Chapter 485: How Strong Is He?

Aria then turned her head back to look at Adrian. Her eyes were completely hollow.

“Is he really here?” she asked.

Adrian nodded slowly.

“Yeah,” Adrian said. “But it appears that he has recently gone around telling people a different name. He told people that his name is Yuusha. And while his native tribesmen called him Mike, the chief told me that all of his tribesmen are dead now.”

Adrian crossed his arms over his chest.

“He is out on his way to succeed in a certain mission,” Adrian explained. “I don’t really know the exact details about it, but it involves massive amounts of massacre. He slaughtered his own people. And apparently, he already knows about us. He already knows that you are here, Aria. And you must already know how his thought process works.”

Aria slowly nodded. She forced herself to take a breath.

“Well, he is an idiot,” Aria said. Her voice carried a bit of disgust. “He is far too hot-blooded. Even if he does anything smart, it is probably because there is someone else behind him who is guiding him somewhere. There is no way that he can actually outsmart me. So I don’t understand how or why you think that he can overpower me right now. Or even you for that matter.”

Adrian rubbed the back of his neck.

“Well, the local chief told me some things,” Adrian said. “He is undergoing a process where he is trying to ascend to godhood.”

Aria’s eyes widened.

“I have already taken my first few steps on that path too,” Adrian said casually, though the weight of his words made Serena and Claire stare at him in disbelief. “And he is doing the exact same thing. But considering the fact that he is going around killing innocent people and butchering his own tribe, it is pretty apparent that he is trying to gather negative karma.”

Adrian uncrossed his arms and let out a tired sigh.

“He is taking the path entirely opposite to mine,” Adrian said. “But it looks like even if you have a ton of negative karma, you can still become a god. It doesn’t matter as long as the amount of karma is big enough.”

Hearing his words made Claire wipe her wet cheeks and look up at him in confusion.

“Wait,” Claire said. “If he is strong enough to do this divinity thing or whatever, and since you are doing the exact same thing, doesn’t it mean that you are on an equal level? You both have that godhood karma stuff going on.”

Adrian immediately shook his head.

“No,” Adrian said. “Before I came here, I was just a regular guy. I was literally just sitting in my house doing nothing. I wouldn’t survive if I came here with that body. I would be no different than a regular commoner.”

He paused and wiped more blood off his upper lip.

“Heck, I would probably be worse than a commoner,” he muttered. “As for him, I don’t know what he was doing right before he came to this world, but on Earth, all I know is that he was a school student. So physically he was probably not that much better than me. But he came here with extremely broken abilities.”

Adrian took a deep breath.

“The more he fought people, the stronger he got,” Adrian explained. “Well, not fight. It is more like the more he kills people, the stronger he gets. And if that is still true, then I think it is a bit too late for me to even think about fighting him directly. From what I know, he went from being a weak guy at the start to someone who could fight against a ninth-circle mage and shrug off most spells like they were nothing. That is the kind of man he can become, if not probably even stronger right now.”

Aria’s face darkened when she heard that.

“If he is really at that level of strength even now,” Aria said firmly. “If he is at that level of strength right now, then we should just head back to Oresfall. It is not a wise decision to stay back here. The rewards we will get for this mission aren’t worth your life, Papa.”

Aria then smirked slightly. Her eyes showed a brief flash of the cold and heartless powerhouse she was in her past life.

“And based on what you told me,” Aria continued. “A hero is locked to the place where they are summoned. Specifically to the continent. I have used it against him in my past life and we can use it against him in this life too. We just need to head back to Oresfall and he will be a lot weaker there.”

Adrian shook his head again.

“No,” Adrian said. “This time he wasn’t summoned as a hero. That is the issue. And we don’t know how things are going to go. I don’t know if he will be weaker in different continents or if he is going to be treated as a native by the world itself. There are too many unknowns here. I will need to test every single thing out, because even the ability that he had in your past life might not be the exact same in this one.”

Claire turned to look at Serena and then she turned back to Adrian. Her face was pale.

“This Mike guy,” Claire started. “How strong even is he? I know you told me that he is as strong as a ninth-circle mage, but can you explain how strong he actually is? I just can’t imagine it, because I haven’t really seen anyone on that level. Forget a nine-circle mage. I think the strongest mage I have ever seen until now is a sixth or a seventh circle mage.”

Adrian nodded slowly. He understood her confusion. Power scaling at that level just sounded like fairy tales to normal people.

“Well,” Adrian said and rubbed his chin. “If he was in our home continent…”
