The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2423: Since You Know Our Background, Don’t Mess With Us
Nathalie Quinlan didn’t speak, just looked at him coldly.
She indeed hadn’t expected the other party would try to kill Nathan Garland, after all, they were partners. This showed that the K Organization was as ruthless as rumored, with no sense of morality.
"Since we have apologized, and we’ve all met, we’ll be leaving now." The man in the duckbill cap raised his hand, and soon a submarine surfaced at the dock, with others beginning to leave in an orderly fashion. He walked at the end.
Nathalie Quinlan watched them about to leave, suddenly called out to him: "Wait a minute."
The man in the duckbill cap calmly stopped and turned to look at her: "Ms. Quinlan still has something to say?"
"What is your relationship with the Hidden Family?" Nathalie Quinlan was concise, getting straight to the point.
The man in the duckbill cap hadn’t expected her to know of this relationship; he looked at her seriously and, after a while, withdrew his gaze and said indifferently: "Since you know we have ties with the Hidden Family and are aware of its existence, we can part amicably. You don’t need to provoke us, so we can leave you be!" This meant he didn’t regard Nathalie Quinlan.
Nathalie Quinlan raised her eyes, placing her hand on the duckbill cap. Her eyes seemed to conceal a beast ready to pounce: "Oh? So you’re here on the Hidden Family’s commission. May I ask who that person is?"
The others had already boarded the submarine, leaving only the man in the duckbill cap still outside, being urged by someone on board.
After he told them to wait, he thoroughly looked her up and down and said: "Someone you’re not qualified to meet."
Nathalie Quinlan ’oh’d again, surprisingly patient, not showing any signs of anger: "I understand."
The man in the duckbill cap turned to board the submarine, one foot already on it, but something made him pause and turn again toward the girl not far away, surprisingly saying: "You’re not stopping us?"
He thought Nathalie Quinlan had Nathan Garland arrange for them to meet, at least to say something or give them a warning.
Unexpectedly, she seemed to chat casually with them and let them leave lightly.
Although the man in the duckbill cap didn’t believe Nathalie Quinlan had any means to stop them with the submarine already there, her doing nothing made him vaguely uneasy.
He just felt the other party wouldn’t be this agreeable!
Nathalie Quinlan leaned back against the car door, speaking lightly: "No."
The man in the duckbill cap looked at her deeply, seeing nothing clear, and with his subordinates urging him to leave.
He didn’t waste any more time, saying to the girl: "Ms. Quinlan, looking forward to next time!"
Nathalie Quinlan watched him board the submarine, its door closing, soon diving underwater, a silver wake appearing on the sea’s surface...
She withdrew her line of sight, turning to ask the man standing next to her: "Is he dead?"
Amadeus Yancey knew she was asking about Nathan Garland who’s unconscious on the ground, checked him, and replied: "Not dead. The shot missed the heart, but he’s lost a lot of blood; without a hospital, he’ll die soon."
Upon hearing that Nathan Garland wasn’t dead, Nathalie Quinlan raised her eyebrows, uttering "hm" and sent a message to Emma Gabehart to arrange for someone to pick up the person.
After sending the message, she looked up at the submarine moving farther away, ready to head back, first opening the car door to sit in the driver’s seat, then issued a command — [Intercept.]
