The Rise of the Iron Wall!
Chapter 818 - 5V5 Game! (II)
Honestly, Higo had been ready to face this shot. Before his brain could send an image of where the ball would be, he had shifted his center of mass slightly toward the right side, one second away from diving to that side.
However, to his surprise, his clairvoyant ability gave the boy an image of two pairs of feet suddenly sliding in front of him, getting up so high it even covered the boy’s field of view. Not that the goalkeeper complained, of course, because in the next second...
BAM!
The shot from Mark Uth was launched, and yet it only met Sead Kolasinac’s feet, blocking it completely. Behind, Malik Thiaw also made the same move so that when the ball slipped from the veteran, he would still be able to deflect it.
Two moves from two different players without coordinating with each other, and yet, they synchronized well to get rid of the opponent’s attack so easily. If this wasn’t a reason for Higo to be excited, the boy didn’t know what else could make him feel that way.
"Damn, Kolasinac-san! Malik! That’s a crazy blockade from you two!" He laughed a little bit while helping those two get up from the ground. "Mikail, you have to thank them for this one, okay? That shot is your responsibility!" The boy also didn’t forget to remind the midfielder.
"Yes, Higo! That’s my bad." Mikail Maden nodded in annoyance.
The Norway midfielder knew that he would lose in a physical contest against Mark Uth, but the fact that he was helpless to let the striker do anything he wanted was unacceptable.
After this, the game continued once again with a corner for team B. So far, they had been dominating possession, and yet, none of them managed to make Higo work. This alone was enough to drive them crazy, and right now, all they wanted to do was get a good shot on goal first before thinking about the goal itself.
Unfortunately, the corner kick was bad.
Omar Mascarell tried to send the ball to the back post where Sebastian Rudy was sneaking, but if anything, the ball was closer to Higo than anyone else. Aerial catch was one of Higo’s stronger points, so it was easy for him to pick it up.
Thud!
Still, the sequence didn’t end up in his hand. No, this was the team’s chance to launch their first attack, so Higo moved quickly. His eyes darted forward to find where Luca was running, and without hesitation, he threw the ball there.
Thud!
"Fuck! Come on, Luca!" Higo shouted, ignoring the tightness on his shoulder. It was the first time today he tried to exert his strength from that part of his body, and the feeling was quite strange. ’Fortunately, it is not pain, so I think it is alright.’ He mumbled secretly after that.
On the front, Luca Schuler was battling against Sebastian Rudy as they ran with almost the same speed to chase the ball. Still, Higo’s throw was in the direction that favored Luca on the left side, so it was clear that the striker would get the ball.
The only unfortunate part, though, was that Omar Mascarell managed to recover quicker than ever, and the striker couldn’t find any support from the back. In the end, in a panic, Luca Schuler tried to shift the ball to his right foot first before forcing a shot that, while quite decent in aim, only rolled weakly to the other side of the goal.
Thud!
"FUCK!" The boy couldn’t help but curse. "Mikail, where is the support here?! I cannot fight alone!" He threw his hands up in frustration.
Poor Mikail Maden, this was his first ever experience fighting in the first team, and yet, he got scolded twice for his poor defense and offense performance. The boy was so flustered, wanting to defend himself. Unfortunately, words seemed to stick in his throat, unable to come out at the last moment.
Unfortunately, he didn’t have any time to lament that. No, the next attack came from the opponent’s side, and this time, it was clear that they were targeting Mikail Maden here.
Omar Mascarell and Suat Serdar found themselves around that boy, and Mark Uth even tried to make a diagonal run to cut to Higo’s territory from that boy’s blind spot. Everyone saw how flustered the boy was, and no one really gave him mercy right now.
’Fuck! A bunch of cowards, they are!’ Higo couldn’t help but curse when he saw this.
A moment later, the next attack came from the middle, just as expected. When Sead Kolasinac was about to help Mikail Maden, Omar Mascarell took that moment as a chance to send a through pass, letting Mark Uth get the ball.
The situation was exactly the same as team B’s first chance, with Malik Thiaw putting pressure on the striker fiercely. However, this time, the tall, lanky man managed to stay calm until the end, creating room for himself with a little push forward to beat the defender in speed before delivering a precise shot to the far post of the goal.
BAM!
The shot was low and went to a tricky direction. However, Higo had already read it before the action was on board. With a split move, he spread his legs wide, blocking the shot with his right foot.
As the rebound ball bounced slightly away from the goal, Sead Kolasinac picked it up quickly, and before anyone from team B could recover, a quick one-touch pass sequence between the defender, Mikail Maden, and Luca Schuler happened in a blink.
Hell, even Luca Schuler himself was confused when he felt like the ball was falling on his feet. He didn’t expect that Mikail Maden would be able to deflect the ball lightly without anyone noticing, so that the ball would go directly at him.
However, no matter what his feelings were right now, his instinct still took over at this moment. With a quick turn-around move exactly like how Mark Uth did earlier, he distanced himself from Sebastian Rudy and let him face the goal directly, and without hesitation...
BAM!
The shot was taken, and this time, it was a quality shot.
