SUMMARY
As an assassin, I am familiar with every kind of torture device a person can build. I've been burned, starved, beaten, drugged, and pushed past the limits of what most people would consider survivable. I know my own body better than I know anything else; I know how it reacts to pain, where it is strongest, where it is weakest, and exactly how much it can endure.
What I have never experienced is this.
There are hands moving over my body; a stubborn pair resting firmly around my waist, someone holding my feet with all the tenderness in the world, another hand wrapped around mine while warm lips press against the skin of my exposed shoulder, and I flinch.
I have been tortured in more ways than I care to remember, but somehow this is the first situation in which I genuinely have no idea what I'm supposed to do.
And then I hear someone say, “Brianna?”
Brianna.
Apparently, that's my name now.
…
After I died as an assassin, betrayed by my own partners, I woke up in the body of a girl named Brianna.
She was a wolfless Omega, bullied and humiliated until she had all but given up on herself. I don't usually feel sorry for people; sympathy was never much use in my line of work. But I don't owe favors, either, and this body was given to me for a reason.
So, I'll settle her debts.
Then I'm going to live.
For the first time in my life, I get to decide what happens next. No master, no orders, no one telling me where I belong or what I'm supposed to be. I want to know what freedom feels like, and I'm going to enjoy every second of it.
At least, that was the plan.
Then four Alphas started paying attention to me.
And apparently, they're persistent as hell.
