Chapter 2389: I Think I Have Its Key

"Drink the soup first, Alfred made it for you." Amadeus Yancey blew on the chicken soup to cool it and handed it over, his handsome face calm, "I don’t recognize the box in your hand, but I know the material. It’s made of polymer polyethylene, a material usually used in aerospace vehicles or explosion-proof shields."

Nathalie Quinlan reluctantly took the bowl with one hand, as she was holding Lynette Kingsley’s box in her left hand, making it inconvenient to take the bowl of chicken soup.

She slightly tightened her grip on the box, her lowered eyes clearly contemplative, making her look thoughtful.

"Was this material available 20 years ago?" Nathalie raised her head to ask him.

Amadeus Yancey, who was in charge of The Ninth Institute, had long controlled the rare earth trade in Beijing and was extremely familiar with these rare materials.

Seeing that the girl seemed to care a lot about this box, he was already aware that the box Nathalie was fiddling with might be the ’item’ she risked bringing out from the Kingsleys Family.

Amadeus had a moment of hesitation in not wanting to answer her, but when his deep eyes met the girl’s urgent gaze, he honestly placed the chicken soup back on the bedside table, speaking gently, "20 years ago... it was difficult! This belongs to high-tech materials. 20 years ago, humanity’s development in the aerospace field wasn’t as advanced as it is now. These polymer materials are super protective materials requiring high-tech enhancement. Given the technological level 20 years ago, such technology might have existed, but it would certainly have been in the hands of a few."

"For example, certain geniuses at The First Research Institute." Amadeus looked at her deeply, slowly drawing a conclusion.

Nathalie was silent for a moment before continuing to fiddle with the box in her hand.

She knew Lynette Kingsley wasn’t an ordinary person, otherwise, why would Marcella Davidson, known as the weapon manufacturing master, repeatedly hold her hand and mention Lynette’s name to her?

And why would Nicholas Fuller have persisted for 20 years in investigating the cause of Lynette Kingsley’s death?

Only Nathalie hadn’t expected Lynette to be even more... of a genius than she had thought!

She rotated the box in her hand, the contrast between her cold, fair hand and the box’s color was striking, making Nathalie seem absent-minded, as if her whole being was engrossed in thought.

Amadeus Yancey saw her deep in thought, not rushing her, and instead pulled a chair to sit by her hospital bed, picking up an apple to peel for her.

"A recent research achievement announced by Master Fed on Polyimide-Nanomica composite film is a polymer nanomaterial like this one."

"These materials share a common feature—they can’t be forcibly opened by external force."

Amadeus quickly peeled the apple and cut it into small pieces, placing them on a plate for her, then took a tissue to wipe his hands, raising his eyelids lazily and casually asked, "Nathalie, have you figured out how to open it yet?"

After listening to him, Nathalie turned the box in her hand to show him the front, expressionlessly saying, "It has a key. But this lock is as hard to open as the material you mentioned—it’s a Luban Lock! Unless you have its matching key, there’s no way to open it."

Amadeus Yancey glanced at the lock hole on the box’s front, which looked ordinary and showed no sign of being a mechanism lock.

However, since Nathalie said it was a mechanism lock, it must be the legendary, long-lost Luban Lock. He rubbed his brow, looking slightly troubled at the girl, "So, what do you plan to do?"

Nathalie’s mouth curved into a slight smile, her lashes long and thick as she casually remarked, "...I think I have its key."
