Chapter 1646: Reunion with an Old Flame
Chapter 1646: Chapter 1595: Reunion with an Old Flame
As soon as Elowen Duncan rushed out, some people at the Garden Castle entrance stopped to watch and whispered among themselves.
Although these people didn’t know Marcus Quinn and Amara, everyone knew the Demon King Hun of the Howard Family, Yeats Howard. Seeing the Duncan Family’s members embarrass the Howard Family on the spot, they glanced at the Duncan family’s youngest daughter and silently commended her courage with a smile.
Marcus Quinn frowned slightly upon seeing Elowen Duncan, recognizing her as his half-sister, but he said nothing. The man’s temperament was calm, and he wouldn’t engage in public quarrels.
Marcus remained silent, but Yeats Howard sneered, stopped, and looked at the Duncan family’s youngest daughter, coldly saying, “Who the hell are you? What about my Howard Family? Do you think someone like you can just climb up to us?”
The tone was extremely arrogant.
Elowen Duncan was immediately infuriated, her nose almost bent from anger. Her fiancé, upon seeing Yeats Howard’s outburst, changed his expression and tugged at Elowen, whispering, “Elowen, let’s talk about this at home.”
“Don’t pull me.” Elowen shrugged her fiancé’s hand off, thinking of Marcus’s courtyard, her jealousy flared, and she spoke to Marcus with sarcasm, “Marcus, you only know how to hide behind Yeats Howard. You’ve been gone from home for years; my brother and I took care of Dad and searched for you everywhere. In the end, you clung to the Howard Family and forgot your relatives; you’re an unworthy son.”
Yeats Howard was immediately furious, ready to roll up his sleeves, but was held back by Marcus, whose expression turned cold. After all, the issue with the Duncan family was a private matter, not one to make known to everyone.
Amara, hearing her scold Marcus, guessed her identity. Seeing that she was a woman, whether it was Yeats or Marcus, if they really argued with her, it would be bullying. So Amara stepped forward with a sweet smile and said, “Miss Duncan, Marcus sees you as a sister, so he doesn’t want to argue with you. Are you planning to solve family matters at the Shaw Family’s engagement party?”
After all, it’s the Duncan family’s private affair. If it blows up and ruins the Shaw Family’s engagement party, it would be disrespectful to them.
Elowen Duncan had noticed Amara for a long time. Seeing her appear with Marcus, the five-carat ring on her hand dazzling to the point of pain. Seeing her sweet appearance and the stunning dress, her complexion changed, and she coldly said, “Who are you? I’m talking to my brother; why are you interrupting? Do you know manners?”
“Amara is my wife.” Marcus gripped Amara’s hand and said coldly.
“Miss Duncan’s manners are indeed impressive, scolding her brother at someone else’s engagement party.” Amara sweetly mocked, drawing a round of laughter.
Elowen’s face turned ashen, and she harshly said, “Marcus, Dad is here today; let’s see how Dad deals with you.”
“Miss Duncan.” Amara stepped forward with a cold smile and said, “It seems the zipper on your skirt is broken.”
Saying this, she casually reached out and touched Elowen’s skirt zipper. Elowen instantly wrapped her arms around her chest and, clutching her skirt, screamed in panic.
Amara blinked her innocent big eyes, shrugged, then cheerfully turned to hold Marcus’s arm, sweetly saying, “Let’s go inside.”
Marcus nodded gently, his gaze softened.
Yeats Howard: “!!!”
Elowen Duncan screamed, cursed her fiancé to take his jacket off, pale-faced as she ran to a car, completely forgetting about teaching Marcus a lesson.
Yeats Howard looked dumbfounded, gave Amara a thumbs-up. Despite being rough, he didn’t bully women. When Elowen Duncan threw a tantrum slandering Marcus, he really felt uncomfortable stepping in to deal with her. As for Marcus, it was even less necessary to mention—he’s the epitome of a gentleman; despite being cursed like that, he only showed a cold face.
“To deal with unreasonable women, you mustn’t reason with them.” Amara laughed brightly, after all, she’d mingled in the Seacoast high-class social circle; she had some tactics to handle difficult women.
Daring to scold Marcus, this man from the day he met her would never let her starve, even if he was broke, treating her like a treasure. When Elowen threw a tantrum in front of her, she made sure it looked bad for her!
“Sister-in-law, you’ve opened my eyes; how did you do that? That’s freaking amazing.” Yeats Howard exclaimed, watching Elowen clutching her clothes and wrapping herself in a suit jacket, looking like she’d seen a ghost and ran off crying, he spat harshly, venting his dissatisfaction.
A crazy woman, must be sick, Marcus didn’t go looking for trouble with the Duncan family, yet they played the victim and tarnished his reputation! What kind of people are these?
