Chapter 1164: Chapter 1191: It’s None of My Business (4)
Cherry Lewis just couldn’t see the situation clearly yet, that was all.
He wasn’t in a hurry.
Right now Windsor Myres didn’t take that mother of hers seriously at all, Cherry Lewis’s words didn’t carry any weight, Windsor Myres could completely make her own decisions. As long as she was willing to be with him, he would agree to anything, treat her like a treasure.
His looks naturally couldn’t compare to Camden River’s.
His grades couldn’t compare either.
He couldn’t even compare when it came to experience.
But he had time, and not just time—he had patience.
He didn’t need Windsor Myres to change; he was willing to work on changing himself, to adapt to her.
Back when Windsor Myres first flirted with him in the classroom, he’d never even dated before. His family situation was a bit complicated; he used to be the quiet type, normally just liked playing online games. When Windsor Myres took his hand and stroked the back of it, his whole face flushed red beyond belief.
But in these past two-plus years—
He’d learned to smoke and drink, and took the initiative to hang out with the kind of people who knew how to have fun, all just so he could talk to Windsor Myres a bit more.
His skin had gotten a lot thicker.
At first he only dared to occasionally check in on her, show some concern. This time, after Windsor Myres fell out with Camden River, he simply stuck to her side, never leaving. Whenever Windsor Myres walked out the door, he followed; at night he’d walk her back. His sincerity was overflowing.
At first Windsor Myres ignored him, cursing and hitting, kicking and stomping, and he didn’t care.
After a week of that, she got used to it. Once she was drunk, she was even willing to let him support her. That was progress, wasn’t it?
Ali Harris’s lips curved into a faint smile as he looked at her, gentle and obsessed.
Windsor Myres was getting annoyed again.
She had never seen a guy this cheap.
She could hit him and curse him and he still wouldn’t leave. That utterly devoted look he had for her made her sick just looking at it.
What on earth had she done back then to attract him.
Total bad luck!
"So Camden River isn’t right for me but you are? Ha!" Windsor Myres let out a cold laugh, stood up, and directly poured the glass of alcohol in front of her over his head. Squinting, she said, "Stop following me from now on. I feel sick just seeing you, like some damn band-aid that won’t come off."
Her movement was too sudden; Ali Harris was completely stunned.
Alcohol ran from his face down into his clothes. He pressed his lips together and just sat there, not moving.
Windsor Myres shoved him, squeezing past him out of her seat.
She walked out in her high heels.
She swayed as she disappeared from sight, and in an instant Ali Harris was left with nothing but worry again. He got up and chased after her.
Windsor Myres was just stepping down the stairs. He didn’t know if she’d missed a step, but her body suddenly pitched to the side and she fell.
Ali Harris’s expression changed and he hurriedly rushed over.
Windsor Myres had already closed her eyes, lying quietly in his arms.
Ali Harris raised his hand to touch her forehead. Her temperature felt a bit high, and his face changed. He immediately scooped her up in a bridal carry, flagged down a cab by the roadside, and headed straight for the hospital.
It was close to eleven o’clock; of course they could only go through emergency.
He thought for a moment and had the cab driver head straight to the Fourth Hospital.
Half an hour later—
The cab stopped outside the emergency department of the Fourth Hospital.
He paid, carried Windsor Myres out of the car, and went straight into the emergency center.
When the Doctor finished the examination and came out again, his face was green. He glared at him and started scolding: "Look at the time, and you still let her drink? Young people these days, huh, don’t take a child’s safety and health seriously at all, completely insane. Haven’t had enough fun to know to use contraception, is that it?!"
Ali Harris was completely confused, forcing himself to be patient as he said, "What are you talking about?"
"You didn’t notice just now? Your girlfriend’s bleeding!" The middle-aged Doctor frowned. "Get an OB-GYN appointment first thing tomorrow morning. If she’s pregnant, get rid of the baby as soon as possible. She drank that much alcohol—nine times out of ten, if it’s born it’s going to have problems! Seriously, what even is this, such a headache in the middle of the night!"
