The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2413: Do a Good Job and Don’t Tarnish the K Organization’s Name
The man with blond chicken nest hair looked at him as if he were an idiot, but soon withdrew his gaze, turning to the mercenaries in the car and saying, "Did you hear that? Mr. Garland wants you to do a good job and not tarnish K Organization’s reputation."
Several mercenaries glanced at Nathan Garland, their eyes sharp like knives, and after a long while, one responded coldly, "Boss, don’t worry, we’ll definitely handle this.
"Okay."
The blond chicken nest-haired man finally turned his head, speaking to Nathan Garland disdainfully, "Mr. Garland, did you hear that? We’re not slacking off, so make sure to clean up your mouth next time!"
Nathan Garland’s face flushed like a pig’s liver, pinching his palms.
Knowing the other was mocking him, he swallowed his anger and composed himself, softening his tone, "Thank you for your trouble then."
"Tch."
The man with blond chicken nest hair glanced him up and down again, seemingly feeling that even another look at this weakling would be a shame.
Then she walked back to the pickup truck, supported its edge with one hand, jumped, and nimbly turned over to get into the car: "Mr. Garland, go home and wait for good news."
...
Nathalie returned to the villa, and Alfred and Sadam hadn’t come back yet.
She took a bottle of water from the refrigerator, turned around, and was ready to go back to her room.
Amadeus Yancey happened to be at the staircase, saw her about to go up, and leaned there blocking her way, "Nathalie the Goddess, did you have fun using me as a bet tonight?"
Nathalie looked up slightly upon hearing him, paused, and responded with a slightly roguish tone, "Did you enjoy watching me and your pursuers fight over you, bloody and bruised?"
Amadeus Yancey found himself speechless from her words, stood up straight, and with a serious expression said to her, "I just wanted to explain this to you."
"I didn’t know Lianna liked me."
The girl made a sound but lowered her eyelids, her raven-black lashes shading her eyes, evidently not believing his words, "Oh."
Amadeus Yancey saw her sidestepping to go up and grabbed her left hand, his tone becoming helpless, "I really didn’t notice this. I rarely come to Inderia; it’s always Zed Moore handling things... I’ve only met her a few times..."
Nathalie finally stopped, giving him a sideways glance, "You didn’t know, but it didn’t stop Mr. Yancey from enjoying the show tonight."
After speaking, a sudden annoyance rose in her heart, pressing her lips together, and she lowered her lashes to bypass the man in front of her, "Forget it, I’m going up."
Amadeus Yancey couldn’t stop her, and the girl only left a cold silhouette as she went upstairs.
He watched as she entered the room, closed the door, standing somewhat in a daze at the stairway.
After a while.
He returned to the living room to call Govert Griffin.
Soon, the quiet and deep male voice echoed in the living room, "I ask you, what should I do if I accidentally make my girlfriend angry?"
*
Over in Beijing, Govert Griffin was playing at Rivendell with a group.
Nadya Tucker, Audrick Zachmann, and a few Beijing socialites were all in the room.
Audrick Zachmann saw Govert Griffin go aside to take a call, threw down his cards, found someone to play in his place, and walked over to Govert Griffin, "Whose call?"
Govert Griffin had just finished talking with Amadeus Yancey, turned back to see Audrick Zachmann patting his shoulder, got startled, and then soothed his heart, saying, "Amadeus called."
"Hmm?" Audrick Zachmann hadn’t seen Amadeus Yancey and Nathalie for a long time, so he asked him, "Why did he call you? Is he coming back?"
