The Strongest Talent Tree
Chapter 339 - 336: Watching Flicks and Having a Blast Together
Chapter 339: Chapter 336: Watching Flicks and Having a Blast Together
Having dealt with Three-second Fire, Feng Hao piloted the Mansa out of the wasteland. He had no choice; the place was just too hot.
But after returning to the sea of consciousness, Three-second Fire showed no intention of settling down. It just kept circling the Genetic Tree, pestering Feng Hao with questions. "Say, what’s the deal with that big shot in your sea of consciousness?"
"I’m not sure either. Supposedly some ancestor with a Dao lineage," Feng Hao replied casually.
"My goodness, he even forged a Dao lineage. No wonder he was so powerful," Three-second Fire exclaimed in shock.
Feng Hao asked curiously, "What do you mean? Are Dao lineages that amazing?"
"Of course! Only those who have comprehended the Origin Law to an extremely high degree can forge a Dao lineage. Your ancestor must have been a figure who could command the wind and rain in his lifetime. But what I don’t get is, how could such a powerful figure have a disgraceful descendant like you?" Three-second Fire said, pondering as if furrowing its brow.
"Would it kill you to not put me down?" Feng Hao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "By the way, you seem to know a lot, don’t you?"
Three-second Fire stated proudly, "When you’ve lived as long as I have, you naturally learn a thing or two."
"Fair point." Feng Hao nodded in realization and continued piloting the Mansa forward. He then asked curiously, "What’s the deal with this wasteland? I’ve already subdued you, so why is it still so hot?"
"It never had anything to do with me in the first place," Three-second Fire retorted. "This place is very close to the planet’s core. It’s normal for the temperature to be high."
"Alright, I thought you were the one who heated this place up," Feng Hao said with a helpless laugh.
"I’m not that powerful."
Feng Hao smiled faintly and didn’t press the matter. After flying for over four hours, he finally left the wasteland behind.
He parked the Mansa in a hidden jungle, had a simple meal of dry rations, and began to wait patiently for Solos to "come online."
But Three-second Fire couldn’t sit still and kept asking a bunch of pointless questions. "So, how’s life on the outside for you?"
"It’s alright. Got a house, a ride, a wife... life is good," Feng Hao replied offhandedly.
"What the hell? You’re my, Three-second Fire’s, master! Can’t you have a little more ambition?" Three-second Fire said, exasperated.
"What else is there? Conquer the universe?" Feng Hao joked.
But Three-second Fire looked thoughtful and said in all seriousness, "Hmm, that’s not a bad idea. Worthy of praise."
"Fine, whatever makes you happy." Feng Hao shook his head, at a loss for words. He really couldn’t fathom the creature’s thought process. It was just a wisp of fire, yet its ambition was anything but small.
"Be serious! I’m thinking of your best interests, you know?" Three-second Fire said earnestly. "With my help, you’ll definitely be much stronger than the average person. If I can evolve to a higher stage, you’ll get even stronger. Defeating opponents above your level will be as easy as eating and drinking."
"In short, you need to have confidence in yourself. We’re in the same boat now. Only when you’re a badass can I be a badass too."
Feng Hao grinned. "Heh, I can already take on opponents above my level."
"Yeah, right. Keep dreaming!" Three-second Fire said scornfully. "Without my help, you think you can fight above your level with that garbage aptitude of yours? You should be glad others don’t fight *you* from a level above."
"Who says my aptitude is bad?" Feng Hao asked with a smile.
"Get a clue, please. I’m a Secret Realm Spiritual Object. I can see through your Genetic Tree with a single glance. And while your Genetic Tree’s growth looks decent, it can’t hide its trashy essence," Three-second Fire sneered.
"Is that so? Why don’t you take a closer look?"
Three-second Fire was taken aback. "What? You think this fire spirit could possibly be mistaken?" it said oddly.
"You’ll know if you take a closer look," Feng Hao said with a faint smile, deciding to ignore the annoying creature.
"Hmph, I don’t believe you!" Three-second Fire got fired up too. It floated over to the Genetic Tree and began to inspect it carefully. "Ten root systems and seven of them have already bottomed out. If this isn’t garbage, what is?"
"Look up," Feng Hao said irritably.
At his words, Three-second Fire skeptically began to look upward. When he saw the four Talent Branches, he finally noticed something was off. "Huh? Why are your Talent Branches a little longer than other people’s?"
Puzzled, Three-second Fire began to study them seriously.
Before long, he let out a cry of sheer shock, his flame-like Spirit Body trembling slightly.
"Holy shit! Two talents on one branch! How the hell did you do that?" Three-second Fire asked in disbelief.
"Heh, still think I was just bragging now?" Feng Hao chuckled.
It took Three-second Fire a long moment to recover, his voice stuttering, "I can’t believe I, Three-second Fire, actually misjudged something... S-So, how did you do it?"
"Bloodline talent," Feng Hao replied with just two words.
"Hiss... What kind of bloodline is that powerful?"
"Why ask so many questions? You just need to know that you won’t regret following me," Feng Hao said with a smirk. "Enough talk. My guy’s online."
With that, he ignored Three-second Fire, extended his Divine Sense into the Listening Stone, and connected to Solos’s Divine Sense message. "How did it go?"
"Got lucky. Found a few epic-grade hard drives. They’ve got everything you could ever want," Solos said meaningfully.
"Hahaha, what are you waiting for? Stream it over to me, the usual way. I just got a big batch of jade slips and books over here, so I can send them your way at the same time," Feng Hao said excitedly.
But Solos suddenly hesitated, his expression odd. "I also got a pretty good computer, so transmitting it won’t be a problem... but isn’t it a little, you know, weird for two grown men to watch A-movies together?"
"Ahem, yeah, it is a bit weird," Feng Hao quickly realized, his expression stiffening. "But it can’t be helped. These are special circumstances. It’s the only way."
"So... I should play it?" Solos asked again, embarrassed.
"Play it, play it! It’s just watching some flicks together, right? Not like it’s our first time doing something like this," Feng Hao said with a dismissive wave. "Hurry up! Let’s us bros watch together and get hyped!"
And so, Solos hesitated no longer. With firm resolve, he opened the file on the computer. Through the Divine Sense image transmission, a series of familiar yet stimulating scenes appeared before Feng Hao, and the atmosphere instantly fell silent...
’My god, it’s all top-shelf educational material. The owner of this hard drive was definitely a master connoisseur!’
Feng Hao gulped as he watched, forcing down his inner turmoil as he imprinted the images onto blank Crystal Cards.
One card, two cards, three cards...
One hundred cards, two hundred cards, three hundred cards...
It felt like a long journey. The initial excitement gradually faded into numbness, and then finally, to the verge of nausea.
By the end, all the awkwardness between Feng Hao and Solos had vanished. They were just bored and dozing off.
"Oh, right, I’ve also got some martial arts films here. You need ’em, Mad God?" Solos asked, yawning.
Feng Hao’s eyes lit up, and he nodded eagerly. "Yes! Why wouldn’t I?"
"Alright then, sending them over now." Solos wasted no time, skillfully streaming the new footage.
Just as Feng Hao was seriously re-watching the martial arts films, Three-second Fire suddenly popped up, shouting, "What is this garbage? It’s horrible! Hurry up and switch back to the last show, I wasn’t finished watching!"
"..." Feng Hao was completely floored. "Holy crap, you can actually understand that stuff?"
