Chapter 333: Chapter 330: I Just Casually Hit Her a Few Times
Bai Yin froze, subconsciously withdrawing her Secret Technique as she looked in confusion toward the source of the voice.
When she saw it was Feng Hao, an undeniable flash of joy lit up her eyes. But as she watched him rush toward the ice sculpture, her expression grew puzzled, then complicated.
Meanwhile, the moment Feng Hao appeared, the crowd of onlookers erupted. The senior students, in particular, looked as if they had seen a ghost and desperately wanted to flee the scene.
Among the new students of the Strength Department, Zhang Meng and his cronies were present. The moment they saw Feng Hao, they swarmed him, a blubbering mess. Zhang Meng led the charge, wailing, "We’re sorry, Boss! We did our best."
"I know, I know," Feng Hao said irritably, looking at Zhang Meng’s bruised and swollen face.
After shooing the five of them away, Feng Hao’s expression instantly darkened. He strode slowly to the ice sculpture’s side and shot a cold glare at Bai Yin.
Bai Yin’s heart was a tangle of emotions. Her delicate brows furrowed. "What are you doing here?"
"This girl is my wife. What do you think I’m doing here?" Feng Hao grunted. "And I have to say, you’ve really got some nerve. A student who’s about to graduate picking on a freshman. Don’t you find that disgraceful?"
"I was picking on her?" Bai Yin’s expression stiffened, a look of incredulous exasperation on her face. "Wait, what did you just call her?"
"My wife," Feng Hao said, his lip curling. "Why? You have a problem with that?"
At his words, Bai Yin’s face went deathly pale. She suppressed the turmoil in her heart and forced a smile. "I wasn’t picking on her. On the contrary, she was the one who attacked and injured someone first. I simply couldn’t stand by and watch, so I stepped in to teach her a lesson."
"You’ve got to be kidding me!" Feng Hao rolled his eyes. "My girl is as good as gold. There’s no way she’d attack someone. Besides, you don’t look hurt to me."
"Of course I’m not the one who’s hurt. Xiaoyu is." Bai Yin turned and pointed behind her.
Feng Hao instinctively glanced behind her and was met with a sight that left him completely dumbfounded. Hiding behind Bai Yin was a pretty girl whose face was so bruised and swollen it looked like a pig’s head. Her clothes and accessories, however, seemed familiar.
"Don’t try to fool me. How could that pig-head be Xie Xiaoyu? I’ve seen her plenty of times," Feng Hao said, his face a mask of disbelief.
Bai Yin ignored him, gritting her teeth. "You see for yourself. Xiaoyu was beaten to a pulp. How could I not step in?"
"Ahem." Feng Hao coughed dryly, his expression awkward. "Even if that’s the case, it wasn’t your place to step in, was it?"
"Xiaoyu is my junior sister. Why shouldn’t I?" Bai Yin retorted with a sneer.
"Junior sister?" Feng Hao froze, the corner of his mouth twitching. "Since when?"
"A week ago," Bai Yin replied coldly.
"Alright, if that’s really true, then my girl was in the wrong. But before we get to that, I need to confirm it." Feng Hao nodded in resignation, then turned to the ice sculpture beside him and snapped, "What are you spacing out for? Get out here!"
Hearing Feng Hao’s call, Xi Yueyao finally emerged from the ice sculpture, her eyes darting about guiltily.
"So, what happened?" Feng Hao asked, thoroughly exasperated.
Xi Yueyao lowered her head, fiddling with the hem of her clothes as she mumbled, "I... I just punched her a few times, that’s all. Who knew she couldn’t take a hit? Plus, she was being really foul-mouthed, so I... lost my temper and beat her up some more."
"..." Feng Hao’s eyes rolled back in their sockets; he nearly fainted from pure rage. "I’ll deal with you later!"
With that, Feng Hao could only turn to Bai Yin and Xie Xiaoyu with an apologetic smile. "Ahem, my apologies. It’s my fault for not keeping her in line. Little Sister Yu, please don’t be angry. I have some top-grade Healing Medicine here. Quick, take it."
But Xie Xiaoyu only stared at him warily, hesitating to approach. "You’re on that wench’s side! I don’t want anything from you! Just wait till my big brother gets back, I’ll have him beat you all to a pulp!"
