Chapter 1272 - 1372: First Battle Against the Elder

Therefore, Bai Feng felt greatly aggrieved, after all, he couldn't unleash his true power in battle, and this time, the competition was against those elders, so Bai Feng believed she had no way to secure a good ranking!

But in the blink of an eye, Bai Feng didn't care about this matter anymore because there was no reward or punishment regardless of victory or defeat, so this martial arts tournament was just for fun, especially since he was waiting for his master to forge a Magical Treasure, so before that, he just wanted some amusement!

In the blink of an eye, after the draw was completed, the competition began.

Each Sect Leader's position was at the front, and there were a few extra seats prepared because some Elders were not participating in the tournament, so those were prepared for them!

While Ye Tianfan was still chatting, he heard a loud shout from the arena stage. The shout wasn't loud, but it could be clearly heard by everyone.

After the shout sounded, the entire Martial Arts Arena quieted down.

In the center of the Martial Arts Arena, Taichu Zhenren flashed into view, and with a voice not loud yet audible to everyone, he said, "This entertainment-oriented martial arts tournament will be presided over by me as the chief referee, with other Sect Leaders serving as assistant referees, so don't cheat, just act accordingly since this is for entertainment and there are no rewards, try your best not to get hurt. If you are about to get injured, don't force yourself, just surrender directly, don't show off because showing off will burden us!"

After speaking, Taichu Zhenren raised a sword finger and commanded, "Rise!"

Then the Martial Arts Arena instantly divided into one hundred and twenty-eight platforms; actually, this was done by Ye Tianfan, as instructed by Taichu Zhenren through sound transmission. The following operation was Taichu Zhenren's, where every platform was simultaneously enveloped by a bright thin film.

This bright thin film was an Array, to prevent the competitors inside from throwing moves outside, preventing them from interfering with other platforms or being interfered by other stages, for their Cultivators' techniques are extremely powerful!

"Now, all competitors ascend the platform." Taichu Zhenren commanded the Array and then shouted to the crowd.

"Senior Brother Yun Tian, Bai Feng, wish you both good luck, I'm headed there." Ye Tianfan saluted Senior Brother Yun Tian and Bai Feng, then flew to his designated platform.

Senior Brother Yun Tian and Bai Feng exchanged helpless glances before flying to the platforms they were assigned.

Upon reaching the platform, Ye Tianfan looked towards his opponent and cupped his hands in greeting, "Disciple Ye Tianfan of Taichu Sect greets Elder."

Ye Tianfan recognized this person before him as an Elder of some Sect, but he couldn't recall exactly which, although he knew he was an Elder.

The Elder opposite Ye Tianfan also cupped his hands, "Qiankun Sect, Law Enforcement Elder, Ren Tian."

Taichu Zhenren saw everyone in place and ready, and with a wave of his sleeve, he announced loudly, "The competition begins."

Only then could the contest officially begin, as before was merely the preparation phase.

Upon hearing Taichu Zhenren announce the start of the competition, Ye Tianfan did not attack immediately, but only summoned the Fire Lotus Sword, observing the Elder before him.

Seeing Ye Tianfan directly summon the Fire Lotus Sword, Elder Ren Tian showed no response, for by sheer strength, he felt he could crush Ye Tianfan, given his mid-level Baihui Realm, around fifth or sixth tier, while Ye Tianfan was merely in the Thousand Source Realm, a totally different league.

Yet Elder Ren Tian saw Ye Tianfan summoning the Fire Lotus Sword but not rushing to attack him, and admiredly nodded slightly, knowing Ye Tianfan was on guard, not recklessly attacking but searching for opportunity.

"Not bad, not a brutish fellow!" Elder Ren Tian remarked, then with a sword technique in his right hand, drew twelve three-foot yellow flags shining with khaki light, floating around, ready to be planted into the ground at any moment.

"Array Banner?" Seeing the twelve yellow flags, Ye Tianfan felt his heart sink, because his current understanding of Arrays was limited, lacking adequate means to deal with these Arrays!

Ye Tianfan hadn't specifically learned which Sect excelled in what exactly, but had a rough idea, and before him, Elder Ren Tian of the Qiankun Sect, as Ye Tianfan knew, their strength lay not in Arrays, but in Magical Treasures, meaning Qiankun Sect was an Artifact Cultivator sect, similar to Taichu Sect's Taiqi Peak.

"Yes, these are Array Banners, this Array is called the Twelve-tiers Earth Lotus Array, my Lifebound Array, practiced daily without fail, hence you shall fall beneath it. Though it feels bullying, I dislike dragging things out; I prefer swift resolution. Furthermore, here's a tip: never let an Array Master set up the banners completely, for once an Array Master sets up an Array, that's when they are the most frightening. Rise!"

Finishing, Ren Tian pointed a sword finger at Ye Tianfan, rapidly inserting the Array Banners alongside him.

"If you can't hold on, just shout, then I'll stop the Array," Ren Tian stated, clasping his hands and shouted fiercely, "Twelve-tiers Earth Lotus Array."

Ye Tianfan heard Ren Tian shout this phrase, then saw everything drastically change before him, everything vanished, and soon Ye Tianfan found himself in a desert, and in the distance, there were grasslands, Gobi, forests, mountains... and more.

Overall, whatever terrain Ye Tianfan could think of was present here, and upon careful counting, Ye Tianfan discovered a total of twelve terrains!

Below, Taichu Zhenren witnessed this, furrowing his brow, pondering, "Didn't expect Ren Tian to start without giving Ye Tianfan any chance, this is not good. Luckily, Ren Tian won't deploy the Twelve-tiers Earth Lotus Array's killing move, just the Trapping Technique, else Ye Tianfan truly would be defeated!"

This isn't Taichu Zhenren being alarmist, because for those skilled in Arrays, even if his realm was only Wanxuan, facing a Taichu realm individual, as long as given time, sufficient Array Banners, and adequate Spiritual Power, he could slay the Taichu realm person within the Array, of course, the precondition is that the Taichu realm individual doesn't resist!

Ye Tianfan saw he entered a desert pit, though raging winds surrounded him, the sand trapping Ye Tianfan showed no motion, just silently entrapping him!
