The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 361 - 362: Confidence
Chapter 361: Chapter 362: Confidence
Li Yang went to the small shop and asked Xia Lian for a bottle of water.
"Xiaoyang, you’re really amazing..." Xia Lian said, surprised. "I can’t believe our village is actually going to be on TV. I never would have imagined it."
There were quite a few other people in the small shop.
With its air conditioning, it had quickly replaced the small clinic as the villagers’ favorite spot to cool off in the evenings.
"What’s so amazing about me?" Li Yang said with a laugh. "All I did was provide them with a venue, and they came. So, how’s business at the shop these days? Doing all right?"
"Of course it is!" Xia Lian said with a wide smile. "Business is fantastic now. We were swamped all weekend, non-stop. People were just pouring in and out."
"That’s good!" Li Yang nodded.
"Xiaoyang, do you think our village will still have so many people coming in the future?" a villager asked.
"Of course. Why wouldn’t there be?" Li Yang said earnestly. "They’re filming two episodes for this festival. They’ll be back again next week. So what do you think? You think people will come?"
"Then we can sell stuff!" a villager exclaimed, slapping his thigh. "I could sell some food! Make some snacks! Do you think that would work?"
"You can give it a try," Li Yang said with a smile. "Whether or not it works will depend on how you manage your business."
"That’s right! I could sell other things, too!"
...
With the influx of people, the villagers’ minds started buzzing with ideas. They weren’t fools; everyone could see the business opportunities.
"Xiaoyang, you have no idea! The other day, Uncle Pai had several people staying at his house. He charged a hundred yuan per person per day, room and board included. He made a good six or seven hundred yuan in just two days!"
"Exactly! I was thinking I should fix up my old house, too. A fresh coat of paint, pave the floor... It wouldn’t even cost that much."
"If people really start staying in our homes every day, we could make some real money!"
"You said it!"
...
Li Yang couldn’t help but feel happy as he listened. ’They’re figuring these things out on their own, so I don’t have to worry about it. That’s great.’
Once the weekend was over, the village wasn’t quite as bustling. Still, a few dozen people could be seen wandering around each day.
This made Li Yang realize that the village truly had potential.
With that thought, he immediately headed up the mountain to see what areas could be developed and whether he could create a proper tourist trail.
Once in the mountains, he followed a stream upward.
Bishui Lake was actually fed by many different streams.
Even Cold Water Lake had a stream that flowed into Bishui Lake, so its water supply was plentiful.
Li Yang followed one of the streams upward. He found that its flow was strong and the water was abundant. It was also especially cool and refreshing in the summer heat.
As Li Yang watched it, he suddenly froze.
’This... with so much water, if it’s possible... we could probably do rafting here!’
At this thought, he suddenly looked upstream.
’It flows down from up there all the way to here, and there’s even a bit of a drop in elevation... Isn’t this perfect for rafting?’
Li Yang suddenly slapped his thigh and laughed. ’That’s it! It’s perfect for rafting!’
After a moment’s thought, he excitedly called Liuwan. "Manager Liu, do you have time to come over? Right now, immediately!"
It didn’t take long for Liuwan to arrive in the village. Li Yang personally met her and brought her to the spot.
"I heard you’re doing great things with tourism here. A TV station came to film a show, right?" Liuwan asked with a smile.
"It’s going okay," Li Yang laughed. "We’re starting to get some visitors, so it’s not bad... Say, have you ever worked on a rafting project?"
Liuwan paused for a moment. "We have people on our team with that kind of experience. You want to set up a rafting course?"
"Come take a look at this stream!" Li Yang said, clapping his hands. "Can we set up a rafting course here?"
Liuwan studied the mountain stream for a moment before replying, "It’s possible, yes. But are you sure you want to do this?"
"We have to do it!" Li Yang said earnestly. "Help me get a design drawn up quickly. Try to get this route finished for me within a month. Our village is starting to get tourists now, but I feel like it’s all too low-key. If we can get this stream project up and running, our tourist area will finally have a proper attraction. Don’t you agree?"
Liuwan nodded. "All right, I understand. Don’t you worry, I’ll get it done for you quickly. But once it’s finished, you’ll need to either install a cableway or build a road to the top. You’d better think that through. It’s going to cost a lot of money!"
"It’s fine!" Li Yang said with a smile. "If it’s a necessary expense, we’ll spend it. No problem!"
"You got it!"
After seeing Liuwan off, Li Yang returned to the village.
’Liuwan really works fast.’ The very next day, she was back with engineers to conduct a site survey.
Meanwhile, at Ruizhou TV Station, the crew was rushing through post-production.
Director Song was personally overseeing the process.
They were rushing to get it ready for a Saturday broadcast—and in a prime-time slot, no less.
The city’s local TV station had viewership ratings that were already abysmally low—lower than she dared to imagine.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have staked everything on such a huge project.
’Thankfully, Li Yang’s help had solved a lot of their problems.’
