The flagship’s command chamber had barely settled into a tense silence when Rhaevia suddenly stiffened in place. Her right hand flew instinctively to her sternum as her posture locked up.

A strange, crushing pressure had begun building deep inside her mental core, expanding at a terrifying speed.

It was not a sensation of physical pain. It was something far more violent and ancient, tearing at the edges of her consciousness. Deep within her soul, a dormant force was forcibly tearing itself free from its long-standing confinement.

Major General Raevor Veyr turned sharply, his analytical gaze locking onto her trembling frame.

"Rhaevia?" he called out, his icy tone instantly vanishing.

Rhaevia parted her lips, attempting to answer his call, but the microsecond her mouth opened, a powerful wave of invisible mental energy erupted violently from her body. The raw shockwave ripped through the sterile atmosphere of the chamber, rattling the floor plates.

The high-grade overhead lighting across the medical bay flickered erratically before plunging the room into twilight. Every primary holographic display simultaneously distorted into jagged patterns of static visual noise.

A loud electronic buzz tore through the secondary control panels as circuit boards shorted under the strain.

A violent, high-density pulse of energy swept outward through the entire flagship, pushing atmospheric pressure to critical levels. Raevor’s dark pupils contracted sharply as his boots scraped backward across the deck.

"Your mental energy!" he barked, his voice laced with rare shock.

Rhaevia clenched her teeth so tightly her jaw throbbed, her knuckles turning white. She could feel the delicate internal architecture of her mind breaking apart under the onslaught.

The artificial chemical seals that had restrained her original body’s mental pathways for years were collapsing one after another in rapid succession.

The underlying suppression network had already suffered severe damage when she first awakened on Planet V-17. Now, the recent discoveries surrounding Project Genesis had somehow triggered the remaining restraints to shatter completely.

They are breaking, she thought, her internal voice echoing over the chaotic mental noise. One major seal shattered into dust. Then another failed. Then three more collapsed simultaneously.

A terrifying surge of unrefined mental energy flooded through her bloodstream and physical channels.

Rhaevia’s dark hair lifted around her face, floating upward against gravity despite the complete absence of wind inside the chamber. Her dark pupils flashed with an intense blue-white radiance that blinded the optical sensors in the room.

A deep, reverberating vibration ran through the entire hull as the flagship trembled in place. Across the military academy several kilometers away on the surface, hundreds of training students suddenly stopped what they were doing.

Inside the outdoor training arena, a young Sentinel practicing with an energy combat blade staggered backward, dropping his guard.

"What the--?" he gasped, his vision blurring as a sudden migraine slammed into his forehead.

Beside him, another elite student dropped heavily to one knee, clutching his head with both hands.

"My head... it feels like it’s exploding..." he groaned, his breathing ragged.

Dozens of Sentinels across the facility began experiencing the exact same bizarre physical phenomenon.

Their breathing became uneven, their hearts hammering violently against their ribs. Their senses suddenly became hyper-sensitive, amplifying the surrounding sounds and lights to unbearable levels.

Some felt a strange, intoxicating warmth spreading rapidly through their neural pathways. Others experienced a sudden loss of muscle control, instinctively lowering their lethal weapons to the dirt.

"What’s happening?" a cadet yelled into his comm-link, looking around in a panic.

"Is there an unannounced Zerg mental attack hitting the base?" another student shouted, struggling to stand. "Where are the field instructors?"

The academy’s automated emergency defense systems immediately activated, flashing harsh red warnings across every public screen. High-decibel sirens wailed throughout the military district.

[WARNING: UNIDENTIFIED HIGH-DENSITY MENTAL-WAVE DETECTED.]

[SOURCE: UNKNOWN.]

[ALL SENTINEL PERSONNEL, IMMEDIATELY STABILIZE YOUR MENTAL CHANNELS.]

However, the automated warning arrived far too late to mitigate the chaos. The invisible wave of Guide energy had already spread far beyond the campus, saturating the surrounding military district in a matter of seconds.

Inside the flagship’s medical bay, Raevor remained standing through sheer, ruthless willpower. Barely. His heavy military boots scraped backward another few inches across the metal floor as the invisible mental pressure slammed directly against his chest.

His legendary 3S Sentinel instincts screamed frantically inside his mind, reacting to the overwhelming force. Every defensive mechanism inside his battle-tested body was locking onto the exact same realization.

