The Villain of Ancient Greece
Chapter 370: Father, Your Daughter Has Come to Show Her Filial Piety!
Whoosh!
Just as Typhon, the Father of Monsters, was about to make landfall enveloped in typhoons and raging waves, a pitch-black spear of withered branches shot forth from War God Mountain.
Piercing the heavens, it plummeted toward the sea, plunging into the hundred-headed dragon’s chest with lightning speed.
Pfft!
Accompanied by a dull puncturing sound, the withered spear blazed fiercely.
Reddish-black flames formed the illusory image of a grand palm tree, as the destructive power originating from a miniature divine world surged violently, scorching Typhon’s scales black and cracked while his flesh sizzled in agony.
Suffering this strike, all one hundred heads of the Father of Monsters let out agonizing roars.
His colossal frame stumbled backward, toppling into the deep waters of the Oceanus Sea to barely extinguish the flames on his body with the ceaseless seawater.
Accursed thing!
Glaring at the withered spear embedded in his chest, its power temporarily suppressed, Typhon’s slit pupils brimmed with venomous hatred as he raised his dragon claw toward the divine construct that had caused him such suffering, intent on crushing it to pieces.
Buzz—
Yet with a clear, melodic hum, the spear seemed to sense danger and withdrew on its own from Typhon’s chest, transforming into a reddish-black streak of light that landed squarely within a pale, grasping palm.
As resonating dragon roars echoed across the sky, a silver dragon a hundred meters long folded its wings, landing atop the coastal sea wall erected along the Peloponnese peninsula.
A silver-haired Main God, clad in silver battle armor and gripping a Spear, leapt down from its back, sneering at his old nemesis whom he had clashed with multiple times across the Oceanus Sea.
"You really never rest, do you, Typhon..."
"You again? And this wretched spawn is actually still alive!"
Looking at the man and dragon before him, Typhon snorted coldly through gritted teeth.
Having barely regenerated her body under the nourishment of countless drops of the Holy Grail and elixirs of immortality,
Ladon glared with her draconic slit pupils, firing back sarcastically:
"Before putting you to death according to Greek tradition, how could I dare die first, Father God?"
"Then you are welcome to try!"
Typhon wasted no more words and immediately stirred his Authorities as whirlwinds of typhoons enveloped overwhelming tsunamis, sweeping toward the entire Peloponnese peninsula.
"Be careful. Typhon can continuously regenerate within the sea, making him virtually impossible to kill, and the divine reaction at the core of the typhoon is rising steadily.
If we don’t find a way to block it, the tsunami’s fallout will destroy a region over a thousand leagues along the Peloponnese coast. He is likely trying to use his home-field advantage to force your hand and exhaust your divine power!"
Ladon warned Lorne earnestly, gazing toward the Oceanus Sea where dense clouds gathered and thick mists churned upward.
Typhon was the personification of the "typhoon," as well as the symbol of terror and disaster, born with Authorities that commanded tempests and tsunamis.
Furthermore, this old monster had brains to match his brawn, possessing a cunning and treacherous nature.
Upon seeing Lorne and Ladon arrive, he had retreated into the Oceanus Sea to wage a war of attrition.
"Here I offer libations of poetry and wine, that my cup of blessings may overflow..."
Amid a solemn chant, Lorne raised the golden Holy Grail filled with divine fluid, pouring it onto the ground.
A barrier radiating golden light rose from the coastline of the Peloponnese peninsula, repelling the incoming tsunamis time and again.
Yet just as Ladon had warned, the typhoons over the sea continued to brew and the tsunamis pressed onward, showing no sign of abating.
.
.
.
Meanwhile, the golden barrier forged by Lorne’s own divine nature flickered between bright and dim, teetering on the verge of collapse.
Seeing this, he knit his brows tight, feeling a growing headache.
The civilization of the Greek world was predominantly maritime, with core human city-states such as Crete, Sparta, Athens, and Mycenae mostly built along the coast.
Among them, Crete had already fallen in the war against the Atlanteans; Sparta sat relatively forward on the peninsula, followed by Thessaly and Athens.
These city-states were situated near estuaries, with densely populated coastal areas falling directly within the tsunami’s strike zone.
Given the long, winding coastline, even if all Olympian Main Gods took to the field during a crisis, guarding every sector would be near impossible.
After all, none of them had just one or two sacred sites to protect.
After roughly estimating the time, Lorne glanced back at the shadowy silhouettes of the cities behind him, tracing a resonance formation connected to War God Mountain with a flick of his finger.
"How are things on your end?"
Athena’s voice came through the magic formation. "The news has been fully disseminated. Coastal city-states are opening their gates to urgently gather the rural population, while citizens needing evacuation are assembling at major altars, which should hold firm under the protection of the Main Gods’ Authorities."
She paused briefly before adding gravely. "Additionally, with our advance warning, the patron Gods of each city-state were somewhat prepared and are mobilizing their entire strength to construct coastal defenses and engrave magical formations to intercept the tsunami."
"That’s good."
Lorne breathed a sigh of relief, his brow smoothing slightly.
