Ye Tianfan did not pay any attention to Ling Yuan's words, and continued to watch him warily.

Ling Yuan scratched his head in frustration and said, "Why? Why don't you believe me? If I say I won't do anything to you, then I won't. I have that level of trustworthiness! Don't be so guarded against me."

Ling Yuan heard Ye Tianfan's words and curled his lips in disdain, not caring about Ye Tianfan's sarcasm.

Hearing Ling Yuan's words, Ye Tianfan frowned deeply, responding seriously to Ling Yuan, "I reiterate, I will not join your Demon Sect as a demon, nor will I become your Demon Sect Leader. I am a person of the righteous path, not a demon from your sect, and we are irreconcilable foes. So stop saying things like I'll be your next Demon Sect Leader."

"That's not what I said!" Ling Yuan replied with a sly smile, "If you want to stop people from saying such things, you shouldn't come to me but should go to Zhang Youji. He's the one who said so; why not tell him directly the next time you meet him?"

"I will tell him when I meet him next time, you don't need to worry about it. He's his, and you're yours. I'll address his words to him, and you won't repeat them!" Ye Tianfan said seriously, though he thought, if he wasn't weaker than Ling Yuan, he'd punch him hard enough to silence him!

Ye Tianfan was displeased with these rumors because he understood clearly the power of words. If these words spread among the Demon Sect demons, even if unwilling, somebody might believe them eventually. If someone believes them, Ye Tianfan would end up being gossiped about in the righteous path. Although Ye Tianfan didn't care much, his master Tian Chu Zhenren would. Seeing this, Ye Tianfan dared not stay any longer and swiftly flew off in one direction.
