Chapter 218: Chapter 218: A Big Order for Ornamental Fish

Ye Feng smiled and looked straight ahead.

"Because of you! You love the ocean so much, and you’ll be fishing often. If we get married, one of us has to be able to focus on our home."

"If I kept my old job, I wouldn’t be able to manage things at home. I don’t think it would feel like a proper home, and without a parent around to guide and care for them, the children might go down the wrong path."

Han Xiaorui was startled for a moment, then she smiled. Turning her head to look at Ye Feng, her eyes filled with happiness.

"Ye Feng, do you really think that way?"

Ye Feng nodded. "Yes. We’re both still young, and we’ll have children. With at least three kids at home, someone needs to be there for them."

Han Xiaorui’s face grew a little warm. ’But for Ye Feng to think this way... it proves he’s seriously thinking about their future.’

"You’ll definitely be a good father someday."

Seeing that the road ahead was clear of pedestrians, Ye Feng finally gave in to the urge. He turned to glance at Han Xiaorui, the corners of his eyes crinkling. "I think so too. And you’ve always been a good mother."

Han Xiaorui paused. "You think I’m a good mother?"

"I do," Ye Feng nodded.

Han Xiaorui shook her head. She loved children, but she hadn’t put her own life on hold for them.

"But I don’t take care of Pingping and An’an myself. I’m often out at sea. I have to entrust them to my sister, and in the future, I’ll have to rely on Wu Jiao and Wu Yao."

Ye Feng shook his head. "Without the financial foundation you provide, Pingping and An’an wouldn’t have such a comfortable and prosperous life."

"Their grandfather might have been able to provide other things, but building a kindergarten just for the children... even if he were capable, it’s not something he would have necessarily thought to do."

"You’re always going to the hospital and talking with doctors about getting the kids better intervention therapy. Whenever you come back from a trip, you always spend time with them."

"You’re already doing more than enough; you don’t have to handle every single thing yourself. You’re their mother, but you’re also Han Xiaorui. Since you can get help taking care of them, why shouldn’t you be able to balance that with your own hobbies and career?"

Hearing Ye Feng’s heartfelt validation for the first time, Han Xiaorui smiled. "Ye Feng, you’re wonderful."

’Not only was Ye Feng coolly handsome, but he was also so understanding. He was truly a great boyfriend.’

"You’re even better!" Ye Feng’s words of affection were simple, but so sweet.

When they got home, the children were playing in the yard.

"Mommy!" Seeing their mother had returned, Pingping and An’an rushed over to hug her affectionately.

They hadn’t grown distant just because Han Xiaorui had been away for a while.

In fact, Han Xiaoqing was a huge reason for this. While her older sister was away, she took comprehensive care of Pingping and An’an.

During meals, if she saw a dish on the table that her sister liked, she would tell Pingping and An’an that their mommy liked it too.

At bedtime, she would always show them a photo of her sister, reminding them that the person who loved them most in this world was their mother.

It worked very well. Pingping and An’an were very attached to their mother and trusted her completely.

When their mother was away, they would often ask, "When is Mommy coming home?"

Han Xiaorui hugged her two little treasures and gave them kisses. "Pingping, An’an, this is Uncle Ye."

"Hello, Uncle Ye." The two little ones greeted Ye Feng politely.

Like a magician, Ye Feng produced two lollipops.

Just then, Cai Wenjun ran over from a distance, looking at Ye Feng hopefully. "Uncle Ye."

Luckily, Ye Feng had brought extras, or it would have been awkward.

These were all imported. Although he didn’t have any children at home, ever since he and Han Xiaorui started dating, he’d had Uncle Xu mail them over from the United States.

The colorful packaging and novel little treats were great for catching kids’ attention.

Han Xiaoqing was hanging clothes out to dry. Seeing her sister, she was overjoyed. "Sis, it’s so good to have you back safe and sound."

"Xiao Jing, thank you." Han Xiaorui hugged her younger sister, grateful for her help.

Han Xiaoqing smiled. "Sis, don’t mention it. You must be hungry, right? We have rice in the house. Should I make you a bowl of seafood fried rice?"

"Yes!" Han Xiaorui nodded. The airplane food hadn’t been very good.

"Brother Ye, have you eaten?" Han Xiaoqing asked.

Ye Feng smiled. "I haven’t had lunch yet. Xiao Jing, if you make extra, I’ll have some too."

"You got it! It’ll be quick," Han Xiaoqing said with a smile. After finishing with the laundry, she headed to the kitchen.

Chen Yishui and Liang Xiaoyu had returned from sea yesterday and brought a lot of seafood.

They had helped clean the seafood, sorting it before putting it in the refrigerator.

With plenty of ingredients on hand, she made a deluxe seafood fried rice.

She also made a vegetable and tofu soup.

’With Ye Feng here, this much fried rice probably won’t be enough.’

They also had large Henan-style steamed buns that Wu Jiao and Wu Yao had made that morning, which were delicious.

So, Han Xiaoqing sliced two of the buns, coated the slices in beaten egg, and pan-fried them.

Soon, the fragrant, egg-coated bun slices were ready.

In small bowls on the table, she placed side dishes like braised bamboo shoots, a savory chili sauce, and pickled cucumbers.

All told, the meal was ready in just twenty minutes.

Eating the meal her sister made, Han Xiaorui was completely content. "Xiao Jing, how have things been while I was gone?"

Han Xiaoqing thought for a moment. "Pingping, An’an, and everyone at home have been fine. Sister Yishui and Sister Xiao Yu took the crew out to sea with Uncle Yang."

"This trip was a bit long; they were gone for four days and nights before coming back. They said that despite the long trip, the seafood they caught didn’t sell for much. After costs, they only cleared a few tens of thousands. When they came over yesterday, they said they were sorry for letting you down."

Han Xiaorui smiled. "Making tens of thousands is not bad at all!"

"That’s what I said to comfort them," Han Xiaoqing chuckled. "But in the end, they said they had to admit that your luck is just stronger, Sis."

Han Xiaorui chuckled. "It’s nothing special. What else happened?"

"There is!" Han Xiaoqing replied, ladling half a bowl of soup for her sister. "Brother Jianguo got into an argument with Director Lin from the village. They almost came to blows."

"Huh?" Han Xiaorui was stunned and couldn’t believe it. "Brother Jianguo is so level-headed. How could he possibly get into a fight?"

Yang Jianguo was always so proper in his conduct. For him to almost get into a physical fight, it must have been over something serious.

Han Xiaoqing replied, "Sister Cai was the one who told me. Brother Jianguo didn’t say anything about it, probably because you were away and he didn’t want to worry me."

"This is what happened. The ornamental fish farm recently secured several orders. The total value is over 1.5 million. News of this reached Director Lin’s ears."

Han Xiaorui froze when she heard this, not expecting a single trade show to bring in so many orders. "Orders worth over a million? That many?"

Han Xiaoqing nodded. "During your research trip to Japan, Uncle Xu’s son placed an order from Hong Kong, and customers from Singapore and Malaysia placed orders too!"

"And you’ll never guess where the biggest order came from! Take a guess, Sis!"

For the moment, Han Xiaorui forgot all about the issue with Director Lin. After thinking carefully, she guessed, "Could it be an order from Japan?"