Facing a God King-tier foe like
Typhon required his full strength, leaving him unable to shield every human settlement on the peninsula.
Even without Typhon targeting them directly, the fallout of their clash would spell catastrophe for mortals.
Only by ensuring the Olympian Gods and human city-states behind him were prepared could he strike without hesitation.
Still, Athens’s ability to mobilize coastal city-states so swiftly, getting nearly the entire peninsula to obey War God Mountain’s directives and compelling patron Gods to intervene, proved that the cultural victory strategy he and Athena had devised was working.
Of course, Typhon’s lingering terror from nearly soloing Olympus back then played a significant role as well.
The towering waves on the Oceanus Sea were visible to anyone who wasn’t blind, and no Main God wished to lose their domain of faith, just as no mortal wanted an early grave.
Thus, under the dual pressure of divine oracles and impending doom, the evacuation of the Peloponnese peninsula proceeded in an orderly fashion.
To be safe, Lorne pondered for a moment before reminding Athena:
"If necessary, open the Sanctuary and evacuate refugees toward Athens."
Compared to cities like Apollo’s Sparta or Aphrodite’s Cyprus, which lay closer to the Oceanus Sea, Athens was situated on the flank of the peninsula’s midsection, shielded by several island chains that broke giant waves and blunted tsunamis, all supported by a formidable defense system.
Furthermore, after extensive development, Athens ranked foremost among all city-states in its numbers of deities and heroes.
Faced with an uncontrollable disaster, relocating the vulnerable to the rear to preserve vital strength was the soundest strategy.
"Rest assured, it’s already underway!"
As Athena responded, a pillar of light shot into the sky above the great altar of the Acropolis, illuminating constellations one by one.

.
Meanwhile, Dionysian cultists traversed remote villages that had yet to receive word, shouting warnings and erecting temporary altars.
Golden-red blood beads exuding the fragrance of wine were placed upon high platforms, drawing surrounding magical factors and absorbing local earth and stone to solidify into colossal archways a hundred meters tall and dozens of yards wide.
Once the archways formed, the blood beads dispersed into lines of Hermes script carved into both sides of the frames, as verdant grapevines burst from the soil to coil around them.
Within the hollow gateways, a silvery-gray, rippling membrane of light emerged, revealing glimpses of vast valleys, guiding soldiers on alert, and sprawling tent camps taking shape.
As the light patterns stabilized, glowing white doves flew from the hollow stone gates, cooing softly to convey divine decrees.
Overcoming their fear, the evacuees gathered their courage and stepped through the gates, finding themselves transported to the other side in a mere breath.
Looking across the land, War God Mountain and the Acropolis stood tall and majestic, while the fragrance of soil and grass beneath their feet felt almost surreal.
Without time for sightseeing, the evacuees were guided into camps by Athenian soldiers along the way.
Within minutes, the silent valley turned bustling and lively.
Ordinary mortals devoid of divine power or talent stepped into this peaceful haven with their families, falling to their knees in relief to kiss the green grass beneath their feet.
They gave thanks for the Shepherd’s mercy, grateful that mere mortal ants had not been cast aside.
"For our God loves all mortals equally; he is thicker than water with us, bound by blood..."
Walking among the crowds, Dionysian cultists distributed supplies and soothing sweet wine while reciting their patron God’s teachings.
Having received food and shelter, the vulnerable from remote villages felt an overwhelming sense of peace, coming to a deeper understanding of those words:
Wine is the blood of God; drinking from this cup establishes a connection with that merciful deity.
From this day forth, we are thicker than water, bound by blood!
At this moment, as Lorne held off the tsunamis and tempests along the Oceanus coast, he seemed to hear countless prayers and praises across the void.
Golden faith surged into his inner world like a river, swiftly replenishing his expended divine power and nature.
Meanwhile, the golden barrier forged by the Holy Grail reached its limit, finally shattering under the relentless onslaught of typhoons and waves.
"Just in time..."
Lorne murmured, pulling his Spear from the ground to gaze at Typhon within the tempests and raging waves.
The evacuation and the establishment of new defenses could not drag on indefinitely; he had granted the city-states roughly three hours, beyond which those left outside the shelters would have to rely on their own fortunes.
Now, it was time to exchange pleasantries with the Father of Monsters.
With a flash in his eyes,
Lorne leapt onto Ladon’s back, riding the filial spawn of Typhon straight into the raging billows and storms.
Seeing his old nemesis charge straight at him, Typhon let out a low roar and surged forward to meet him, a sinister, cunning gleam flashing in his slit pupils.
The plan had succeeded!
Meanwhile, in Thessaly.
Rumble—!
A familiar tremor rose from the earth as thousands of Gigantes crawled out from dark fissures, standing tall across the land to cast terrifying shadows over the human city.
Commanding these Gigantes was none other than Kronos, the Titan God King, crowned with a radiant halo!
Seeing those suffocating monsters appear before his eyes, King Admetus looked at the few heroes scattered around him, his heart sinking into utter despair.
This time, they were truly finished!