A Guide was causing this. But this was not an ordinary Guide, nor was it even a powerful high-ranking Guide. This was an entity existing far beyond conventional imperial classification metrics.

Rhaevia’s breathing became heavier, her chest heaving as she fought to maintain her grip on her body.

"Raevor..." she whispered, her voice barely carrying over the hum of the collapsing machinery.

"I’m right here," Raevor answered instantly, forcing his legs to move forward against the invisible wall of energy.

He took two deliberate steps toward her, his posture rigid. But before his reaching hand could make contact with her shoulder, another violent pulse exploded outward from her core.

Raevor’s entire body froze instantly, his physical muscles locking up against his will. His pupils contracted into tiny points as his Sentinel pathways opened completely.

For one brief, overwhelming instant, he felt every single raw emotion Rhaevia was currently experiencing inside her soul.

He felt her deep confusion regarding her second life. He felt her cold anger toward the shadowy forces behind Project Genesis. He felt the profound, centuries-old loneliness she carried beneath her unbothered expression.

He felt her fierce, primal desire to survive no matter the cost. And beneath all of those complex feelings, he felt an overwhelming, absolute command echoing from her consciousness.

"Live."

Raevor’s jaw tightened until his muscles throbbed. He understood the terrifying reality of the situation immediately. Her mental energy was not merely increasing in raw volume. It was actively reaching into and influencing every single Sentinel connected to the surrounding neural network.

"Rhaevia, you need to control your breathing," Raevor urged, his deep voice carrying a sharp edge of authority.

"I am trying," she gasped out, her clear voice trembling for the very first time since he had met her. "I can’t... I can’t stop the flow."

The mental pressure continued rising exponentially, expanding outward in sweeping concentric rings. Across the entire academy, hundreds of trained Sentinels suddenly turned deathly pale, dropping their equipment.

Ongoing training exercises ground to a complete halt across all sectors. Medical officers rushed franticly through the crowded corridors, attempting to assist collapsed students.

Instructors attempted to manually isolate the most severely affected cadets, but the phenomenon was not behaving like a conventional mental attack.

There was zero hostile intent embedded within the energy. There was no targeted assault, nor was there any deliberate manipulation of their minds.

The Sentinels were simply responding to her. Their biological forms were instinctively recognizing an absolute authority long before their conscious minds could even process the event.

It was a Guide. A Guide whose mental presence was powerful enough to completely bypass their natural psychological defenses. Inside the academy’s central command room, the automated monitoring systems began filling with bright red emergency alerts.

[MENTAL RESONANCE SPIKE DETECTED.]

[GUIDE SIGNATURE CONFIRMED.]

[CURRENT RANK: 3S.]

The monitoring technicians stared at the floating holographic displays in absolute, horrified silence. Then, a secondary value materialized across the central monitor, replacing the standard rank designation.

The chief technician’s face went completely white.

[OUTPUT EXCEEDS STANDARD 3S PARAMETERS.]

"What does that reading mean?" a junior officer whispered, his voice shaking violently.

The chief technician opened his mouth, but he couldn’t form a single word. He couldn’t answer the question because the numerical metric on the screen was still actively climbing.

Back inside the flagship’s ruined medical bay, Rhaevia slowly opened her eyes. A brilliant, terrifying blue radiance shimmered within her dark pupils, illuminating the dim room.

The physical air immediately around her body seemed to warp and distort under the immense pressure. Her mental energy had completely shattered its previous boundaries, overflowing into the physical space.

The ancient power sealed deep inside her physical frame was no longer merely awakening in small increments. It was fully unfolding.

Raevor stared at her, his breathing heavy as he fought off the overwhelming urge to submit to her mental command. For the first time, he understood the terrifying truth behind her records.

The previous diagnostic tests hadn’t been measuring Rhaevia’s true power at all. They had merely been measuring how effectively her extraordinary power had been artificially suppressed by her captors.

Then, a sudden, absolute silence fell over the military district.

Every single Sentinel within several kilometers stopped moving entirely. One by one, as if controlled by an invisible thread, their heads turned slowly toward the exact same direction in the sky.

They looked toward the high-orbit flagship. They looked toward the medical wing. They looked directly toward Rhaevia.

Hundreds of battle-hardened Sentinels stared into the distance with unconscious, reverent recognition. None of them knew why their bodies were moving on their own. None of them had been ordered to turn by their superiors.

Yet every Sentinel’s biological instincts had already answered the monumental question that their logical minds had not yet understood.

The 3S Guide had fully awakened.
