The moment her words fell, the power within Lu Sangjiu seamlessly switched, and she unleashed a killing blow at Ye Wucheng, “Immortal Demon Attraction!”

Ye Wucheng’s pupils shrank. He was terrified by the power of this move, but also shocked by the type of power she was using… ‘He’d never seen it before… what in the world is it?’

Despite his surprise, Ye Wucheng didn’t forget to defend himself.

The attack was so powerful that he had to ignore the Demon Eye Fire and focus all his strength on defending against it.

As a result, he barely managed to block Lu Sangjiu’s attack, but in doing so, he instantly provoked the Demon Eye Fire into attacking him!

Naturally, Lu Sangjiu wouldn’t let such a good opportunity slip by. She formed another hand seal and unleashed it again—Immortal Demon Attraction!

‘Hmm, you don’t need a lot of moves. As long as they’re effective, that’s all that matters!’

‘There’s no need to get bogged down in a long fight. I’ll just hit him with my most powerful attacks.’

Ye Wucheng was forced into a desperate, wretched state. The Demon Eye Fire clung to him tenaciously, making it impossible to escape.

On the verge of being completely engulfed by the flames, Ye Wucheng grit his teeth and abandoned his physical body. With a SWOOSH, his Primordial Spirit shot out, trying to flee.

But Lu Sangjiu had no intention of letting him escape. She instantly formed a hand seal and trapped the fleeing Primordial Spirit.

‘I was going to destroy it outright, but then I remembered the new Magic Treasure I bought, the Soul Binding Bell, can capture souls.’

‘Although Lie Rufeng never said so, he’s never given up on avenging his junior brother. They must have been very close.’

‘That being the case, he’d probably much rather avenge his junior brother with his own hands, right?’

‘If it weren’t possible, I’d just let it go. But since I have the means, I’ll take Ye Wucheng’s Primordial Spirit back and hand it over to Lie Rufeng to deal with.’

With that thought, Lu Sangjiu secured it with the Soul Binding Bell.

When she looked up again, Ye Wucheng’s body had been burned to nothing by the Demon Eye Fire.

‘Looking at the very satisfied-looking Demon Eye Fire,’ Lu Sangjiu thought, ‘an Abnormal Fire isn’t an urgent need for me, but since I’ve already come across it, there’s no reason not to take it, right?’

The Demon Eye Fire enjoys devouring Demonic Qi, which was why Ye Wucheng’s previous attempt had failed.

But Lu Sangjiu wasn’t limited to using just Demonic Qi.

Thinking that it might also reject Immortal Qi, Lu Sangjiu decided to simply use her own true power to subdue it.

She was a bit tentative at first, but to her surprise, the moment she released her aura, the Demon Eye Fire visibly trembled, as if terrified!

Lu Sangjiu froze for a moment. ‘Afraid? Why?’

‘Could it be because of that strange, Divine Power-like aura mixed into my own power?’

‘Or maybe… it really is Divine Power?’

‘Lu Sangjiu had a feeling her path of Cultivating Immortality was likely one no predecessor had ever walked. That was why she couldn’t make heads or tails of any of this.’

‘If I can’t figure it out, I won’t dwell on it.’ Because the Demon Eye Fire feared her power, it became exceptionally docile, making the subduing process unbelievably smooth.

In fact, Lu Sangjiu had only intended to temporarily store it away, but it took the initiative to enter her body and truly become her personal Abnormal Fire.

It… acknowledged her as its master with stunning speed.

This left Lu Sangjiu at a loss for words. She had never heard of anyone subduing an Abnormal Fire so easily.

‘They say the more powerful the Abnormal Fire, the wilder and harder it is to tame. It can take some people months or even years… but I’m probably the only one who’s ever done it in an instant, right?’

She looked inward and saw it resting quietly in her Dantian. Seeing no issues, Lu Sangjiu paid it no further mind.

She searched the entire underground palace and found some Demon Essence Stones, Elixir Pills, and other similar items, but nothing else of significant value.

‘It was a bit of a shame. Both of them had been burned to a crisp by the Demon Eye Fire, leaving not even a speck behind. Otherwise, getting my hands on their two storage bags would have been a huge score!’

Just as she was lamenting her loss, she heard a noise from behind. A cautious, probing voice called out, “Ye? Li Dao You? Mr. Lu? Are you all right?”

It was Sun Rang’s voice. Lu Sangjiu understood immediately. ‘They must have waited up top for a long time, and when no one appeared, they couldn’t resist coming down to check.’

Two people were now missing, with no sign of them, dead or alive. Lu Sangjiu knew she couldn’t hide it even if she wanted to.

So she didn’t try to hide anything. She walked calmly out of the underground palace and said to the two waiting above, “There was a small accident down there. The other two are already dead.”

Fan Xing was dumbfounded. “D-dead? How did they die?”

Lu Sangjiu gave her a faint smile. “Ye Wucheng killed Li Qifeng, and then I killed Ye Wucheng.”

Fan Xing was speechless.

Sun Rang was speechless.

The expressions on both their faces stiffened. Though they remained silent, the same thought ran through both their minds… ‘How can she say that so calmly and casually?’

Fan Xing opened her mouth, about to ask more, but then snapped it shut without a word.

‘Lu Sangjiu didn’t say so, but for the three of them to end up fighting amongst themselves, there must have been some kind of treasure down there, right?’

‘This Lu Yi managed to kill the other two and walk out unscathed. You don’t have to be a genius to know he’s not someone to mess with.’

‘If we ask too many questions, he might misunderstand and think we’re after whatever treasure he got. What if he decides to just tie up loose ends and kill us both?’

Thus, Fan Xing and Sun Rang both made the wise choice to keep their mouths shut. No one dared to ask any more questions.

Fan Xing gave a dry laugh. “Well… there’s nothing else here. Let’s get going!”

And so, the team of five became a team of three, continuing their exploration of the Secret Realm.

With Fan Xing’s Compass, the group made good gains along the way. They also smoothly found the way to the Secret Realm Center and began heading in that direction.

They occasionally encountered other Cultivators, but most had already formed teams centered around a member of the Fan Family, so Lu Sangjiu’s group didn’t expand.

When they were very close to the Secret Realm Center, Lu Sangjiu finally ran into Yan Xue.

She was teamed up with a young man from the Fan Family in a group of four.

When the two parties met, Fan Xing and the Fan Family member from the opposing team were about to part ways with a polite nod, just as they had with other groups.

But to everyone’s surprise, Yan Xue strode brazenly over to Lu Sangjiu’s side. “Mr. Lu, I’ve been looking all over for you! I finally found you!”

As she spoke, she grabbed Lu Sangjiu’s hand. “Now we can go together!”

Lu Sangjiu blinked, stunned. Before she could say a word, the man from the Fan Family on Yan Xue’s team scowled. “Yan Xue, what is the meaning of this? Did you ask my permission to leave the team?”

Fan Xing also spoke up hesitantly, “Uh… Mr. Lu, it’s not really right to just poach someone’s teammate like this. Maybe we should…”

Before she could finish, Yan Xue raised an eyebrow and said, “Who said anything about joining your team?”

With that, she pulled Lu Sangjiu behind her. “What I mean is, he and I are going to be a team of two. Got it?”
