"Wow, this is incredible!"
Gu Su stared at the system panel that popped up before him, reading every single word of the Modified Mechanical Grinding Disc’s Attributes. An irrepressible look of delight flashed across his face, and he couldn’t help but exclaim in a low voice, his tone filled with awe and satisfaction.
The power of a Blue Quality item truly lived up to its reputation. Its effects were immediate, far exceeding his expectations.
This single Modified Grinding Disc served three wondrous purposes. It could not only allow his Undead to quickly increase their Levels but also temporarily strengthen their Attributes. It could even directly handle the quality breakthroughs for his Undead Team. This was practically a divine artifact tailor-made for his forces.
After all, Quality was the most critical factor in being level-capped.
White Quality units could only reach a maximum of Level 10.
Back at the Deceitful Manor, that black Deceiver had swallowed his pride and pleaded desperately, all to trade for the two Green Quality Shige Rabbit Skins Gu Su held. He had done it just so two of his companions could break their level limit, and his posture had been both humble and urgent.
But now, all he had to do was have his Undead eat the ingredients processed by the Grinding Disc, and they would have a fifty percent chance to break through to Green Quality, plus a fifteen percent chance to shatter the bottleneck to Blue Quality. The difference was like night and day; it was no exaggeration to call it a spiraling ascent.
In other words, with enough ingredients, half of Gu Su’s one hundred soldiers could reach Level 20. Fifteen of them could even make a push for Level 30.
Although that was all in the future, it gave Gu Su hope.
A mix of delight and urgency stirred in his heart. Without a moment’s hesitation, Gu Su gave a command in a deep voice, "Have a batch of ingredients sent over immediately.
Also, pass on my directive: all Undead Bosses, Minions, Warriors with Special Talents of Elite rank or higher, as well as all Death Knights, Corpse Witches, and Vampires are to assemble here at the Mechanical Grinding Disc!"
The command was swiftly transmitted through the Communication Puppets, a hoarse, mechanical voice echoing throughout every corner of the Graveyard Demon’s domain.
Within moments, Undead figures emerged from every corner of the Graveyard Demon’s domain. Some hurried over from the maintenance workshop, while others raced in from their sentry posts on the surrounding walls.
Still others advanced steadily from the direction of the warehouse and the White Bone Church. The throng of bodies converged in an orderly fashion on the area where the Mechanical Grinding Disc was located. The intermingled sounds of footsteps and clattering Bone Joints created a spectacular scene.
Standing to one side, Tooth Bone watched the spectacle unfold. The Soul Fire in his eye sockets flickered slightly, and he opened his mouth as if to speak, but ultimately said nothing.
’Gu Su is being a bit hasty,’ he thought, but he also understood the Grinding Disc’s value and wouldn’t dare question Gu Su’s decision.
Gu Su paid this no mind. His gaze swept over the gathered crowd of Undead, and he raised a hand to give a signal.
The Undead packed at the front immediately understood. They stepped aside, clearing a wide path.
Following his signal, some twenty imposing Ordinary Skeleton Soldiers walked forward steadily. They carried several heavy, battered wooden crates filled with cleaned chicken and fresh mushrooms, which gave off a faint, savory aroma. These were the exact ingredients Gu Su had specially ordered.
"The flesh-and-blood ingredients first!" Gu Su’s gaze landed on the crates as he gave another crisp, direct order.
Not daring to delay, the Skeleton Soldiers carrying the crates stepped forward. They carefully took out ten whole chickens and tossed them neatly into the feed chute at the base of the Mechanical Grinding Disc.
The moment the chicken entered the feed chute, the windmill, which had been turning at a steady pace, instantly accelerated. The WHIRRING sound grew louder, and the Blue halo within the dark-green glass cover brightened. Through it, one could faintly see the silhouettes of gears meshing at high speed.
All of Gu Su’s Undead watched with bated breath, their gazes fixed on the Mechanical Grinding Disc. The Soul Fire in their eye sockets pulsed violently, filled with anticipation and curiosity.
They could all sense the dense aura of death emanating from the Grinding Disc and vaguely guessed that this device would bring them a massive boost in power.
As the Grinding Disc slowly consumed and processed the chicken, a dark red, finely-textured paste began to ooze from the outlet on the other side. It looked like a concentration of flesh and blood essence and gave off a faint aura of death.
The paste emerged with excruciating slowness, dripping drop by drop from the edge of the outlet. Watching it, Gu Su grew impatient, rubbing his fingertips together. He wished he could step forward and speed up the Grinding Disc himself.
But he suppressed his impatience, remaining where he stood. His eyes were glued to the outlet, carefully observing every detail.
’I have to confirm whether the Grinding Disc’s effects are stable and consistent with the system’s description,’ he thought. ’After all, the overall increase in my Undead Team’s strength depends on it.’
Time ticked by. After a full five minutes, the whirring of the Mechanical Grinding Disc gradually slowed and finally came to a complete stop.
By then, five fist-sized, vibrant red balls of meat had accumulated at the outlet. They emitted a rich, fleshy aroma and a faint Blue glow—the refined flesh-and-blood ingredients produced by the Grinding Disc.
Gu Su glanced over the surrounding Undead, his gaze finally settling on five Elite Skeleton Warriors. "You five, try it first," he said seriously.
Upon hearing his words, the Soul Fire in the eye sockets of the five Elite Skeleton Warriors flared. Clearly excited beyond measure, they stepped forward without hesitation, each picked up a ball of meat, and swallowed it down in great gulps.
Undead had no need to chew. The moment the meatballs entered their mouths, they instantly transformed into a stream of pure energy that flowed into their bones and Soul Fire.
Five faint white lights shone from the bodies of the five Elite Skeleton Warriors. A faint luminescence appeared on the surface of their bones, and their auras grew considerably more robust. Even without a system notification, Gu Su could see the change.
All five of the Elite Skeleton Warriors had successfully gained 1 Level. The strongest among them was now Level 6.
As the five Elite Skeleton Warriors swallowed the meatballs, Gu Su immediately had his subordinates act, pouring fifteen units of fresh mushrooms into the Mechanical Grinding Disc’s feed chute. While the disc started up again, he slowly turned his head back to the five Elite Skeleton Warriors. He carefully studied the light that still lingered around them and nodded in satisfaction.
Seeing this result, the last of Gu Su’s doubts vanished.
’It seems the Mechanical Grinding Disc’s effects are exactly as the system described—stable and powerful.’
He began to calculate inwardly. ’If the bizarre ingredients processed from the mushrooms have an equally significant effect, I’ll have to plan carefully. I’ll need to properly schedule the Mechanical Grinding Disc’s use and the distribution of ingredients to maximize its effectiveness and rapidly increase the overall strength of my Undead Team.’
