The Villainess’s Reputation [Kingdom Building]

359. Vanishing of Escort Ship Part 3

“Call Rexford to my bedroom…” Ravenna instructed the maid who was currently serving her the meal.

The young maid hesitated for a few tense seconds, shifting nervously on her feet. “Y-Your Highness… but Miss Alice explicitly requested that you rest. You can indulge in your pastimes once you are fully recovered—”

Ravenna cut her short, her dark eyes flashing with cold authority. “Who exactly is your master, huh...? Just go get Rexford for me, and get out of here right now!”

The maid nodded frantically, a thoroughly nervous expression taking over her face as she hurried out of the chamber. Left alone once more, Ravenna kept her gaze fixed on the tall window, deep in thought as her mind continued to spin rapidly. To keep the suffocating paranoia and wild theories at bay, she swiped her hand through the air, opening the upgraded interface to inspect the changes.

“So I can copy skills now... and even enter the Celestial Realm? The place where the gods reside?” Ravenna questioned herself, her eyes wide as she scanned the newly unlocked capabilities.

“Does this mean my working hypothesis, that I am gradually becoming one of the gods, is actually true? Does actively attuning to the Universal Origin mean transitioning into a deity?”

She paused, her brow furrowing as a glaring contradiction entered her train of thought. “Then why on earth did Hero Luminous die a mere human? If he was the previous owner of the System... he should have also been attuning to the Universal Origin. And from what I understand based on my newly recovered memory... he was an Otherworlder as well.”

“No... he wasn't just an Otherworlder. He was The Otherworlder before me. After all, he is the very person who coined the term to the gods.” Ravenna recalled Goddess Herptian’s shock during their first encounter when she realized Ravenna's true nature. “It didn’t look like the goddess knew much about other worlds at all... and if my hypothesis is correct, Hero Luminous was the pioneer, he was trying to utilize the Universal Origin to attain divinity simply so he could return home?”

“The Absolute Being did allude to there being a way for me to return to my original world... and if I connect that with the fact that he promised he would eventually 'show' me the method if I agreed to help him...” Ravenna placed a hand over her forehead, the pieces clicking together. “It must mean I already possess the exact tool that helps me achieve it. That might be precisely what this Reputation System is... a structured interface designed to facilitate attunement to the Universal Origin.”

“Universal Origin is a legendary magic that allows one to directly alter the fabric of reality... a power identical to the divine beings known as gods. And traveling from one universe to another is, by definition, a reality-altering power…” Ravenna finished muttering her thoughts.

Just then, a sharp, crisp knock sounded at her door twice, followed immediately by a familiar, smooth voice. “Your Highness, it’s me, Rexford.”

“Come on in,” Ravenna replied in an instant, closing the system interface with a flick of her wrist.

The heavy wooden door opened, and in came Rexford with a small, affectionate smile playing on his lips. His striking red eyes looked at her lovingly as he walked across the room toward the bed. “I am genuinely happy that you called for me, but you should really be resting, Your Highness...”

“If not you, I am more than happy to call for Laila instead. I am sure she would be thrilled to serve me,” Ravenna countered, She didn't blink. She reached down and pulled back the heavy duvet in one slow motion. Her fingers worked the clasp of her bra with practiced ease, letting the lace fall away to reveal her breasts.

Rexford’s smile deepened with familiar desire as he climbed onto the mattress beside her, leaning in close. “We are just starting...?”

Ravenna didn't answer with words. She grabbed the top button of his shirt and slid it open. She pulled him down hard, crushing her lips against his in a kiss that tasted of alcohol and subtle desperation. For a few seconds, they fought for air, their tongues tangling. Then she pushed back just an inch, her palms flat against his chest, feeling his heart hammering against his ribs.

Rexford didn't wait for an invitation. He lunged forward, his mouth finding the sensitive skin just below her jaw. His hand slid down her side, gripping her hip with a pressure that forced a sharp gasp from her lungs. He trailed his lips downward, bypassing her breasts to nip at the soft skin of her stomach, leaving a trail of heat in his wake. Ravenna arched her back, her fingers digging into his shoulders as she pulled him closer, needing the friction.

Ravenna arched her back, a sharp gasp escaping her as she clamped her legs around his waist, pulling him closer until there was no space left between them.

Looking straight into his deep red eyes, she asked in a soft, dangerously quiet tone, “You are my loyal lover, right? Rexford?”

Right behind his head, a vibrant orange panel instantly flickered to life in her line of sight.
