A chorus of sycophantic laughter erupted behind him.

Jane smirked from the side, practically vibrating with nasty glee, while Valentina offered a faint, pitiful sigh, murmuring softly from behind Kano, "Kano, please don’t be too harsh on her... she probably didn’t have a choice."

I didn’t look at Kano. My eyes cut clean over his shoulder, locking like twin laser sights onto Valentina’s delicate, innocent face.

"Did you do this?" I asked flatly.

The moment the words left my lips, the entire room turned defensive.

"How dare you accuse Valentina!" one student barked from the third row.

"She’s been nothing but sweet and generous to you, and all you ever do is treat her like the villain!"

"Ungrateful wench!"

"We all still remember how you pushed her at the training facility! Useless Omega, we’re definitely not letting you get away with it anymore!"

Behind Kano’s wide shoulder, Valentina lowered her lashes demurely, but a sharp, venomous little grin curled the corners of her lips.

She really thought she was winning this. She honestly believed that hiding behind an Alpha and playing the fragile white lotus so everyone would be on her side gave her an impenetrable fortress.

Unfortunately for her, she couldn’t have been more wrong.

One of Kano’s lackeys leaned casually against an adjacent desk, puffing his chest out as he sneered loud enough for the entire hallway to hear. "Consider it our special welcome-back gift, Wells! We spent all morning gathering the best scraps from the cafeteria bins just to make you feel right at home. Savor every last bit of it, you beggar!"

A ripple of vicious laughter erupted across the room.

"Make sure you eat up every single bite, rat," Stephanie chimed in, tossing her hair with a nasty smirk. "Don’t leave anything behind!"

"So..." I murmured, tilting my head slightly. "You all did this?"

Jane stepped forward, crossing her arms and tossing her hair, emboldened by the roar of the crowd. "So what if we did? You’re trash, Wells. And trash belongs with trash."

A sharp smile touched the edge of my lips.

"You’re right about one thing," I said smoothly.

In the next split second, before anyone could even blink, my hands shot out. I grabbed the underside of the heavy wooden desk, channeled a sharp burst of kinetic leverage through my hips, and flipped the entire thing with violent, explosive force.

The desk slammed forward through the air, sending the rotting garbage, the slime, the putrid food waste, the dead rat, and the dripping tomato paste rocketing outward in a massive, disgusting arc directly at Kano, Jane, Stephanie, and the rows of seats around.

"AAAUUUGH!"

"GET IT OFF ME!"

"GROSS! WHAT THE HELL?!"

Shrieks and panicked screams shattered the room as high-born students scrambled backward over chairs and desks, flailing wildly.

Red tomato paste splattered across pristine white uniform shirts, rotting lettuce stuck to designer blazers, and the dead rat landed with a sickening thud right against the toe of Kano’s leather boots.

"Trash belongs with trash," I remarked casually, resting my hands on my hips as they writhed in revulsion. "Make sure you keep every bit of it. You belong together."

"Brianna, have you lost your damn mind?!" Stephanie shrieked, batting frantically at a clump of wet paper towels clinging to her shoulder.

I didn’t even spare her a glance. Stepping over a puddle of red sauce, I pulled out a fresh handkerchief from my blazer pocket, took a bottle of disinfectant spray from my bag, and began wiping down the clean underside of the upturned desk so I could set it right.

And why do I carry a bottle of disinfectant spray around? Simple, it’s so I can wipe away the gems that these pest will surely bring when they flock me like bugs.

Just then, the classroom door swung open with a loud rattle, and the homeroom teacher stepped inside.

Valentina didn’t waste a second. As the class representative, she immediately rushed forward, her big doe eyes glistening with unshed tears, her hands trembling as she pointed toward the chaos.

"Teacher, it’s awful!" Valentina gasped out, her voice quivering with perfect, fragile distress. "Brianna Wells... she just threw rotting trash and carcasses at everyone in the class!"

The teacher took one look at the disgusting mess, her face turning crimson with pure outrage.

She had brown hair, and looked as haughty as any other high ranking instructor in white, and that told me she was just as easy to manipulate.

She marched up to the front podium, slammed her heavy grading folders down onto her desk with a thunderous BANG!, and pointed a trembling, furious index finger straight at my face.

"Brianna Wells! You literally just returned from an official suspension, and you’re already causing violent disruptions! Do you hate coming to school that much?! Principal’s office, right this second!"

I stopped wiping the wood.

Slowly, I tilted my head back, looking directly into the teacher’s venomous eyes. A slow, mocking sneer curled across my lips, and a low, airy chuckle slipped past my throat.

"Heh."

The entire room went dead silent. The students, still covered in grime, stared at me in disbelief.

"Is she crazy?"

"Did she just openly sneer at a faculty member?"

"Before you assign blame, teacher," I said, my voice cold and dripping with mockery, "why don’t you ask who brought the trash into this classroom in the first place?"

"Of course it was you!" the teacher immediately snapped back, not hesitating for a single second. Her lip curled in pure disgust. "Who else but a useless, low-class Omega who crawls out of the slums every morning would drag filthy garbage into an elite Academy?!"

"Is that so?" I murmured.

A sharp, thin smile cut across my lips, my eyes narrowing as I stood tall amidst the filth.

I calmly folded my arms over my chest, letting my gaze drift over the sauce stains dripping down their blazers before locking onto the teacher’s flushed, furious face.

"Teacher," I said smoothly, my voice cutting cleanly through the ambient murmurs. "Let’s make a bet."

The teacher, known as Tisha, eyebrows snapped together in pure disbelief. "A bet?"

"Yes. If I can prove that I wasn’t the one who brought this filth into the building, wasn’t the one who started this mess, and wasn’t the one who littered this classroom... I want a formal, public apology from you."

"How dare you!" Tisha practically screeched, her face contorting in outraged offense. Her hand slapped hard against the wooden podium. "Who do you think you are, an unawakened Omega demanding an apology from an instructor?! You have no respect, no shame—"

"I am a student," I cut in, my tone flat, calm, and utterly immovable. "And I am currently being wronged by a faculty member whose first instinct was to condemn me without asking a single question. So, why shouldn’t I fight back?"
