Chapter 1001 - 1101: I'm Sticking With You

Da Ben thought about it and felt that Ye Tianfan's words made sense. If he became an Immortal and then went to worship at his parents' grave, wouldn't it be even more impressive!

Moreover, he could also assure his parents that he had become the Immortal they had always wanted him to be. Most importantly, by then, he could refurbish his parents' grave properly. Upon hearing this, Ye Tianfan finally understood why there were only a few people below; they knew the real test location wasn't here.

In a blink, Ye Tianfan followed the steward to the gate of a large courtyard, and then he and Da Ben were led to a stage inside!

"Please wait a moment while I notify the lady of the house," the steward said, bowing to Da Ben, then stepped back.

Seeing the steward leave, Ye Tianfan tactfully jumped off the stage and said to Da Ben up there, "Don't be nervous, just use all your strength. Winning or losing doesn't matter!"

Upon hearing Ye Tianfan's words, any trace of nervousness vanished instantly.

Soon, Ye Tianfan saw a woman covered in a black veil come out. He couldn't see what she looked like. She walked onto the stage and scrutinized Da Ben!

"Are you the one who defeated the steward?" the woman asked, looking at Da Ben!

Hearing the woman's question, Da Ben scratched his head awkwardly, saying, "I didn't actually fight the steward. He simply said he couldn't beat me and brought me here in the afternoon!"

When the woman heard this, she chuckled and said, "You're quite straightforward. But if the steward admits you're better, obviously you've got some skills. Are you ready? If so, let's start!"

Da Ben hurriedly nodded and said, "I'm ready and can start anytime!"

"Be careful then!"

After saying this, the woman launched a palm strike directly at Da Ben's face.

Ye Tianfan watched the relentless move, thinking if it struck an ordinary person, they'd probably die on the spot. Even if it hit Da Ben now, it would severely injure him.

Ye Tianfan inwardly drew a cold breath; this woman was ruthless, and her change of demeanor was too quick. Just a moment ago, she was all smiles, and in the blink of an eye, she was going for the kill!

However, Da Ben dodged slightly to the side, and the woman's palm passed just past Da Ben's cheek, not touching him at all!

The woman, seeing Da Ben dodge her palm, followed up with another strike from below, the angle cunning and the power immense. Ye Tianfan observed that if Da Ben failed to dodge this, the strike would hit his heart directly—essentially, Da Ben would die if struck, as even with his skills, a hit to the heart would be fatal!

Moreover, this palm was dangerously close and the angle deviously tricky, making it nearly impossible for Da Ben to dodge. Ye Tianfan frowned, contemplating whether to intervene in the duel, but then Da Ben struck back palm to palm.

Both Da Ben and the woman stepped back several paces simultaneously. Seeing this, Ye Tianfan relaxed; it seemed the woman's skills weren't far superior to Da Ben's. Perhaps the woman's speed was slightly better, yet Ye Tianfan couldn't sense any Spiritual Power from her, suggesting her strength was limited.

After retreating a few steps, Da Ben quickly charged forward, pulling his fist back before hammering it toward her.

Ye Tianfan observed Da Ben's fierce punch and mused silently: My goodness, how can you be so ruthless with a woman? How will you find a wife? And you aimed for her face, wasn't that harsh?

Although Ye Tianfan couldn't see the woman's expression, he sensed she might be angry. After all, anyone would be mad if their face was targeted.

The woman slightly tilted her head, dodging Da Ben's heavy punch, then formed her right hand into a knife, striking at Da Ben's ribs with chilling intent!

The woman froze completely, then muttered, "I guess this is fate!"

The woman explained, "I wore the black veil as a test for you. If you could pull it off without my prompting, then you passed my test and can be my husband!"

After hearing this explanation, Ye Tianfan was even more dumbstruck. What? How could there be such logic? Could this be some local custom? And this sort of test is utterly bewildering. So if Da Ben defeated the woman but didn't uncover her veil, she wouldn't have acknowledged him. Da Ben's current success can only be described as a fluke!
