Chapter 1291 - 1391: The Dali Sect Elder's Warning

The intense claw wind pinned Ye Tianfan's clothes tightly to his skin, and the Fire Lotus Sword in his hand also trembled slightly due to the claw wind from the nameless elder. Ye Tianfan stared intently at the sharp claws coming closer, and just as they were half a foot away from the Fire Lotus Sword, Ye Tianfan gently stepped to the left of the nameless elder.

Then Ye Tianfan fiercely slashed down with the Fire Lotus Sword in his hand, dodging the claws and aiming at the shoulder of the nameless elder!

However, as the Fire Lotus Sword crashed down, the nameless elder dodged it, achieving nothing. At the instant Ye Tianfan's attack missed, the nameless elder's left hand suddenly curved and fiercely clawed in Ye Tianfan's direction.

The seemingly casual claw swipe was extremely precise, leaving several bloody marks on Ye Tianfan's elbow.

With his elbow injured, Ye Tianfan's entire offensive was momentarily stalled. The nameless elder seized this pause, his right hand formed into a fist, and with a tremor in his arm, he launched a cold, sharp gust towards Ye Tianfan's chest.

Feeling the heavy punch wind, Ye Tianfan immediately reacted. His left hand flashed to block in front of him, while his right hand infused a large amount of spiritual power into the Fire Lotus Sword, fiercely chopping towards the nameless elder's fist.

"Bang!"

The fist and sword collided fiercely, a low explosion sound erupted at the point of contact, creating ripples that caused space to waver. After the collision, they swiftly expanded in all directions.

"Thud, thud..."

Ye Tianfan's body shuddered violently, his steps rapidly retreating. With each step backward, cracks appeared on the extremely hard floor. After several steps, Ye Tianfan felt a sweetness in his throat, but quickly suppressed it!

Taking a deep breath of the slightly cool air, Ye Tianfan's gaze remained fixed on the nameless elder opposite him. He understood clearly that the gap between him and this elder was not just in strength but also in combat experience. He also confirmed that the nameless elder in front of him was indeed an elder from the Dali Sect. However, what puzzled Ye Tianfan was why this elder didn't carry a large pillar.

After all, the magical treasure of the Dali Sect, the large pillar, was standard, yet the elder in front of him carried no magical treasure, fighting entirely with his fists!

In truth, Ye Tianfan knew that dealing with someone from the Dali Sect should be approached with long-range immortal techniques, continuously kiting them. Still, he felt troubled because this was a competition, not a life-and-death battle; competitions were for self-improvement. If he wasn't going to improve, there was no point in the match.

After all, Ye Tianfan noticed that the nameless Dali Sect elder was not causing trouble but rather helping him gain experience. From the previous battle, Ye Tianfan could clearly feel that some of the techniques were harsh, but not excessively so, and neither too soft.

Ye Tianfan wondered if the battle would be over if he didn't continue?

Seeing the expression of the nameless Dali Sect elder, Ye Tianfan smiled bitterly, dismissing the thought of taking a shortcut. After all, the elder was helping him gain experience, which was a kindness, and thinking of slacking off was indeed wrong. So Ye Tianfan firmly grasped the Fire Lotus Sword, fixing his gaze on the nameless Dali Sect elder opposite him.

Ye Tianfan decided to get serious. Since the nameless Dali Sect elder intended to help him, he would maximize the benefit. Moments later, Ye Tianfan's body leaned forward slightly, then his foot suddenly pushed off the ground. Ye Tianfan charged towards the nameless elder, the Fire Lotus Sword carrying a sharp wind-breaking sound, bursting through the space towards the elder.

Ye Tianfan's sudden attack made a flash of surprise appear in the nameless Dali Sect elder's eyes. Why had Ye Tianfan, who was just reluctant to fight, suddenly become serious? However, the elder's expression remained mostly unchanged. His palms curved into claws, and with a kick of his leg, he advanced rather than retreating, charging directly at Ye Tianfan.

The nameless elder's right hand clenched into a fist, wrapped in a light golden spiritual power, and he struck fiercely at the Fire Lotus Sword in Ye Tianfan's hand!

Although the nameless elder knocked the Fire Lotus Sword aside with his fist, Ye Tianfan managed to strike the elder's chest with his other free hand, making the elder stagger back several steps. Ye Tianfan saw that with nine-tenths of his strength, he only managed to push the elder back a few steps, with nothing else coming of it. The elder's strength was truly formidable to him.

"Thinking you can defeat me with this is far from enough, but I do find your close-combat techniques quite forward-thinking," said the nameless Dali Sect elder to Ye Tianfan!

"I know relying solely on explosive power in battle is not enough. Although many fire-based immortal techniques rely on bursts, constant bursts result in two possible outcomes!" the nameless elder continued!

"Two outcomes? What are they?" Ye Tianfan curiously asked!

"These two outcomes: one is that your meridians, due to the bursts, get slightly damaged each time and then recover, which increases their resilience. This is a positive result. The other outcome is that your meridians get severely damaged each time and, without fully recovering, get damaged again, making them increasingly fragile, leading to your meridians being unable to bear the flow of spiritual power, thus reducing the power of your future immortal techniques and moves. This is a negative result!" the nameless elder explained to Ye Tianfan!

"What?" Ye Tianfan was shocked to hear this, but he immediately checked his meridians and found they hadn't become more fragile; instead, they had become more resilient!

After checking, Ye Tianfan let out a sigh of relief. Seeing Ye Tianfan's expression, the nameless elder remarked, "It seems your result is a positive one!"