"Now, now, don’t say that. Your brother and I are good friends, there’s no way we’d fight. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to give her a harsh lesson when we get back," Feng Hao said, exasperated. "Come on, take the medicine first."
"I won’t! I’m telling you, I won’t! I’ll have my big brother beat you all into pig-heads!" Xie Xiaoyu mumbled, her words slurred through tear-filled eyes.
Fortunately, Bai Yin stepped in. "Xiaoyu, be a good girl. Take the medicine first. We can worry about revenge later."
"But..." Xie Xiaoyu hesitated.
"Don’t be afraid. Your senior sister is here. He won’t dare bully you," Bai Yin soothed her gently.
Only then did Xie Xiaoyu relax. She cautiously accepted the medicine and swallowed it. Then, to the astonishment of the crowd, her injuries began to heal at a rate visible to the naked eye. Within a few breaths, she was back to her former cute and charming self.
"Whoa! This medicine is amazing! Do you have any more? Give me a few more," Xie Xiaoyu demanded with a sniffle.
"You wench! Give you an inch and you’ll take a mile, is that it?" Xi Yueyao was having none of it. She darted to Feng Hao’s side and snapped furiously.
It was like adding fuel to a fire. The moment Xie Xiaoyu heard that, she exploded. "You wench, who are you saying is taking a mile? Don’t think you’re so great just because you got a full set of Taixu Equipment! Once this young lady breaks through to Grade Five, I’m going to rip that mouth of yours to shreds!"
"Oh? Looking for another beating, are you?" Xi Yueyao furiously pulled out her long whip and pointed it at Xie Xiaoyu.
Xie Xiaoyu instantly lost her nerve and scrambled to hide behind Bai Yin. "Senior Sister, quick, help me beat her up!" she said through gritted teeth. "And her little boyfriend, too!"
She couldn’t help it; the memory of the thrashing she’d just received from Xi Yueyao was still vivid in her mind.
To be fair, Xie Xiaoyu felt deeply wronged. Xi Yueyao hadn’t been a match for her before, but now, after just half a month, she found she couldn’t win. Not only could she not win, but she was also utterly unable to fight back.
After all, she also had a full set of Taixu Equipment, was a higher level than Xi Yueyao, and had even been accepted as a disciple by Elder Yun. Logically speaking, she should have been the stronger of the two.
But for some unknown reason, Xi Yueyao was like a completely different person, crushing her the moment their fight began.
Xie Xiaoyu simply couldn’t understand it.
Seeing the two girls at each other’s throats again, Feng Hao felt a headache coming on. He could only offer Bai Yin a wry smile. "These two are always like this whenever they meet. I should probably take Yaoyao and get going."
"Right," Bai Yin said, her eyes filled with a complicated mix of emotions. "I should take Xiaoyu to see our master, too."
"Alright then. See you around." Feng Hao wasted no more words. He hoisted Xi Yueyao over his shoulder, ignoring her struggles and flailing limbs.
Seeing Feng Hao about to leave, the crowd of onlookers consciously parted to form a path.
Zhang Meng and his two friends shouted for the "army" from the Strength Department to disperse before hurriedly chasing after Feng Hao.
"Boss! Boss, wait for us!" Zhang Meng yelled, his fleshy frame jiggling as he ran.
Feng Hao shot the three of them an irritated glare and huffed, "You have the nerve to call me Boss? All you do is cause trouble!"
"We’re being framed, Boss! It wasn’t our choice! The big boss lady forced us to come!" Zhang Meng wailed pitifully.
Li Mufeng and Tu Xiaoshan cried in agreement.
Hearing this, Xi Yueyao, still slung over Feng Hao’s shoulder, gritted her teeth and snarled, "Fatty, you got a death wish?"
"Okay, fine! We were the ones who egged the boss lady on!" Zhang Meng admitted with a bitter smile, forced to take the blame.
"That’s more like it!" Xi Yueyao nodded, satisfied.
Feng Hao snorted, then swung his hand and gave Xi Yueyao a firm smack on the rear. "The hell it is," he said irritably. "Don’t think I don’t see right through you. I’ll deal with you properly when we get back!"
"The Boss is brilliant!" the three of them shouted in unison, moved to tears of gratitude.
