Chapter 324 -325: Fifth Brother

He stood there stunned for a long while before slowly raising his head. Looking at Li Yang, he asked, “You… how could you tell?”

“Just by looking!” Li Yang chuckled. “I told you, I’m a doctor. Chinese medicine values diagnosis through observation, listening, questioning, and feeling the pulse. I happen to specialize in observation, so one glance was all I needed to see what’s wrong with you. Understand?”

Scarface was at a loss for words.

‘I get what you’re saying, but… who the fuck can actually do that?’

“So, what you said earlier about the snake gallbladder…”

“I wasn’t lying about a single thing,” Li Yang said earnestly. “That giant snake’s gallbladder is extremely poisonous. If you consume it, you will die. I’m not kidding. If you trust me, how about this? I’ll go treat your big brother, and in return… please, let the snake go.”

Scarface hesitated.

“So, what do you say?” Li Yang asked again. “At the very least, I seem more reliable than some wandering charlatan, don’t I? If you don’t believe me, you can take me to your big brother. Let him make the final decision.”

Scarface mulled it over for another moment before finally speaking. “Alright… I can take you to my big brother. But whether or not you treat him is ultimately his decision.”

“Of course!” Li Yang breathed a sigh of relief. “I would never force treatment on anyone. A person’s health is their own business.”

Scarface nodded. “But let me warn you, don’t try anything funny. If we find out you have other intentions… it won’t end well for you.”

Li Yang chuckled. “Alright, I get it.”

And just like that, they had an agreement.

But just then, Scarface’s phone rang. A frantic voice yelled from the other end, “We’ve found the giant snake! It’s rushing toward your village right now! Quick, you guys block its path! We can kill it!”

Li Yang overheard, and his face fell. “You have more than one team?”

Scarface froze. “You… Don’t kill it! I’ve found a Divine Doctor here. He says the snake’s gallbladder is poisonous!”

“What the hell are you talking about? Get over here and help us kill it!” the man on the other end swore.

Li Yang had already bolted.

He could hear the snake’s HISSING.

The snake was already enraged. If it reached the village, it would likely kill on sight.

The giant snake was being pursued by a dozen or so burly men, several of whom were armed with guns.

As for the villagers, they seemed to have heard the gunshots. Many were looking toward the mountain behind the village, murmuring amongst themselves. “What’s going on? Was that a gunshot?”

“Yeah, it’s strange. I wonder what happened.”

They all stood there, looking on.

Li Yang sprinted all the way to the mountain, where he saw the giant snake speeding along.

“Come here!” Li Yang called out in a low voice to the snake.

The giant snake was overjoyed to see Li Yang and quickly slithered before him.

Behind it, the burly men also rushed over. They all froze when they saw Li Yang.

“Go hide over there for a moment,” Li Yang said to the snake. “I’ll try to reason with them. If it doesn’t work, just save yourself and escape.”

The snake was bristling with fury, on the verge of a rampage.

Li Yang patted it. “A rampage won’t do you any good. These men have guns. Take a few more bullets, and you’re dead.”

Li Yang felt a bit helpless. ‘Do you think you’re invincible?’

The giant snake reluctantly hid off to the side, looking down on the men from its higher vantage point.

The men were stunned to see Li Yang actually speaking to the giant snake. They stared at him, their expressions turning hostile.

“Gentlemen…” Li Yang took a step forward and said earnestly, “It’s not easy for a snake this large to have survived so long. There’s no telling how many times it has escaped death in these mountains. If that’s the case, then Heaven must want it to live. I’m asking you to please show some mercy and let it go.”

“Let it go?” One of the men reacted as if he’d just heard the funniest joke. “Did I hear you correctly? You’re telling us to let it go?”

“That’s right!” Li Yang nodded earnestly. “Do it as a favor to me.”

“HA HA…” The men already considered the snake as good as theirs. No longer in a hurry, they were now in the mood to toy with Li Yang.

“Did I hear that right?” a burly man of about thirty bellowed with laughter, turning to the men behind him. “He said to do him a favor! Tell me, who is this guy that I, Fifth Master, should give him face?”

His lackeys roared with laughter, their eyes full of scorn for Li Yang.

Li Yang remained unhurried, simply standing his ground. “That’s right. I’m asking you to do me this favor.”

“Face? What fucking face do you have!” Fifth Master’s expression suddenly turned grim. “Now get the hell out of the way, or I’ll kill you too.”

Just then, Scarface arrived. “Fifth Brother,” he said, “this is the Divine Doctor I was talking about. He agreed to take a look at our big brother’s poison. How about… we spare the snake for now? If he’s no good, we can always come back to kill it for the gallbladder.”

“Scarface, are you out of your goddamn mind?” Fifth Brother said, furious. “You’re actually falling for a wandering quack like him?”
