Chapter 1640: Chapter 1593: Drunken Confessions

Marcus Quinn’s broad and warm hand covered her small one, turning to wrap her slender waist into his embrace, pressing his forehead against her delicate one, and laughed lowly, “I’ll do my best to give you the best life.”

The man’s breath was steady and long, without any sweet words, and his eyes were filled with undisguised affection.

Lana’s gaze shifted slightly, nodding her head, and accidentally bumped a bit too hard into Marcus’s head, yelping in pain.

Seeing this, Marcus quickly reached out to rub her forehead, sighed helplessly, and moved her to a chair nearby, then kissed the spot where she bumped and said, “Sit still, I’ll make you some fruit tea, then we’ll take a nap.”

“Oh.” Lana saw him treating her like a baby and immediately opened her big, innocent eyes, obediently sitting on the chair watching Marcus bustling in the kitchen.

The man had broad shoulders and a narrow waist, a slender and lean physique, yet his movements were swift. He mixed a cup of fruit tea for both of them and Yeats Howard, then brewed a pot of white peach Dragon Well tea, taking a small tray with a candle, tea set, and room-temperature mandarin fruit tea, and said to Lana, “Let’s go.”

Lana eagerly got up, following behind him, and saw Yeats Howard in the main hall, eating fruit. She immediately called out, “Yeats, there’s fruit tea in the kitchen personally made by Marcus, it’s delicious!”

“Coming!” Yeats was a typical foodie, and upon hearing that it was made by Marcus’s own hands, he beamed and took long strides to the kitchen.

Marcus returned to their bedroom, placed the tray on the long coffee table, lit the candle, and gently simmered the fruit tea, then poured two cups, one for Lana and one for himself. Being someone who only drank tea, Marcus’s taste had changed a lot due to Lana.

Lana changed into loose pajamas and returned, sipping some juice and then some fruit tea; one was the pure, refreshing aroma of mandarin, the other was the fragrance of Dragon Well tea, making her smile contentedly, “Tea can actually taste this good.”

She basically didn’t drink tea, preferring freshly squeezed juice and coffee.

“My grandfather likes tea, I’ve been drinking it since I was young.” Marcus sat cross-legged on the cushion, enjoying the aroma of the tea with his eyes slightly closed, like a well-behaved child.

Lana’s mind shifted, smilingly reaching out to brush his long eyelashes, saying, “Don’t move, there’s an eyelash on your face.”

The man didn’t move, still holding the wooden cup in his hand.

Lana saw his eyes closed, his face angular, jawline firm, nose high and straight, eyelashes long and curled. She played with them for a while, then went to touch his eyebrows, feeling the scar, thinking to herself, this scar wasn’t very deep; it would be nice if it could be removed.

Lana didn’t speak, and the man didn’t open his eyes either, feeling her soft, delicate hand stroking around his face. His breaths were somewhat heavy, the warmth of the cup in his hand slowly seeping into his palm, even heating up his heart.

“Is it done?” The man held his breath and asked in a deep, hoarse voice.

“All done.” Lana hurriedly sat up straight, wanting to pull out an eyelash but was worried it would hurt him, stuck her tongue out and laughed, “After finishing the tea, let’s take a nap.”

Marcus’s gaze was as deep as ink, hoarsely replying, “Mm.”

Lana felt a bit sleepy after a cup of Dragon Well tea. However, she didn’t want to sleep, but Marcus saw her being unbearably drowsy, so he carried her to bed, tucking her limbs under the blanket, speaking in a low voice, “Sleep, I’ll guard here.”

Lana nodded, holding onto his hand and not letting go.

Marcus waited for her to fall asleep before leaving the bedroom, first calling back to the Holiday Village to inquire about the recent situation. After Water Uncle assured him everything was well, he hung up the phone, seeing Yeats lounging on the recliner in the courtyard, with a pile of food at his feet, raising an eyebrow.

“Finally willing to come out?” Yeats shook his leg, pulling over a nearby chair, gesturing for him to sit down and enjoy the sun.

Marcus, having a bit of an OCD, silently cleaned up Yeats’s small pile of trash, placing the food on a small table neatly before sitting down himself.

Yeats: “…”

“Can you take me and Lana to Lana Shaw and Caspian Yarn’s engagement party?” Marcus asked casually, bending a long leg.

“Of course. Following me, there’s no place you can’t go!” Yeats got excited, eyes sparkling as he asked gossipingly, “Spill it, what grudge do you have with the Yarn Family’s kid? This isn’t like you, suddenly wanting to attend someone else’s engagement party?”

“Caspian Yarn and Lana had a previous engagement.” The man stated solemnly, deliberately enunciating each word.
