent gaze with Kumiko for a second, as if he was still unwilling to accept what she said. Honestly, it wasn’t like him to refuse help from Kumiko, but this was indeed a little bit too much. He hated the feeling of helplessness like this, not being able to do anything.
In the end, with his shoulder throbbing in pain, the boy finally let out a deep sigh, letting his body sink into the comfortable couch before muttering, ’Whatever...’
